This is where i first dated my ex. I know, its not a good start for a review, but I'm here for the food, so lemme push memories aside and get to the point. I love their salmon sashimi. It melts in my mouth. We both loved the way it matched our chilled chardonnay. Its love. Its a perfect pair, realizing it even more while swirling blissfully the silky piece of pink fish around, waiting as it slowly fades away. Must have been an omen about our relationship. Oh yeah, back to food. I ended up finishing two servings of it, same as she did. Such a copy cat! She didn't even use the wasabi! What a waste! Im still referring to the unused wasabi. Anyhow, the place holds a special place in my heart - after all, its where the love affair of chardonnay and salmon sashimi started - a pair meant to fade away, leaving me fed up yet happy. Oh, its food I'm talking about.

I waited a few days to post this just in case there was any collateral damage to my body from eating- pleased to report there are no averse effects.

Sashimi is fresh - cold sake and beer make any meal 36% better and staff was friendly.

We are regular diners here and today we ordered:

California maki-128077128077128077128077128077
Ebi tempura maki-128077128077128077128077128077
Crunchy Kani maki-128077128077128077128077

For myself I always order the katsudon with special request of curry sauce. -128077128077128077128077128077

Food - excellent! Yummy!
Service- good
Ambiance- ok - we usually dine outside specially if the weather is cool and fresh.

Downside, have split shift timings and indoor seating is not baby stroller friendly. So you won't have a choice but to seat outdoors.

Ciao,

Carol128139

This is a late post. My friends and I were reunited last Saturday. The best part of being with them was the Japanese way! We were all Japanese food lovers, just for everyone to know 128522

We ordered A LOT here coz we were so famished then. We had the Vegetable Kakiage, tuna sashimi, tekamaki, shrimp tempura, mixed seafood meal, pasta aglilio (oil-based pasta with basil), harashi donburi, and spicy tuna sushi. I can attest that ALL of them were excellent to devour! 128522128077 Nothing, as in nothing were off. Except that they were all pricey for our budget! Hahaha!

They were true to their name. As I have read in other reviews, Mogu means fresh, and shinsen means bite. So expect to have a FRESH BITE of their menu when you pay a visit to Serendra Piazza 128522

Their menu price ranges from P300-P700 depending on the dish that you will order, and its worth the price, that's all I have to say 128522

Unagi Foie Gras Quartet -we had this as an appetizer...Delicious! (photo above) We also had the tempura and some sushi and those were good as well. It's a bit pricey though. But still, I'd eat here again.

My mom ordered the wagyu beef and that was to die for!

128077 Maybe it's because I was craving for gyoza.. But i really liked Mogu's version. It's a bit small but freshly cooked and quite good.

Mogu's MoBaTo (mozzarella, basil, tomato) pizza is simply delicious. It's something you can actually replicate at home (if you have an oven and you know how to make dough :p). I find the dough a bit stiff and crusty though. I prefer a softer, tortilla-like texture. 9786

Nowhere else will you get to eat Maki, Tempura and thin crust pizza in one sitting. All dishes were mighty tasty too! For a Japanese restaurant, their Pizza's better than other Italian places.

Regine E and I came to Mogu for an information session of an MBA school. They ordered assorted sashimi platters, crunchy crabstick rolls, tempura, and some other assortment of rolls! I didn't get to take a picture since I was nahihiya to the hosts. Hahahaha 128539

Anyway, the sashimi was pretty good, especially the salmon and tuna. Actually even the other fish were good, like the marlin. The tempura was interesting, since it was coated with crunchy breadcrumbs a la karaage rather than the usual tempura. It was fairly crunchy and as Reg described it: not "madaya", meaning they use whole prawns! 127844

If I recall correctly, this place is in the mid to high end price range, so we were quite lucky to have our food covered by the school! 127881

Since most of the restos at Serendra was full, Adan and I decided to eat at Mogu (actually, I said Marie H reviewed the place and she liked it128520)

We got the tuna sashimi, gyoza and Harami.

At first I was annoyed because of the poor service or more like discriminated service. You see, we came in about 15 mins earlier than the family (pinoy mom and Japanese dad and kids) seated beside us, but, they were served earlier than us. 128561 What made it worse was that they ordered a whole bunch and each order came almost all the same time, whereas they forgot our Harami order 128545 The waitstaff was fairly attentive to them whereas they ignored us most of the time.

The saving grace for this place is really the Harami. If not for the really tender marbled beef with the sweet sauce, this place would have earned "hate" from me.128548

Sigh 128530 good food and good service go hand in hand, one cannot simply rely on the other
