I was back to Trinoma, the maze like mall just last Sunday to meet someone. We agreed to get coffee and realized mainstream brands rule this mall. They have two Starbucks and two Coffee Bean branches here.

I picked the most unpopular coffee spot among the short list of choices and ended up at their garden area. Mochicream has a small place adjacent to its sister company restaurants. They serve mostly Mochi, a Japanese dessert that got popular a few years back.

Their Mochi’s exterior delights with a soft and chewy texture while it’s cold creamy inside is presented in different tastes through popular Japanese flavors, fruits and root crops. We got Sakura (Japanese flower), Red Sweet Potato and my favorite, sweet and citrusy, Chocolate Orange Mallow.

While their desserts appeal, the drinks failed my expectations. Iced French Vanilla was too tame and seemed like non fat milk, ice and a hint of vanilla only. The price tag of Php 175 was way overpriced at 8oz. The Matcha Mocha was a tad better. My complaint here was the absent mocha vibe because there was too much matcha feel.

To maximize our time together, M and I opted to have dessert after dinner. We searched for Trinoma's dessert places in Booky, and both reacted when we saw Mochicream, so that's where we went. 128513

Trinoma's Mochicream shares their space with Katsu Sora and Hokkaido Ramen Santouka -- a pretty good business strategy, if you ask me. After people dine in either of the two restaurants, they will have to pass by Mochicream, which might make them crave for mochi ice cream! 128525128588

Anyway, when we got there, only one other table was occupied as most people have their desserts for takeout. There were more than 10 flavors to choose from, with classic flavors and unique ones as well.

Initially, we wanted to have the Green Tea Tiramisu, but then decided to try new flavors. Here's what we got:

✔ ORANGE CHEESE (Php 100) - 1108811088110881108811088
I chose this flavor, mainly because it's the one that made me curious. Unlike premium ice cream / gelato places, we don't get to taste the mochi ice cream first before ordering. I took the risk, all because I wanted to try something new. And... I LOVED IT! It had a orange flavored mochi on the outside, and cheese ice cream on the inside. The ice cream tasted much like a frozen cheesecake. 128525 It was not too sweet, and the citrus taste helped in minimizing the richness of the cheese ice cream. A must-try! 128077

✔ RASPBERRY MILLE FEUILLE (Php 90) - 11088110881108811088
This was M's choice, which was good as well, but a bit too sweet for our liking. It had raspberry mochi with raspberry filled frozen custard filling with puff pastry bits. 128076 I loved the texture the puff pastry gave to this dessert -- there is a distinct crunch with each bite! I wonder how they made such an intricate dessert... 128586

Aside from the yummy desserts that's light but satisfying, we also loved the service! I failed to get the name of our server, but he was very accommodating, and even helped us split each mochi ice cream ball into two so we get to try both flavors (even without us telling him to!). 128076

Hooray for awesome and cozy dessert places! 128158

Right after a great Katsu Sora lunch we decided to get dessert at Mochicream Cafe which was right outside. Their Cafe Mocha had great flavor without being cloyingly sweet. I also ordered the orange chocolate marshmallow which whose flavors were very rich yet refreshing. I was so tempted to order another one.

I like their mochi (bf DOES NOT on the other hand, too weird daw for him) but it was our first time to try their cakes... Tried the almond dacquios, not too sweet but was really just okay for me... I loved their Matcha espresso- as in matcha spiked with an espresso shot... Different, unexpected, enjoyable!128525 but pretty expensive...

Service was fast! Staff were helpful... But the place was weird, not conducive for conversation... It's literally the walkway to Katsusora and Hokkaido Ramen Santouka... It's pretty noisy and it's distracting when lots of people walk by...
