Been lookin for an affordable place to stay in Bohol and Moonfools is one of the places that was shown in agoda.

Aside from the rate per night, the style of their bunk beds and lounge area caught my attention. The bunk beds look like the capsules in japan. The place looks neat, lounge area looks comfortable and fun too.

When I got there, the bunk that was assigned to me was different from the ones that caught my attention online but I saw those bunks too. I was assigned in a room with 8 bunks and my bunk was at the farthest part of the room and at the corner which I like.

I thought I would have a hard time staying at this place but it felt otherwise. I thought it would be uncomfortable. Even if it is a shared room I still felt the privacy because my bunk was at the corner and there is a curtain on every bunk bed. So you can still stay hidden in a room of 6-8 people. Lol. Washroom and comfort rooms were surprisingly clean. I didn't have a hard time taking showers compared to the common washroom from other places and it looks cute too. There are hooks and hangers where you can hang your clothes and also a soap dish. There are bidets, tissues and the flush are working. A big plus!!

There's wifi at the whole place even inside the room. Love their common area bec. It is the place where you'll get to meet other solo travelers and talk. Breakfast was served at the common area where you can have unlimited toast, jam, butter, coffee, hot chocolate and bananas

Other things I love about the place is that it is near everything and it is very convenient. There's a bar downstairs called The Lone Star Bar and Grill. They offer buy 1 take 1 cocktails at P99!! There's also a convenience store and the place is just near the tourist information where you can book all of the tours you'd want to take while in Bohol. Moonfools is just a 5minute walk from Alona beach and a 5 minute ride from Dumaluan beach. The place is also walking distance from all of the nearby bars and restaurant. Talk about everything in one place huh?

They also offer affordable group tour packages but if you're traveling solo I suggest that you book your tour at the tourist information just beside the hostel bec. It's cheaper. They offer reasonable prices and can join you to some of the other tourists. They have bikes and motors for rent too.

If you want to use one of their lockers you have to bring your own padlock. Unfortunately, I didn't know about that and there were no available padlocks for sale so I always make sure that my macbook is securely kept everytime I go out. Uhm, actually I just made sure that it is well hidden under the pile of clothes on my bed. Haha. Good thing it didn't get stolen.

I really enjoyed my stay here at Moonfools. Great value for money and I would definitely recommend it if you are traveling solo. I also extended my stay here for another 2 nights 128522

Agoda price - P432/night with breakfast
