Let me start my review with this: The waiter spilled an ice cold glass of water all over my lap... Before I even had my coffee... So why four stars?

Let me backtrack a bit... We went down to the restaurant at around 9am for the complementary buffet breakfast... The place was full (it's very small), but they had an extension of the buffet on the second floor. On our way upstairs, we passed by a vacated table... We asked the waiter if the table was occupied. It wasn't so we sat down before the staff finished busing the table. Unfortunately, while I was quietly surfing the net, I was jolted awake as the contents full glass of ice water that was emptied onto my lap.

The waiter looked horrified and apologized immediately... He handed me napkins so that I could dry off a bit... I asked him calmly to call the manager... He did so without question...

I wasn't really mad, just a bit surprised. The manager came after a bit and asked for my side of the story. I said there was no side to tell... I said that I wasn't mad, it's just that anytime something unfortunate happens in an establishment, I make it a point to elevate it to the one in charge. She apologized profusely, voiced concern and empathized with the incident, reassured me that they will retrain their staff, and asked if she could assist me with anything. I said that we were okay, I just wanted them to be aware of the incident. I did not ask for anything in return. I knew that I should have let the staff finish busing the table before taking a seat. I'm thankful that it was just water and not hot coffee or a colored juice. I was also glad that my phone didn't get wet. I really just didn't want the same thing to happen to another customer.

Miss Ann, the manager on duty, escorted us to a table closer to the buffet... She personally asked the staff to take good care of us, dropped in during our meal, and sent over extra fruits that weren't included in the buffet spread. Everyone kept cool and though I felt a tad uncomfortable because I got soaked, I didn't feel bad or annoyed. I enjoyed their buffet, though with limited choices, and loved the dragonfruit and grapes that they sent over...

What's the point of my review? I know I could have complained or made a scene, but I don't think that was justified in this situation... The staff of an establishment are also people who get tired and flustered... They deserve understanding for their mistakes as well... I have read a lot of reviews that make unbelievable and unfair demands on the staff of different establishments... Sometimes, we just need a bit of patience and analyze if we were also in the wrong. Despite some low scores in several of my reviews, I am actually not too demanding. I just don't tolerate rudeness and laziness... But the staff at Misto proved to be polite, cool under pressure, and well trained... I have to commend their manager, Miss Ann... She is a consummate professional.... I actually told her that she didn't have to send us the fruits, but it was definitely appreciated... We definitely enjoyed our Valentine's Day brekkie!

So, in the end, no harm, no foul! Great job to the staff!128079

Ordered their Chicken Ala Kiev.

The chicken was tender, juicy and crispy.
The filling however lacked cheese and had way too much butter.

It comes with mashed potato and steamed vegetables.

Lots of room for improvement.

This was during typhoon Mario & everything else was close

Nice ambience ... Small dining area for the new Seda hotel at the fort.

We had a nightcap here with our foreign supplier , chose this hotel coz it's nearest to where I live .

I had a classic mojito ... Simple, clean & refreshing

Zencia tea was tasteless

Chicken wings was good, crisp on the outside , moist on the inside , perfectly spiced & cooked well.

Beef salpicao was tender & tasty

Hotdog sandwich looks okay.. I didn't get to taste this though.

Love their alfresco sitting along the street... So cool at night

One word - Tinola. Hooman finally found Tinola in BGC. And he can enjoy it with me. But he didn't order it coz he ate a lot at home.

Their ice is so tiny. And they have breadsticks. Similar to what I eat in Puccini.

The Salmon Risotto with Crispy Onions was a very complex dish. I loved the salmon and the risotto, as they were both done impeccably well! Although the onions felt like an afterthought and didn't turn into a fine addition the dish. Less is more, as some chefs on TV say (ha ha).

Free buffet meals 3 times a day, for more than a week now, how can I complain???

I don't get to go back to the hotel during lunch time because of work, but I make the most out of the free breakfast by waking up earlier than I usually do.

Now, their breakfast spread isn't spectacular; just garlic rice, scrambled eggs, around 3 other dishes (usually sausage, tocino / corned beef, and some kind of fried fish), plus a selection of side dishes (pesto potatoes, hash browns, bacon, corn kernels, tomatoes, etc.). There is usually a pot of arrozcaldo, too.

What REALLY pushes me to wake up in the morning is Misto's PASTRIES. I'm not sure if they bake it themselves, or if it's supplied by a bakery, but their pastries are GREAT.

Their mini croissant is so soft, flakey and soooo buttery, you won't even have to put butter on it. And there is this other pastry, I don't know what it is called, but it has the same soft, flaky, buttery bread as the croissant. The bonus? CHOCOLATE. Melted chocolate hidden in secret pockets inside the buttery bread. 128525 I just pop these babies into the toaster-conveyor-belt-thingie, and after a few moments, they come out all warm and golden brown, with chocolate oozing out of every bite. 128523

I usually eat 3 of these at breakfast. 128540 I also suspended my gym membership for a month because of the circumstances, so...imma stay away from the weighing scale for awhile. LOL.

Misto located at Seda Hotel lobby in BGC

11th Avenue Salad was good but is a bit expensive for a salad.
Tomato soup is really good.
Crispy tadyang was both crispy and tender which makes it a must try.
