Saturday lunch can get chaotic. And Mongkok is no exception, we were lucky to get the last table before they wait listed the other guests.

Service can get a little spotty. No one was attending to our table so I being the impatient diner that i am, stood up and grabbed the menu from the cashier counter. After flagging down their kind staff did they only set up our table and took our orders. In fairness to them, the service after was fast. Our food came in succession after the slow start.

I love how satisfying their Mongkok Rice, ulam in itself. The Seafood Pansit can easily feed 4 people. It was full of seafood, meat and vegetable. Very tasty even without adding calamansi. The lemon chicken was soft and the lemon sauce was tart. Will visit again and hope that service will be improved. Cleanliness can do a spot check as well.

Senior discounts honored. Kudos.

Ever reliable comfort food of Yang Chow Fried Rice, Cantonese Chow Mein and Salt & Pepper Spareribs for this round at Mongkok.

Loved the salty, crunchy and slightly spicy Salt & Pepper Spareribs although it was a bit tough to slice and chew. The Cantonese Chow Mein was flavorful. The serving was generous. The Yang Chow Fried Rice is your usual yummy Chinese Fried Rice. Both Congees (Sliced Chicken Congee and Pork with Century Egg Congee) were bland and needed to be drowned in soy sauce. They were very heavy on the tummy.

Service though needs to be improved. It didn't seem like they could handle the Sunday dinner rush. They need to be more alert and attentive.

4 star rating still because of the delicious Yang Chow Fried Rice, Cantonese Chow Mein and Salt & Pepper Spareribs.

Just a very light lunch (my second lunch actually for that day 128563) - fookien fried rice and steamed fish fillet with garlic. I liked both dishes, felt like I was just eating at home 9786

My 2nd time to try Mongkok but my first time here in Glorietta branch. We probably ordered too much. We were so hungry so my husband ordered the ff:
Fookien fried rice, Camaron Rebosado, Siomai, Sweet and sour fish fillet.
Big servings and inexpensive food. I suggest it would be better to eat here with a big group. We tried to finish our orders but eventually got hilo and umay. Too much msg i guess.

Everytime I crave for something dimsum, I always go to North Park. But when North Park is not available, I go to Mongkok. Tsk. Also ordered Beef Ampalaya for dinner. Try it! 9786

Something is wrong with their sweet and sour and lemon dishes 128534

Went here with my friend and we ordered the sweet and sour fish and pepper squid. The sweet and sour fish tasted like kalawang. So we told the waiter and he said that they'll change it with another dish nalang.

So we went back another time cause we thought they fixed the kalawang issue. We ordered the lemon chicken. When the food arrived we tasted it, and ta dah, it still tasted like kalawang. -_- Again, we called the waiter and asked why our food tasted like that, and he said "ay ma'am ganyan po talaga lasa niyan" -__-

Their yang chow is good tho. But i wouldn't come back -_-

After my movie date with my mom, of course popcorn can't make our tummies happy. We decided to eat heavy since it was after lunch and we haven't eaten heavy meal yet. Since I had my salary, I told her to decide where to eat. Then she was confused where to eat, she wanted Max's because she wanted to taste the good cook of chicken, but she saw this Mongkok restaurant and her mind suddenly changed and felt that she was craving for chinese food.

We ordered just little meals for the two of us. Fookien fried rice, shrimp roll and beef siomai. Which according to my mom, we should have variety of food to taste. Hahaha!

We liked the food actually. We had to compare all the chinese restaurants we have tasted. Hmm not so sure with my sentence huh! 128586128586128586 anyway going back, we really liked all we ordered. And my mom said that she will recommend it to my sister so that the next time we will hang out, we're going to try another set of meal in Mongkok.

Fookien fried rice has so many toppings already unlike the other fried rice in other restaurants. The balanced sweetness and saltiness, it was all perfect for our tongue. Beef siomai was just ordinary yet good and the shrimp roll was the best. The tenderness! Ohhhh, really heaven.

Pluuuus! Prices are worth it. BUT!!! Not the service! 128585128584128530 we just waited for so loooong!!! But we actually forgot it after we have tasted all the food. Hahaha

Ending this with sayin, I MISS LOOLOOING!!!!!! 97869786978697869786

Went here to try Chinese for my birthday and gosh, the service was so bad. The waiter said it'll just take 15 minutes for our order. We waited for like 45 minutes already and then the waiter came back saying they lost our order! The waiters were just walking around and not minding us. I was totally pissed off cause it is my birthday and had our dinner past 9 already, like every store is preparing to close na. Although their Beef Wanton is good (photo), will not go back.

Eating here the second time. All the food tastes the same as the last time we ate here...consistency-- I like that.

Except for the service, talagang consistent! They still cluster on one side. Very hard to call their attention:(

Hi everyone! 128522 Yay for my first looloo post! Anyway, For me, the food was okay. Very chinese though the service really sucks big time. They don't serve the food all at once and the waiters and waitresses are not that much accommodating. They don't even smile and they don't respond at an instant when you call them.

All in all my rating is average only. Though if you are craving for chinese food, this is one place where you can satisfy your craving! Love their dim sums. 128077127858127860

Til my next post!

For serving this big, the price was quite cheap and affordable. Each rice bowl costs 170 or 180. Somewhere in that price range.

Although food was great, service was so-so. Waiters were not attentive and trust me, calling their attention was not easy! They we're all clustered in one side of the room and when one sees you, they would pinpoint each other and when they walk towards you, they would walk like they're strolling down the park128543

I could've given this restaurant a perfect 5, but with that service. Sorry, I have to deduct one star.128529

I used to love this place back in the day BUT with the sad-looking Xiao Long Bao like this... well, they risk the wrath of the dumpling gods...

But seriously, the skin is too thick. Little to no soup (which by the way was lukewarm). No ginger on the Chinese vinegar dipping sauce. They just successfully convinced me not to go back EVER.

My old time favorite Chinese fastfood. Was surprised that they have new menu items and ordered Smoked Duck Rice Topping and it was really good. Their Dimsum, on the other hand, pales in comparison with the other recent Chinese resto discoveries. But I give the high rating based on the duck alone... that yummy yummy smoked duck. QUACK!

Lackluster Chinese food... That still reeks of the taste of Filipino food, which is usually what we're trying to avoid when eating food that isn't of Filipino origin... No Ho fan, but what they lost for in selection and quality, they gained in quantity. Extremely filling if you order the chow mein or rice dishes. The rice toppings are a pretty good value and the portion is just right. Fast food comparable price, in a healthier dish.
