128205 We started a lil bit late around 7am then finished at 1:45pm. The thing was, there was a heavy traffic to summit due to the huge volume of participants 128560 that's why we waited for almost an hour to get the "buwis buhay shot" 128513128517

128205I am not yet contented, I will finish the 2 neighbor mountains of Pami: Mounts Binacayan & Hapunang Banoi are next ⛰

Why would you give a bad review on this place. Nature is so beautiful and view is super duper breath taking. Path and going up hill is hard but worth the risked, you will encounter spikey and sharp rocks. First climb, hahaha, scared at first thought my asthma would attack as soon as I force myself to go further. Nah! I was indeed wrong, boyfie and my bestfriend can't even believe I was able to go on the highest point. Here are the photos to proved it, enjoy!!!

My first hiking experience because i hate exercising and hiking means being fit! But since this is one of my goals this 2016, i decided to start at the nearest mountain (which is like 5 minutes away from our home).

I never thought i would be able to do these things. I experienced rock climbing without ropes and all! But the most difficult part, unexpectedly, was going down. I wore running shoes which was said to be very slippery for hiking. I really need to buy Merrell shoes for my next hiking experience.

All in all, it's a very fun experience despite all the muscle ache i'm experiencing right now. Nakakakatanggal ng pagod to see the view at the summit!

my second time to hike Mt. Pamitinan in Rodriguez, Rizal. Why i like this place? It's because of the easy trail, budget friendly and the awesome view of sierra madre range. 128507

Mt. Pamitinan, Mt. Hapunang Banoi and Mt. Binacayan in one day - the Rodriguez Trilogy.

This is, by far, the toughest hike I have done. Countless boulders and endless assault requiring full body movement and range of motion - totally not easy! The recent weather is also a major factor in the degree of difficulty. During our hike, the entire trail was slippery and our shoes were literally covered with mud. The rocky peaks have steep sections and sharp rock formations which require a lot of concentration during ascent, well as for me. The descent was a bit nerve-wracking primarily because of the slippery trail. This was way harder than aIl my major climbs to date combined. Or maybe I was just not prepared. I did not finish the trilogy, my friends did. I only did Pamitinan and Hapunang Banoi. I slipped several times and almost got killed by a bamboo stem, decided not to push through with the 3rd mountain. No regrets.

If you haven't done this or hikes that are the same before, add extra mental preparation to whatever you're expecting. But even that might not be enough (it wasn't for me!). Doable given good weather conditions.

This is not my favorite hike but one of the most memorable!

Achievement unlocked! Twin Day Hike ticked off my bucketlist! (2/2)

As I've said in my review for Mt. Binacayan, I spent my November 1st conquering my 3rd and 4th summits in one single day. The second mountain is Mt. Pamitinan. Class trail is 1-4 and has a difficulty of 3/9. We've decided to climb it after lunch. From the jump off, you need to cross the Wawa River via hanging bridge. In just 15 minutes, you will come across the junction that splits Mt. Pamitinan and Mt. Hapunang Banoi. The ascend takes 1-1.5 hours while descent takes 1-1.5 hours, still depending on your pace.

I forgot to mention that for both climbs, it is a MUST to wear gloves. It will not only help you with the grip, it will also serve as protection from the bamboo spikes. This is a less rocky climb compared to Mt. Binacayan. And while we encountered limited shady areas in the former, this one has a lot plus there's a refreshment area before reaching the summit where you can have a cup of melon or buko juice!

In conjunction with Mt. Binacayan, this climb is also budget-friendly. And since we had this on a twin hike, we were allowed to leave our bags at the jump off, para less hassle sa pag-akyat.

Would I recommend it for beginners? Yes 128077🏻, twin hike na din! For both climbs, I spent Php 700, sulit na!

(Buwis buhay photo; be extra careful, wag aapakan kapag sinabing wag apakan, haha128514)

If you're a nature lover or an enthusiast in climbing, you definitely shouldn't miss out Mt. Pamitinan in Rizal. Don't be fooled by it's 3/10 difficulty. It's a rocky challenging trail. But the view (did I mention the sea of clouds?) will make the climb SO WORTH IT.

Before climbing you'll get to pass by a hanging bridge. From here, you'll see the gush of the river below (in our case murky water since it rained the night before). The climb starts with a simple climb amongst the shrubberies and it progresses to a steeper slope. Before you realize it, you're really climbing rocks (and I mean and endless pathway of jagged sharp edged rocks). Parts of the climb will give you that feel of "one step and you're dead" moments.

Once you reach the summit, you'll realize just how high you've gone. You'll see houses below like dots on a painting. Being at the summit will give you a different kind of high. When you reach it, a feeling of pride and disbelief that you actually made it will overwhelm you.

I recommend you do this with your friends. It will be an unforgettable barkads experience...apart from the gavt that you'll get to do some serious exercise ;) If you decide on going, make sure to bring gloves, headlamp and armbands for protecion. And wear shoes, dont forget sturdy shoes!!! #loolooexplorerpackgiveaway

It has been a go-to-place for outdoor enthusiasts as various activities can be done like spelunking at Pamitinan Cave and Bat Cave, Jogging at the Wawa Dam, Trail running thru Wawa Gorge, swimming, rock climbing on either mountain and of course hiking. Just a stones throw away from Metro Manila (around 1 hr of commute), you can challenge yourself with Mt. Pamitinan and Mt. Binacayan Twin Hike.

The two mountains play a role in both history and legend. The mythical folk hero Bernardo Carpio himself is said to have separated the two mountains by his brute force in an act of self-liberation, creating the gorge, the river, and the rock formations. Another version says he remains chained in the gorge, keeping the two mountains from colliding. Andres Bonifacio sought refuge in Pamitinan Cave in 1895, and it is where he proclaimed one of the first declarations of independence, and by some accounts his words are still inscribed in the cave: "Viva la Independencia Filipinas"

If you want to take mountain climbing to the next level then you should include this on top of your list. Kuya Arnel, our tour guide warns us to unload heavy outdoor gears. So I grabbed two liters of water and some trail food. after we passed the local houses, we witnessed some strange rock formations that resembles human private parts ( kayo na bahala mag isip). It is an hour climb from the start of the ridge going up to the summit. The trail from here is very challenging, most parts requires us to climb a very huge boulder that is blocking the way going to the peak. We called this climb " penetensya climb kasi sobrang hirap. so many buwis buhay segments here. Safety is very important when you are planning to climb this mountan and make sure you will bring something you can sit on the top of these sharp rocks if you wish to take a break because there are no flat rocks.

If you want to experience mountain climbing with more of a rock climbing experience, go visit this one at Montalban, Rizal.

The spiky, hardcore rock formations will amaze you so much but you can curse them too as they'll give you a hard time in reaching the monolith, but it's all worth it!

For an entrance fee of 2php and a tour guide fee of 500php, this is really a good quick escape on a weekend! 128077🏼

One of Rizal’s wonders. This is a fun hike for beginners. Be prepared to climb a steep ascent on the first hour, and as you progress you will be challenged due to the compulsory steep rock-climbing. Once you reach peak one, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the mountain ranges. Do not forget to climb the 2nd (and the scariest in my opinion) peak for the view is as rewarding as the challenge! 128522 Don’t forget to bring water, food, and buy gloves! It can really help you with the rock-climbing part. Having good company is a bonus!

Travel time: 2 hours from QC
Budget: 500 per head est.
Total hiking time: Max 4 hours

Another successful hike with my homies. 128079128514
All the pain we've experience going up is all worth it, Mt. Pamitinan has a twin mountain the Mt. Binacayan, but unfortunately we were not able to climb its twin mountain because we lack in water supply and also the food. Now i finally believed that one mountain can never be the same to other mountains because they have different trails and different experience along the way.

Mt. Pamitinan is a friendly and easy trail for beginners, BUT! in needs a lot of strength and courage to climb up to the summit. It is 1-2.5 hike back and forth. The trail has a steep and rocky way up. When going up to the summit the rocks become sharp, make sure you used thick shoes for your safety. Be very careful. Bring a lot of water because there's no water supply.

Mt. Pamitinan Expenses:
Ride a fx/suv to montalban rizal from cubao: Php 50.00
Ride a tricycle/jeepney to wawa dam: Php 10.00
Registration fee of DENR: Php 2.00
Tour guide: Php 300.00 good for 5/6 person
