|ooloo finally! After months of bed rest, I'm finally able to brake out of the house! What to do, what to do? The first thing that came to my mind was Japanese food! Since I was not allowed to travel far, I opted to go to Miyako. Just about 5 minutes drive from the house, it was the quickest Japanese food getaway!

I ordered for some maki - Futomaki. They were good, actually. Nothing fancy but good - crunchy cucumber, kani stick, a little sweet tamago and kampyo (or upo I think). We were given 10 pieces instead of 8, as mentioned by the server. Standard Futomaki that surely satisfied my maki craving!

Then I got myself a bowl of Sukiyakidon. I was imagining thin strips of beef, in a sweet and a little salty sauce. I got a bowl covered with scrambled egg with lotsa carrots and onions. Under this were lumps of beef strips gone wrong, generous heaping of mushroom and a sweet sauce. 128548 Gah! Just about 3 tries and I'm done.

Hubby got their Katsudon which had the same egg topping and sweet sweet sauce but good thing the breaded pork serving was good enough.

Lastly, the little girl opted for some Ramen. Well, I didn't expect much but was still disappointed. We got their Shoyu Ramen that came with about 3-4 pieces of chasyu. I was first delighted but when I took a bite of the chasyu, all of my delight went to the drain. They were too hard. Seemed like boneless porkchop cuts to me. The noodles were of instant quality and the soup was too sweet than what it's supposed to be.

Gah! I would say that only the Futomaki delivered as expected.
