Albeit being a little old, SM City Sta. Mesa's Cinema is still our (Josh and I) go-to movie place, since it's relatively near; and they are priced cheaper than most cinemas.

We watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 today, and I'm pleasantly surprised with the movie.128522 It had emotions, something that is sometimes lacking in action movies.

The airconditioning is okay, and the seats were relatively comfortable, as I had worse (Greenbelt 3) experiences in more expensive moviehouses. I also love how it never gets extremely crowded here, even for blockbuster movies! 128076

If you just want to get a quick movie fix and you're on a budget, then this s probably the best place to be!

For Php225 pesos, a movie in SM Sta. Mesa is expensive. Yes, it is priced slightly lower than other malls but those malls had better seats, cleaner bathrooms and had ushers that will assist you inside.

Not crowded, even if it's opening night, cinemas are relatively clean.

Movie date with the bf: Expendables 3. We were late for the 1:45 pm screening so we tried to catch the 2:15 show in Trinoma but the line was really long so we went back to the block for the 4pm show. I was disappointed because it's no longer reserved seating. You pay 200+ for a ticket and you can't even pick a seat. Anyway when we were inside I was afraid that they won't show much trailers due to some other reviews on SM cinemas but after the many ads and commercials, the trailers followed.

As for the movie, it was action-packed but the first 2 movies were better.

If you want to watch a movie without much hassle... this place will probably do... Expect uncomfortable seats, trash, gooey floors, icky rest rooms. (just to name a few) Tickets are cheaper but so is the "crowd" ... 128563128513128563128513

The movie theater needs renovation. chairs doesn't look comfy anymore, the sound system is not that good and make the screens bigger and wider...

Wala namang pinagkaiba yung Cinema 1 sa ibang cinemas dito. The seats were not that comfy, the trashes that were collected before us were still there and I hate it because it's just in front of the row where I was seated. Hmp. 128530 buti nalang maganda yung movie na pinanood ko. 128514128522128077100841008410084

The only thing is that this the nearest mall, so I can go here anytime.

Can we remove TV commercials in cinemas? Why don't they just play trailers? Its like we pay tickets to see TV ads while we wait, and we're compelled to finish them. Arghh!
