We wanted to do our bit to help Mother Nature and have a fun adventure in the process. Montemar's Grand Pawikan Day turned out to be the perfect match. We donated to the cause of pawikan conservation and were given a chance to each adopt a baby sea turtle. We named them Mikey, Luzvimindo, Pawiker, Consuelo, Perlish Elle and my own Pedro. As the sun began to set, we released our babies five meters from the water and watched them instinctively crawl, slowly but surely towards the surf. While the girls and AJ cheered them on, I could not help mixed feelings of attachment, sadness, excitement and hope. For a moment, I was one with Pedro as he breached the crashing waves and started his lifelong swim. With camera in hand, I documented the start of his journey from the shore to the sea. I joined him in the water and recorded his first ten meter dash to freedom. The sun was halfway down the horizon when AJ, the girls and I said our fondest goodbyes. In my mind I could not help but wish that our pawikans would someday come back to this unspoiled shoreline and by serendipity meet the children of my children and continue this circle.

Thank you Montemar for a wonderful experience and valuable life lesson.

We loved the place so much! Not a crowded place, you can really relax with your family plus the room rates are reasonable and the food is also good. For the booking you have to contact them ahead of time to make sure that the target date will be available and payment should be dposited ahead of time, no walk ins allowed. I want to go back again and just relax and enjoy the place! The view is very relaxing and the place is huge, there are a lot of activities that you can do like playing volleyball, badminton (which me and my daughter did), there is also a football area, treehouse, pools, banana boat, daytours, etc.. Your stay will be worth it!

#monteMOREMOREMORE! Last hurrah with the family before I become a working girl! My pick of destination definitely exceeded our expectaions!

Sadly we couldnt swim in the beach as they warned us of strong waves. So we had to settle with wading, but that wasnt a problem as the beach had sand that was brown yet fine and the water was sooo clear! Definitely coming back for this beach when the sun decides to be more showy hahaha 128513

They have 3 pools, 2 for guests and 1 specific for members only. Since we were just guests we just stayed in the pool seen in the picture. Even if it was small we had it all to ourselves as it is currently lean season in the resort.

I was expecting little from the food as I read previous posts saying meals were more of a hit and miss. We were glad to have consistent hits with all our meal choices! The turon leche flan, chicken teriyaki, baked pork belly and sinigang lechon kawali are all good! Definitely some meals you should try when here. The pork belly was close to rack's flavor! Odiba 128541 Prices were high but were expected for a resot but serving sizes were big so sulit naman.

Service is something in this resort. Everyone greets you with a smile and all requests are granted. Definitely something to be commended on 128522

The room we stayed in was big, we had a loft that fit 4 adults. Priced at 7k a night, we enjoyed our stay!

Can't wait to be back! 97289728

Went here just for a day tour but we wind up staying overnight. That's how much we loved this resort.

I was itching to go to the beach. And a quick research lead me to this resort in Bagac.
We left manila around 11am on a monday morning. With a few stopovers, we arrived in Montemar around 1 30pm. It wasn't hard to locate the resort at all since a few posters will guide your way.

It was so peaceful and quiet. The resort was well-maintained and well-landscaped. Trees and plants of all sort were all over the resort ground making it more intimate.

The daytrip fee was 1000 /person. The 500 was actually consumable which you can use to pay for the food in their restaurant.

There were few cottages at the beach and some chairs with tents over them. Im not sure if those were for rent but since we were the only ones there, i guess they allowed us to use it for free.

The sand was fine and powdery. It feels so soft under my feet. (Though its not completely white and more of a cream) The beach was so calm and its so clear. Its perfect for swimming especially for kids.

There were two pools at the resort but i didn't had the chance to try them since I stayed at the beach all day.

When sunset came, i was in awe. The sun painted the sky in different vibrant colors. And i was just sitting on my beach blanket staring at it wishing everyday could be just like that.

Thats the moment i realized I couldn't leave HAHA so we approached the front desk and ask if we could book a room and she said yes. We booked the deluxe room (4400 approx) + 1 extra person (1300) she also deducted our daytrip fee from the rate.

The rooms were clean and spacious. It also has a balcony that leads to a path towards the beach or pool. I just didn't like the CR as much because its a little cramped. Also, there is no wifi :( the wifi is only available at their front office and the resto. We had to shell out 300 pesos to rent their globe tattoo pocket wifi. But at-least the internet speed was quite okay :)

We ordered some food from the restaurant and it was actually quite good. Some can be expensive though but the serving size is quite big.

Other activities were also available for a fee. They have volleyball court and football court. They also have water activities and island hopping tours.

All in all, i really enjoyed our time in montemar. The staff were very courteous and nice. The resort was well maintained. I will surely come back soon and stay longer.

Pros:
-near manila 2.5hrs travel time
-well maintained resort
-clean beach and fine sand
-courteous staff
-plenty of activities to try

Cons:
-no wifi in rooms
-bathroom was quite cramped
-food from restaurant can be expensive
-you cant bring food and drinks (but they dont really check HAHA)
-no pets allowed

Not too crowded. Kids will love it here! They have turtle releasing every weekend at 5PM. You can choose to check in on a loft type for 5 or ocean view with veranda. Pool is to die for! Food is OK.

You definitely don't see anything like this in Manila. 9728

While a little farther than places like Pico de Loro or Anvaya, Montemar is still a gorgeous beach resort to visit. It's open to non-members too (at reasonable prices, we paid 8500 for a room good for 4) so that's always a bonus!

The rooms are clean and the staff members are really nice. There's only one restaurant at the place, so it really limits your dining options. Luckily, the food is always good. Be sure to try their BINAGOONGAN WITH CHOCOLATE and the TURON DE LECHE FLAN.

Something else that's cool is that if you're lucky, you get to help release baby turtles! I think it's part of a conservation effort for the pawikans in Bataan. :)

The 1000 pesos fee for a daytrip was definitely worth it! The beach was wonderful. The shore though artificial was fine. Amenities were superb. I liked how clean the place was. The food was expensive like all resorts are but the view the beach the everything was spectacular. Definitely a must see place in bataan. I liked this place better than las casas though. The beach of montemar was way finer and clearer.

Parents had a company outing in this lovely place. Though there were alot of nice things to see, I still can't help but give negative feedback as well.

✔️ PLACE. Very clean and peaceful. A great way to spend with your family and friends. Rooms were clean as well. My family had to stay in a smaller room since were just a small family unlike the others who were many. There are pools for guests & exclusively for members. There's also a hanging bridge which was fun for me and my cousins hihi. It's also a nice place for teambuilding since there are a lot of things you can do. Aside from the activities, you are surrounded by a lot of trees that's why you can surely take a break from all the stress that you receive in school and work & surrounded my mother nature.

✔️ FOOD. I wouldn't say that the food's perfect but it's enough that you can get another serving. I really loved their liempo & had that for dinner hihihihi.

✔️ WATER SPORTS. There was kayaking, jetski, banana boat and that paddle car thingy (forgot what its called hehe). Super duper fave is the jetski !!!

✔️ STAFF. They were friendly & made sure that everything was accommodated. They were even ready with lifeguards everytime we would go by the beach or the pool. The lifeguards would make sure that you were safe from what you're doing.

✖️ PRICE. Though we had a fun time, at the end of the day, it would still be the amount that we has to pay in our whole stay. Renting of the water sports activities is also expensive. @-) && i know that one room costs 4 or 5k/ night. Also, when getting a new sheet for the bed, it's an add-on of 3k. Seryoso 3k? -___-

✔️STRICT. I don't mind if a place is strict but the fact that they require you on or before 12pm of check out time, you MUST get out of your room. Or else, they will charge you. Even though my tita tried to talk to the staff if they can extend it til 2pm since it is expected in a teambuilding that there will be some people who are slow in packing their stuff. So with this, we really had to hurry in terms of taking a bath and fixing our things. Also, since my cousin didn't have an extra sheet in their room, the staff were not allowed to move other sheets from another room to their room. You are also not allowed to bring food inside your room. If nahuli kayo, may isa pang bayad. Daming dami arte nakakainis na =)) but of course when you want to bring food inside your hotel room, just do it discreetly that they won't see you.

Very relaxing and serene.

The place was spacious, the view is great and the beach is well taken care of-no kalat. Rooms are spacious and clean. There are lots of housekeeping staff to accommodate guest requests.

The beach club has 5 inns, 2 public/guest swimming pools and 1 exclusive pool for club members.

La Marea, the club's restaurant offers modern Pinoy dishes like Sinigang na lechon kawali and Binagoongan with Dark Chocolate. Their foods was a hit or miss kind, may mga masarap meron din namang kulang sa lasa (like the Hainanese Chicken which tastes like matabang na Tinola). Food are expensive, it ranges from 250-400/person. Since the resort is 45minutes away from Balanga town proper, fast foods are malayo talaga, no choice but to dine in.

This place is great for team building/ company summer outings.

Security is also commendable.

PS: be careful on the things you bring, they are strict and corkages are sakit sa bulsa. Ang mahal! Itago na Lang sa luggage or sa car.128521128521

So many bad reviews for this place on tripadvisor, but when my family and I tried it we absolutely loved it! Our room was spacious, clean and had its own loft. The beach was not super clean (we found plastic wrappers of food and even sanitary napkins there 128547) but we had it all to ourselves.

Customer service was excellent. We stayed at their pool for hours, and my sister went horseback riding (although they don't have a proper saddle or even stirrups 128078).

The food at their restaurant was just okay, and a little pricey for its taste.

Would definitely come back here even if it is quite expensive! So worth it 128513

Plus- nice pool and newly renovated rooms. Cons- no where else to go but the resort, pool or beach choice only. You can also eat only at their dining hall and pool tends to get full of people and kids when they're fully booked. But all around, I had a relaxing time. My kids (all below 5yrs old) enjoyed just swimming the whole day.

The place was really nice and awesome. We had a cool room, the beach was clean, good food, accommodating staff and what's really special about this place is they let us touch and release little sea turtles out to sea. It was my first time holding one, the little thing felt like rubber in my hand. Anywho, It was a fun experience and we got lucky because releasing little sea turtles were seasonal.

The stay here is expensive but worth it.

The relaxing sound of the sea caressing the light brown sandy beach; the warmth of a bonfire amidst the cool sea breeze; the sight of a full moon and a near-cloudless sky revealing the constellations above; these are a few of the wonderful things you'd experience staying even just one night at Montemar in Bagac, Bataan.

My friends and I spent a weekend there and I can say that it probably has the best beach two hours away from metro manila.

The service was good and the food was excellent (must try: the Turon de leche flan), and there was the added bonus of us being there in time for the release of 100+ hatchling sea turtles back into the sea!

It was a really fun experience and it was well worth the 33km my friends and I biked to get there (plugging Philippine Bike Tours, check em out on Facebook!).

I'm definitely looking forward to going back there soon!

I just had one of the best pawikends ever. Aside from the fact that Montemar is probably the best beach resort you can visit without having to fly (it's REALLY nice, trust me!), during a certain time of the year, they have something special in store for guests -- you get to help release baby turtles to the sea!

The beach resort also acts as a conservation center. They collect the turtle eggs, let them hatch, then in small batches, release them when ready. It's something I thought I'd only get to see on the Discovery Channel! This alone is worth the visit.

The food is SUPERB -- pork binagoongan with dark chocolate. Yes, that's right, dark chocolate. I could have this every day. It's now on my list of all-time favorite Pinoy dishes. That, and the turon de leche flan. It's turon but instead of banana, it's filled with leche flan. Oh sweet mother of turtles, it was good.

Rooms are really nice and reasonably priced! Go with a member and you get 'em even cheaper. If I ever stumble upon a billion dollars, I'd seriously consider retiring and moving here for life. HAHA
