Food
So-so.
Nothing's too spectacular in terms of overall taste. But is a good filler when you're just hungry.

Service
Fair.

Cleanliness

Then again it's pretty easy to give it another bad rating. Hoping I don't get food poisoning.

The food isn't that good and service is terrible. And the 4 Treasure Roll looks so unappetizingly raw. The chicken was still pink.

Siao long pao is all thick, tasteless batter and no soup. Tasted liked it was nuked first then dumped into a steamer.

The hostess didn't even apologize or offer me a refund.

I'm too hungry and pissed off to change the rating to one star.

What happened to this place?!

The two dishes featured on the photo are the ff:

Salt and Pepper Squid

- Price: P280
- Serving is good for 2 - 3 persons

Taste: The right amount of saltiness or spiciness. Some may find it oily though. It also comes with a vinegar dip.

Fookien Fried Rice

- Price: P280 (Large Size)
P200 (small size)
- Serving is good for 2 - 4 persons for the Large size
2 - 3 for the small size

Taste: This is the type of Rice that I usually order in this restaurant. I like this because it has seafoods toppings on it that may serve as a viand already for the rice.

In the spirit of CNY, decided to grab a bite in Mongkok. I think it's one of the very few, if not the only, Chinese restaurants in Shang. Huhu so sad, but the brighter side is the food is good! And serving size is just right. Mongkok is actually pretty old already, but it's nice that they finally upgraded their furniture and tableware. Good job! The food is still the same. I will probably keep coming back here when I have my Chinese food cravings when I'm in Shang, especially salted fish fried rice and salt and pepper spareribs (more meat than bones over here!!!)128076

Seafood Noodle Soup - worth the price and perfect with chili sauce. With fish, shrimp, squid, sea cucumber.

Service is quite quick compared to others. No service charge!

After running errands with my brother at Shangri-La he just couldn't wait to have lunch at home. Frankly I wanted to try something new at the East Wing like those Chicken and Waffles at Kettle. But to gain my Best Sister of the Year Award I let him picked the restaurant. Knowing my brother he only eats Chinese food or anything typically deep fried. Mongkok was the cheapest Chinese restaurant around and one of our faves. We ordered the yang chow, 2 orders of siomai, sweetsour pork and crispy seafood noodles to go. Bro almost finished the entire bowl of yangchow. He doesn't really care if it comes from the Peking Garden or Chowking just as long its yangchow and its paired with soimai.

(Photo was taken in Sta. Lucia mall) My most favorite branch is the one in Shangrila. Aside from the welcoming staff and the ambiance if definitely recommend their dimsum. From siomai to hakaw, then their KUCHAY (veggie wrapped in hakaw wrapper) and of course their Yang Chao Rice 128077

I would have given this resto a 1 or 2 if not because of the serving size and taste of the food. The experience was horrible because of the cockroaches and bad service we had.

I hope their management does something about the roaches!

This resto is a budget friendly resto. You can order one viand and two cups of rice without hurting your wallets and sacrificing taste.

We will still comeback for sure.

We went for Chinese food one Sunday night. We ordered mixed vegetables and beef brisket pot. Both tasted good. The serving size was okay but the service needed improvement. We had to ask for the bill twice before they gave it to us. We even saw a cockroach roaming around the wall and tables.

Since this restaurant serves decent Chinese food and is fairly cheap, we'll still go back but we'll make sure to choose a seat far from the wall next time.

Tried this a week ago with Rina. I'm not into Chinese food but anyway we still tried this one. I wanna judge. Lol. So we both ordered Sweet and Sour Fish. At first, I kinda underestimated the serving cos I thought it wasn't enough for me. (Ang takaw ko haha) but I was wrong. Hahaha! Madami pala and very hot when it was served. First bite, hmmmm yummy! But later on, I got the "umay" effect na. 128529 ang asiiiim. Mukhasim! And it was so saucy 128542 yung rice punong puno na ng sauce... Huhu. But okay naman, sobrang umay lang talaga. :))

I wasn't supposed to eat anymore since I was still full from my silantro-mad marks food trip, but who can say no to free food? Haha.

I ordered the Wanton noodle soup. I like the soup very tasteful. I also like that the noodles are thin and it was cooked perfectly. The wanton was also good.

The waiter had such a hard time taking note of our orders! My lolo kept on saying beef tendin, but the waiter kept on repeating beef wantin. Haha.

3 stars because, it's really nothing special. Haha. Not a restaurant i'd go to when Im hungry.

Food was just above the fast food quality
Service was not ok personnel were not that attentive to customers.
Ambience not ok too because table was served with chopsticks with calamansi droppings
Bowls and utensils look old already

My second time to eat at Mongkok was not good. I actually liked my first time Mongkok experience in Galleria.

Hakaw wasn't available along with the other dimsum I wanted.

The servers wasn't that accommodating, too. Hai!

I ended up with beef noodles and rolled something dimsum.

Still a really good place to chow and fulfill that Chinese food craving. What it may lack in private ambience, it makes up for the great tasting dishes.
