Kal K. and I met a friend for lunch in Motorino last Saturday. I'll be honest, I'm a bit of a tough critic when it comes to Italian food. I really find it hard to find a place I enjoy or can call authentic. I did, however, really enjoy Motorino. The pizza is almost what it tastes like back home and I'll probably be back when craving Italian pizza.

They have pretty cool interiors. The brick oven is visible so its fun to see them taking pizzas out of the oven.

We ordered the following:
Pizza: I can't remember the name but it was pepperoni and anchovies. This was awesome.
Caesar salad: I wasn't able to try this but my friend seemed to enjoy it.
Spaghetti and Meatballs: The sauce lacked a bit of salt and personally I found the noodles overcooked. The meatballs were great though. They managed to recreate how meatballs in Italy taste. Very tender and tasty. Most restaurants manage to overcook the meatballs. This was something like what my grandma would make for me as a child.

I also tried what I fondly call "wine all you can" (I'm not sure if this is the actual name, it's possible that it is) which got me pleasantly buzzed by the end of my lunch. You basically can choose white or red wine and drink as much as you want for an hour and a half. Not bad at all for P395.

We had a pretty good time here. The place is clean, staff is attentive and food is good. :)

Have a taste of authentic Neapolitan pizzas, baked in wood-fired ovens. In photo: Carne Trio of smoked ham, prosciutto and sausage

This is not my first time to try Motorino. We ate here last July for the birthday celebration of my boyfriend's sister, and I remember craving for their prosciutto pizza ever since.

I don't usually crave for Italian dishes, so when I did, I made sure I got help from Motorino.

We ordered the prosciutto pizza, aglio olio, and caesar salad:

127811Caesar Salad P315 127775127775127775127775127775
Their take on their caesar salad is simple. It's just lettuce in their caesar dressing plus lots of cheese. (Cheese lover here!) i think what I liked about their caesar salad is that it wasn't overdressed. Plus, the lettuce pieces were not bitter, unlike what I sometime encounter in other salads.

127837 Aglio Olio with bacon P360 127775127775
It was hard for us to mix the pasta. I'm not sure if it's because there wasn't enough sauce or because it was poorly cooked. The pasta was also bland. The flavor of the bacon wasn't infused in the oil. Although the bacon bits were yummy 128523 I love bacon when it's not crispy, just like the bacon bits in this pasta dish.

127829Prosciutto Pizza P625 127775127775127775127775127775
I love this! Lots of prosciutto on a pizza, plus arugula leaves. Warning: you might find the prosciutto salty, but it's still delicious 128518 I found it easy to eat this by rolling the pizza. That way, the prosciutto and arugula won't fall off.

127856Dessert 127775127775127775127775127775
I don't know the name of our dessert since it was free (thanks to Booky), but it was delicious! I liked the combination of the chocolate cake and the milk, they balance each other out.

Overall, I think the place is a bit pricey for the serving (there were 3 of us but all the food was just enough. We didn't even have a hard time finishing everything), but at least they serve good food, and that's what makes me want to visit them again 128522

The pizza had burnt crusts all over. I think their oven was too hot or the cook manning the oven isnt experienced yet. We complained and they said it's "really supposed to be that way". Oh you mean had black charred bottoms? Tastes bitter??

Our salad was served late bec the server forgot to punch it in.

Yay for another newly opened restaurant, a few steps away from the office!128522

I've seen this resto in Greenbelt before, but have never tried it. After reading good reviews though, my officemates and I had early dinner on the first day it opened (excited much).

We ordered the Ham and Mushroom Pizze Prime and a pasta dish I unfortunately couldn't remember the name of. I was at first weirded out by the latter because the sauce seemed "soupy," but it tasted quite good. The pasta was very al dente and had good flavor. The pizza's taste and consistency was reminiscent of Gino's.

The highlight of the night, for me, was the wine. I had a glass of Gragnano at PHP195. I'm no expert, but it was fruity and light which is how I like my doze of wine.

All in all, a satisfactory visit. Nothing out of the ordinary, but willing to give their other food options a try in the next visit 128077🏼
