I can say that the meal was not bad I ordered pancit sotanghon as thet said that its their best seller and fresh lumpia.

What I really enjoyed was the ice cream it so creamy and the flavor still remain I orderd avocado but they said that another best seller was the cheese and you can combine it. I am not a fan of cheese flavor for ice cream but maybe I can try it next time. ;)

I'm not a fan of other flavored ice cream aside from my fave of quezo, pistachio, the twix ice cream and the likes.

But in reality i rarely get an ice cream. It depends on the cravings. 128516

Anyway i found a more cheaper ice cream than Carmens Best but compare to Carmen they have a pint and way more delicious than i have ever tasted. Yes i sound sooo commercial but it's true. For 65pesos a scoop not so bad.

This is avocado flavor. One of their best selling ice cream. And i think i will be back for more soon.

They also have affordable foods. Sulit as well. Will review them separately soon. 128077🏻128522

Avocado and Cheese Ice Cream

Milky Way chain of restaurants are serving us since 1950s. It started out as a dairy bar in Manila. Then, eventually innovated from a fastfood kind of service to adding up a la carte menu, Japanese food bar and classic dining style of Milky Way buffet set-up.

I celebrated my birthday last year here in Milky Way, Tuscany Estate branch. That was a first time. It was just a quick stopover for dessert. I ordered for 2 scoops of ice cream with cheese flavor and my partner had 2 scoops of avocado flavor. Our palette was delighted, it was actually good. Avocado really tasted like avocado and it is color green, the way it should be. The cheese flavor I ordered has chunks of real cheese, love at first taste. xD It was a pleasant experience.

Now, just last week. We're looking for somewhere to have our dinner. Until we pass by Milky Way, Tuscany. I am aware that they also offer good all time favorite filipino foods and Im craving for Pinoy food at that time. So, I ordered Bulalo Steak (please see my review of their Bulalo Steak from my previous posts. I was really bitter for something missing ln that dish. Big time!)

Of course, its Milky Way right? A dairy bar in 1950s. My instant favorite cheese ice cream. For sure, I will not let that dinner end without having it for dessert. This time my partner and I are so full from our main meal. So, we both decided to just order 1 with 2 scoops our choice of flavor. Agree! I can't wait. 1 avocado and the other 1 is cheese.

When served to us. The avocado goes on top and the cheese at the bottom. We enjoyed the avocado, it was exactly the same as we experienced last year. Now, here's the cheese flavor. It was a totally different experience or should I say opposite from what we experience before.

First, we have to hold the glass of ice cream cause when we try to scoop out using our sppon it was WAAAAYYYYY too hard. We have to weight down the glass cause' if not it will fly off directly to the other table, for real! The texture, surely isn't right but I want to give the taste a try (just to be considerate) but boy!!! My frustration got real. Second, There's no way the ice cream should taste like that. In their menu it fell to the category they call "Old-time Favorites". It is literally OLD (throw it right away it is just 1 scoop). The thing is, how old are we talking about here?

BULALO STEAK! Worth every calorie and cholesterol intake but who cares for a second, right?

It's not like an everyday dish we usually have in our household. So, once in a while might as well dig in and enjoy every piece and bits of it while it lasts.

This SPECIAL kind of comfort food never fail to slap my stress eating habit away.

Milky way's version of BULALO STEAK is one of the tastiest so far among the few kinds Ive tried.

Sure! Bulalo Steak with Corn and Carrots with price tag of P440 per sizzling plate good for 2. One of THE most expensive Bulalo Steak I had, considering their prime location in Tuscany Mckinley in Taguig side by side with all the fancy restaurants located there. At first glance it was really worth it.

The restaurant only has a few seats available. When we were there, mezzanine was closed for reservation. The only seats offered to us was beside the door (very close to the door LOL). So, we decided to just occupy the seats outside. The stand fan set up by our food attendant saved the night! That simple gesture I consider a good service. He knew what his customer needs. No need to ask him for it. Not all food attendant has an initiative like that. KUDOS.

To wrap this all up. I have to say this.. The ONLY complain.. It breaks my heart EACH AND EVERY TIME.. PLEASE SOLVE THIS Y'ALL RESTO WHO SERVES THAT FREAKING FILIPINO FAVORITE, BULALO STEAK..

DO NOT TAKE THE F$%€*#? BONE MARROOOOOW AWAY!!!!!!!!! WE'RE GOOD WITHOUT THE CORN & CARROTS!!!

BUT WITHOUT THAT FREAKING BONE!!! YOUR P440 NOW FEELS LIKE P4,400!

*ok. I am calm now. Next time, just saying. LOL

Are there several versions of Milky Way? Their pansit is no way similar to the one served in Pasay Road. That branch should be a landmark for great Filipino food.

Being a noob with pansit (I only eat palabok, malabon and luglog, I think) I am not very familiar with other versions of it. So when we ordered pansit sotanghon and I assumed I ordered the right one. Stupid me for thinking sotanghon was the same as my favorites. E wala sa menu kasi and I assumed Milky Way din kasi ito.

No one was eating here. Me and my friend decided to try it since we know Milky Way is a good place. The sotanghon was such a small order. Taste was ok but I really prefer my luglog! Bakit wala?! 128557

We also got a chicken asparagus sandwich. It was served with Piknik shoestring potatoes. I can make a better sandwich.

Mejo disappointed talaga. Food was like canteen food. And their utensils were wrapped in a plastic bag. Weird. Sanitary, but weird.

When in Milky Way the best food to order is te luglog/Malabon (if you can find it) and halo-halo.

FOOD: We ate here on our 3rd anniversary last Sept24. We had their Sinigang Tuna Belly and Lechon Kawali. What a huge huge serving of Tuna Belly! It has two big slices which we didn't finish haha! We had it wrapped and the boyfriend ate it for his dinner without rice. 128516 The lechon kawali has big servings too but it was not the best for me. The lechon skin is crunchy but MAKUNAT! Harhar.

The place is really small. They have 1 nice waitress and 1 masungit waiter.

Price is OK. Not too pricey.

I want to go back to this place to try their other dishes!

I ate my lunch at Milky Way of Malate in Tuscany Estates Upper Mckinley yesterday with my officemates before we proceed to Korean Embassy for the release of our visa.

The food was okay, nothing extraordinary. The food serving is good for 2-3 people. I really love their pansit canton which is not in the picture because of the unique taste compared to other pansit i've ate before.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I ordered pinakbet with plain rice and paid 230 pesos for it. Pinakbet wasn't extraordinary and may be good for 2 but I find it too expensive though.

Classic take on cold dessert. Ice cream is never this creamy and fine these days. Good thing Milky Way was able to preserve the old manila style of indulging in these sweet cold treats. Milky way also offer Pinoy classics from different regions from the bicol islands such as laing to the rich flavors that spaniards leave to us... callos!!! trully a one stop shop fir a quick "back to old times feel."

New place, another find along Tuscany - Milky Way of Malate. 128522

We ordered a bowl of Laing for around P200~, already good for sharing. With rice, it wad delicious and yummmy for dinner - healthy too! 128525

My officemate and I also shared an order of Halo-Halo. They got beans to my dismay. 128517 But not bad for this taste and price of around P120 if I remember correctly. Though I would still prefer the halo-halo version from Razon's or Kabigting's. 128513

Somehow OK as a go-to resto for Filipino food and might go back to try Adobong Pusit based on what KC C ordered, hehe! 128518

Adobong pusit and home-made sylvanas. <3

I like adobong pusit preferably cooked without coconut milk. And that's how they cook theirs. So it's perfect for me. I occasionally get cravings for adobong pusit so now that this place has opened, I've got a go-to place if I get the craving while at the office.

This is a new resto that opened in the Tuscany estates area of Mckinley Hill. It's currently on soft opening so there were not a lot of people. Staff is very friendly. The owners were also very accommodating. They even gave us free silvanas for our dessert. We ordered sizzling bangus and pancit sotanghon and both were delicious. I would certainly be back to try out their other dishes. Btw, this is different from the Milky Way branches in greenhills, powerplant and pasay road. Although they are all relatives. This Milky Way is the same as the one in Malate before.
