So L & J and I had an early lunch . Yehey Mr. Choi was now open on soft relaunch. So overall jt was 128165128165128165128165
We ordered :
White cheese seafood baked rice 128165128165128165128165128165
I love the baked rice dishes in Mr. Choi though I have not tried the red one which is tomato sauce based. This one is a meal in itself. Cheesy but not too salty, creamy with enough fish squid & shrimp bits to make a difference. A viand and rice in one dish. This is good for 3 or 2 hungry hunks.
We had the hot prawn salad 128165128165128165128165 we love this dish, but why only 4 stars ? Because the hot prawns were now in an ocean of fruit cocktail ! It used to be mostly prawn and just the right quantity of fruit salad to fight over. Not anymore. They should have upped the price instead of decreasing the prawn and increasing the salad. Hope this downtrend stops . Used to be our favorite dish here, now am not so sure.
Dimsum Plate - 128165128165128165128165 this was good . With roast chicken siomai , hakaw, seaweed & pork asado. But wait , not all asado apparently. The tasty pork asado was on top of a bed/ layer of sliced red jumbo hotdog that was bland (definitely not even tender juicy, check the photo) so what appeared at first as a good serving of pork asado was just half that, sayang.
But Mr. Choi is still definitely a good eat. But they have to decide once and for all if they want to compete w Chow king & the fastfood chinese restos or maintain a level of quality that people would be willing to pay for. Enouoh of the fruit salad filler in the hot prawn salad & hot dog slices disguised as pork asado please!
the new resto is too cramped and quite a challenge going in to and out from an inner table or booth , i can only imagine how difficult this is when all seats are taken 128165128165128165
servicd 128165128165128165128165128165 fast and attentive .
Cost about P350/pax

Treated my 80-year old mom to Chinese food and tried Mr Choi Kitchen for the first time. The resto was full even on a weekday. Had to select soft food for my mom who takes pleasure in eating only soft food. Ordered the wanton soup, mango shrimp roll, breaded fish fillet and the soft beancurd with mixed mushrooms. Also tried their four seasons shake which was very good. Food was good and tasty, servings were generous, prices of dishes were reasonable, place was clean, service was fast and service crew were friendly. Commendable are the wanton soup and the mango shrimp roll...really yummy! The only turn-off is that the place was quite noisy...not conducive for a chit-chat with mom.

Food
All good and delicious!

Service
A little slow. Crews weren't attentive to customer's call.

Cleanliness
Not so fair. Kitchen seems very cluttered from afar. Hair net zone in the kitchen inconsistently implemented. The manager actually went inside without it. Alarming practice!

I love their Hot Soya milk!
Cost: 60php (one glass)
Taste: Just your typical soya milk. Sweetness is just right, not too sweet not too bland.
You can order it hot or cold. 128523

(Best to go with congee and dimsum) 11088

Mr. Choi used to be sooo good but now it's just so so. Anyway, we ate here for my dad's birthday after hearing mass. From what was ordered I only really liked the hot prawn salad and spareribs. The spinach soup, steamed fish with garlic sauce, birthday noodles and salt and pepper squid were okay.

Been dreaming and craving Fujian/Fookien rice for a few days now 128514 Was ecstatic when mom agreed to try Mr Choi after sooo many years.

Fookien Fried Rice Php235.00
The order was good for 2-3 pax but looked quite small. Anyway, I liked it, a bit salty, lots of ingredients, but didnt quite appease my craving or maybe matakaw lang tlga ako 128514 I prefer Tao Yuan's tho.

Wanton Noodle Soup Php185.00
Loved this!

1/2 Yang Chow Php140.00
Special order for my nephew. He finished the entire plate. Nuff said 128521

Service 128077128077

Decided to go back here after several years. The fam ordered Dimsum combi (P315.00), Crispy Seafood Noodles (P250.00), Braised Patatim (P290), Soft Beancurd Mixed Mushroom (P205.00), Yang Chow Fried Rice (P230.00), Iced Tea (P65.00) and Four Seasons Shake (P90.00). The establishment has been of existence for several years and yet its funny how some of their staffs (even managers) act. Before entering our innocent energetic 3 yr old slipped. I immediately called the attention of the manager who apologized because some liquid fell on the floor. A family went ahead of us upon entering, did it have to take years to have some liquid on the floor cleaned for safety purposes? Next, an order of fish which was placed on our table and we never even ordered it. Yes the restaurant boasts one if the best Patatims, a nice serving of crispy noodles and affordable shakes, but would one risk getting frustrated with staffs and managers shouting (no kidding 128078) just to communicate wrong shifts? Such a shame for such a stable business people act improperly which is such a shame since their dishes are really good.128528

One of our favorite family restaurant!! I love their crispy noodles, chicken feet, hakaw, sweet and sour pork!!! The best thing about this place is that its relatively cheap. For a family of 5, we usually pay less than 1500 and everyone's full already. 9786

Parang nag deteriorate na quality ng food dito. :( This used to be our go-to restaurant everytime we go to Galle. Ngayon parang hilaw na ung hakao and pork siomai nila :( yun pa naman ung masarap dati. The sweet and sour pork abd fish with garlic sauce were okay.

Crispy noodles with seafood sauce. I enjoy eating this dish a lot. The noodles are freshly fried so it's real crispy. And they serve the seafood sauce separately so each diner can control how soggy or how firm their noodles stay. It's a treat crunching on the noodles alone!128523

I remembered way back when twas so good! But during our last visit, everything changed already. I dunno if they change their cook or what. 128534 Their serving size is not that generous as well. 128563

We ordered the following:

- Assorted Fried Dimsum (on the photo)
- Fishlip Soup
- Mr. Choi's Special Yang Chaw
- Brocolli with Baby Scallops
- Steamed Soy Lapu Lapu
- Salt and Pepper Spareribs
- Traditional Roasted Pecking Duck
- Birthday Noodles
- Sweet and Sour Pork
- Lapu Lapu with Mango
- Almond and Jelly in Lychee Sauce

From all those foods we ordered, I can't barely remember what stood out from the rest. Everything seems so ordinary. I wish they bring back the good food they had. 128532
