I used to just pass by Motorino without having a second look at it. I know they serve pizza and pasta.

When I saw Arianna K's review for a different branch and she gave it 4 stars, I thought it was worth a shot – since she is part Italian too. 128516

Had a Friday lunch here with a couple of my officemates and we decided to order one pizza and two pasta dishes.

CLASSIC MOTORINO MEATBALLS • Php 450
The classic spaghetti and meatballs! The meatballs weren't like what I was used to. It lacked flavor for me. The pasta on the other hand was cooked wonderfully! Al dente!!!

CLAMS AND BACON • Php 375
This was an oil based pasta dish cooked with white wine. I haven't tried a lot of pasta dishes cooked with wine so I can't really compare it with anything but I did like the dish. The clams were clean and fresh, the cook on the pasta was al dente, and the bacon... Well is bacon. Hahaha!

PROSCIUTTO DI PARMA • Php 625
Together with their menu, they had this guide to authentic Neapolitan pizza. On the lower right corner they have two options on how you can enjoy your pizza. 127829 I folded mine in half and dug in!! 128518 Prosciutto and arugula 10084️They do not skimp on the toppings!! They were generous with the prosciutto slices. 128518128518128518

I liked the vibe of the place which felt like a diner but a bit posh as well. Overall, the visit was a great one, albeit a bit pricey too. 128556Haha, might visit again to try their other pizzas and pasta!

I first tried Motorino Pizza by accident in HK several years ago. My experience left a positive memory and so when they opened here i had pretty high expectations (and knew it was gonna be expensive when converting to Pesos).

They specialize in neapolitana pizza, made apparent with a chewy dough and "leopard spots" on the crust, check underneath the pizza to see 'em.

I liked it, especially the pizza with spicy italian sausage and THE MOTORINO MEATBALLS!!! The meatballs are exactly what left a lasting impression on me from their HK and i'm glad they pulled it off here. But as for the pizza... hhmm... i dno, it was good but it didnt give me as satisfying an impression as i had years ago. I cant put my finger on it. The pasta os decent as well. The desserts, well, you can skip those in my opinion.

But anyway, if you're up for a different kind of pizza thats more on the roasted tomato, sour, and tangy side and (except for the quattro formaggi) doesnt overload on the cheese... then this one's for you. Oh, and yes, do try their meatballs.

It was Friday lunch in Makati and it was expected a everyone would be eating lunch out. It's past 12nn already so pretty expected that we would have a hard time finding a place with indoor seating.

My friend ended up telling me that we'll just dine here in Motorino. They say that they're a restaurant concept from the US with brick ovens for pizza and they serve a mix of pizza and pasta.

Expected that it will be priced pretty high too given that we were readily able to find a table to seat in. So the waiter told us about the lunch special - you get your pizza, drink and dessert for about Php400 per person. Kinda steep but maybe they compensate for it with the quality. Pizza comes out first with the choice of drink, maybe I was expecting too much but my friend also agreed that our pizza got pretty burnt. Too much of the burnt charcoal taste on the bottom crust. I expected the pizza to be a bit bigger too but if you're just eating that - chances are you'll still be hungry. So we ended up ordering another pasta dish to fill us up. It was a different take on the vongole as this version was served with bacon aside from the clams. The pasta was perhaps the saving grace as it was freshly made, not the boiled pasta variety and the seasoning was nice too.

The dessert came out as the chocolate cake for me, gelato for my friend. I'm lactose intolerant so I asked that the cake be replaced for me since they poured condensed milk over it.

I need to call this out since instead of replacing the cake - they simply wiped the milk off the plate. Of course the milk already seeped in the bottom of the cake!

I decided to just let it be, not a huge fan of cake anyway so I ended up leaving the bottom of the cake for my friend to finish. He did say that the BGC branch is better for the food quality he experienced but for me and this visit - I can't give it any more than 3 stars. For not giving a proper pizza, for the cake hullabaloo but at least having a nice pasta dish. Ended up paying Php600 per person. Normally I won't complain if everything was good - but I really hope that this isn't the norm for the place. Else they won't be lasting long.

Ugh. One word. DISAPPOINTING.

I like the ambiance of the place. It was quiet. A good place probably to have wine and unwind with a couple of friends for catch up. But that's about it and the fast service. And hello, what is with the bathroom tiles? Blegh.

The food seemed yummy so we decided to try it out. We got pizza (Margherita) and pasta (Aglio Olio with Bacon). The pizza was - I'm sorry but - a crime to all pizzas.

1) I felt like I was eating tomato sauce on bread. Seriously. Where's the topping? My saving grace was the chili flakes. Which added a little flavor to this poor pizza.

2) I don't know what's with the dough but it was difficult to cut through and to bite. We tried to eat it with a knife and fork but gave up soon after because clearly we'll be able to eat the next day if we continue so we tried it the old-fashioned way of just using our hands and biting into the pizza. But even biting into it was difficult.

3) I hate the underside of the pizza. It was also charred. I mean, I've eaten a couple of brick oven pizzas and they all have these burnt places here and there but this one was just, ugh.

For supposedly a great pizza place, their pizza is way too disappointing.

The pasta was okay. Nothing really special about it.

I wished I've gone to another place to have dinner instead.

Not all pizzas are created equal. This hand tossed gourmet Carne Trio Pizza will make your pizza expectations high. It's so good, I don't mind the brick oven burned edges at all.

I've seen this place a couple of times whenever I'm in Greenbelt but I just had the chance to try it out today. I had a late lunch here with my friends (super late actually haha) and we ordered pizza, pasta and chicken wings. There were three of us (all girls) but the serving size of everything we ordered was more than enough, we didn't even get to finish the pasta and pizza. For starters we ordered their roasted chicken wings while waiting for the pasta and pizza. I know it looks like it's dumped in oil but it does not taste like that at all. There's lemon on the side in case you want it a little tangy. Next came the pizza. Their menu has this beautiful photo of a pizza that looks really great so we told the server we wanted that. It's Soppressata Piccante and it has tomato sauce, ham (?) and Italian spices (as per the server). He said that it's supposed to be spicy but none of us wanted that so we just asked for whatever makes it spicy to be removed. And it tasted just perfect. It's oven brick pizza and it has the right blend of crunch and gooey goodness. Last was the pasta. We ordered the pasta that has bacon on it (I forgot the name). I liked it really much. It had the right balance of everything. No need to add cheese or salt or whatever. I really loved the pasta itself. Notice that it looks homemade. I would definitely come back and bring my family here next time and try out more of their food.

Neapolitan pizza (Italian: pizza napoletana) is made with tomatoes and Mozzarella cheese. It can be made with ingredients like San Marzano tomatoes, which grow on the volcanic plains to the south of Mount Vesuvius and mozzarella di bufala Campana, made with the milk from water buffalo raised in the marshlands of Campania and Lazio in a semi-wild state

There are three official variants:

(1)  Pizza Marinara, which is made with tomato, garlic, oregano and extra virgin olive oil
(2)  Pizza Margherita, made with tomato, sliced mozzarella, basil and extra-virgin olive oil, and
(3)  Pizza Margherita extra made with tomato, mozzarella from Campania in fillets, basil and extra virgin olive oil.

Source:  Wikipedia

I'll be honest,  i never thought that Neapolitan pizza is that complicated,  from the type of flour used,  kneading technique,  usage of stone wood oven with an oak wood fire,  size of the crust and the time needed to cook it to achieve the right texture and elasticity.  No wonder it's expensive.  Hear this,  apparently Neapolitan pizza is a TSG product in Europe.  TSG certification attests that a particular food product objectively possesses specific characteristics which differentiate it from all others in its category, and that its raw materials, composition or method of production have been consistent for a minimum of 30 years.

Manila can now experience pizza royalty via Motorino.  A neapolitan pizzeria located in Greenbelt 3.  Upon entering the joint,  you will be greeted by friendly staff and swanky interiors.

The food.  We ordered meatballs,  i forgot the actual name of the dish (my bad).   This i can guarantee,  these babies are the baddest meatballs in town.  It is so good i wanted to eat 'em with rice. The meat is seasoned well,  you can tell that they used high quality ingredients by the taste,  spices,  subtle flavor combinations.

The Pizza.  Margherita.  One of the classic variants of Neapolitan pizza.  This is my kind of pizza,  simple and packed with flavor.  At first I've never given much thought to the simplicity of their pizza but after reading it's origins and the specifics involved in making 'em.  I have a new found respect to the folks manning the kitchen at Motorino.  The crust is hand-made,  cooked for 60 to 90 seconds using a oven specifically made for making Neapolitan.  The charred crust is known as the "leopard-spotting"  effect.

The taste.  The crust is perfect,  crunchy and the bitterness of the charred parts adds depth to the dish.  The cheese is heavenly.  Drizzle with olive oil and you have a match made in Neapolitan heaven.

And the price is just right.  You get what you paid for - quality ingredients,  good food and a taste of Naples.

I never thought that my first review for this place would not be about their pizza but this, gelato!! 128517 We were already busog from dinner but was craving something sweet when we saw a mini ice cream cart outside their store. 128513

There were only 6 flavors to choose from: dark coffee, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry shortcake, poprock something and salted caramel.

My aunt ordered coffee and we were all surprised to see that an order (95pesos) already have 3 huge scoops. We were expecting a single scoop but nope! 128541 Since I can't decide which flavor I want, I asked if my 3 scoops can be divided into 3 different flavors and they gladly agreed! hihi 1285139786128521 I got chocolate, vanilla and salted caramel.

So it was just your usual gelato but made extra special becuase of their good costumer service and huge super sulit serving! 128513128077

Can't wait to try their pizza!!! 128516

R and I decided to have a quick lunch before watching a movie and Motorino was the perfect place as it is beside the cinema.

While checking the menu, R saw the lunch for two and figured it was a good deal for PHP395. The set comes with a 13” pizza, iced tea and dessert of your choice. We chose the Mushroom and Sausage Pizza, Classic iced tea and Crimson Berry iced tea, and two gelato scoops—dark chocolate and cookie.

First to arrive were the iced tea.

It was a bit too sweet. Even [sweets lover] R had to dilute his crimson berry iced tea with water. But hey, that meant more iced tea!

The mushroom and sausage pizza was pretty good. It was tasty but not overpowering making you want to eat more! The crust though was slightly burnt so we avoided the edges.

The gelato—dark chocolate and cookie were yummy! It was creamy and was a lovely way to end the meal. I also loved the waffle crisp.

Oh, while we were halfway done, R mentioned that the lunch for two set was actually pricey because it was PHP395 per person. And it really was. Perhaps I’ll try ala carte next time.

So last week we choose to eat here with my friends.
We were a group of five. We were so thirsty that the moment we sit we asked for the water. So amazed that they put their water on bottle while serving instead of a pitcher.

So we ordered this pizza for sharing and 2 order of pasta. We choose the aglio olio with bacon. The pizza tasted yummy and nicely done but the pasta is not my tastebuds looking for. It was so oily and the pasta is so thick (ooopppss..,not my type) and the bacon cooked well in result the bacon kinda burnt.

What I like here is the ambience and the smiling staffs serving us. Maybe we'll try other menus next time.

My mom has been watching too much TV lately, KrisTV to be exact. Her resto suggestions for our usual Sunday lunch would always be the one she sees on TV. Last Easter Sunday, we can't decide where to eat in Greenbelt and she suggested Motorino. She saw it on Kris' show and she got convinced when they said it was "soooo yummy." 128527

We got three items to share-- a Quattro Formaggi pizza, Caesar Salad and Roasted Corn. The parents were not so happy with the salad. They've had cheaper yet better tasting salad in other restos. We all liked the roasted corn with oreganata butter and topped with pecorino. The pizza was so-so. Crust was thin but not too crispy. Not so memorable. 128533

The taste of their food doesn't justify the expensive price. 128532 I'd rather go to other Italian restos which offers a more legit Italian dining experience at a cheaper price.

Lesson of the day: don't believe everything you see/ hear on TV... Especially if it's from Kris. 128514

I think this place opened last year in Greenbelt. My friend and I was looking for something light for late merienda/early dinner. Since we're curious of their pizza, we ordered their carnetrio which has tomato sauce, mozzarella, smoked ham, sausage, oregano, onion, olive oil, & prosciutto bits. The waiter also offered us their GRAGNANO wine which is a perfect match with our pizza.

There are few customers inside and most of them are foreigners. I like to try their salads but the pizza is too heavy that we can't even finish the whole thing. I recommend this restaurant to couples that would like to spend a lunch date or dinner date since they also offer a "lunch for 2" and "dinner for 2". Adding to that, they have 'drink all you want wine' just ask the waiter on this promo.

The verdict:
Carnetrio - i like it, but i wished they could've added more meat on this. :-) Php 495 + SC
Gragnano wine - a really good choice, perhaps try also with their pasta and salads Php 195 + SC / glass
The price - its a bit pricey. Prepare at least 500 / head
The service - i give them a 2.5 out of 5. Some waiters are nit attentive, especially when we asked for service water. :-)

-xoxo

I had this on my list since it opened. Finally had the time to try it out, opted for Mixed greens salad and Margherita pizza. They were okay, pizza was simple and no-nonsense. Imo, it's a bit pricey.

We tried their proscuitto di parma pizza and a bit salty for me (maybe because of the parmesan cheese?) but it was okay.128516 their alfredo pasta with prawns was the best alfredo I've ever tasted.128516 so fresh and tasty! I've also loved their gelato especially the dark chocolate flavor, so creamy and bitter sweet.128516 perfect gelato for me!

Finally got to try Motorino. I ordered

Quattro Formaggi
- very cheesy and they didnt scrimp with the cheeses. You could reallt taste even the Gorgonzola. Crust was just right thickness, crispy yet chewy. 128077

Clams & Bacon Pasta
- this was also good, flavorful; but I wish the clams were not chopped so finely. I was expecting it to ve whole pieces of clams but was surprised to see that they were chopped instead.

It is quite expensive, paid Php1,100+ for this 2 dishes and we didnt even order any drinks.

Service was fast and accommodating.

Yummy pricey wood fire pizzas that are worth a try! The ambiance is perfect for quiet date nights as well. They also sell by the slice (which is a great idea for those who are by themselves and want a quick bite!). Their tiramisu is heavenly!
