I was with my siblings in High Street and cant decide where to eat. After choosing this resto based on their menu, i ordered for the "creole shrimp tub". As you can see on the attached menu photo, its P599. I wouldn't pay P199 for it! "Mas gugustuhin ko pa mag mcdo!" And the description states: white shrimp, holy trinity, cajun spices, and flavored corn. I'll describe/comment on it one by one:

White shrimp: over cooked!!!

Holy trinity: I have no idea on what this is but as per google, “Holy Trinity” (in Louisiana Creole Cuisine is chopped celery, bell peppers, and onions).... Based on the picture of the dish, you can't see any of the ingredients indicated. To make matters worse, the server (Ariel) explained to me that creole is a cajun seasoning which consists of salt and pepper. (As per google again, its a combination of onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, basil, thyme, black pepper, white pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika and salt.)

Cajun spices: didn't taste any. This dish was VERY bland!

Flavored corn: just an ordinary sweet corn... Oh wait its also very dry.

We ate there at around 7-8pm earlier. I indicated the time so the owners can get rid of the chef/cook on duty! Well maybe not to get rid of them but maybe transfer them to a simpler task like throwing the trash or something.. Im not a great cook but i know the difference of a good tasting meal from a disaster.

Note to chef. Resign!

It's been a week or 2 since I started getting rid of meat as part of living a healthier life. It's never been an easy feat trying to be healthy but it takes discipline and hard work to succeed.

A few days ago, I tried New Orleans with my friend because we got a good deal via Deal Grocer. The menu looked appealing to me - both meat and non-meat. But still set my mind to get the Blackened Salmon. However, this dish was not available that time and the only fish available on the menu was the Fish Ponchartrain. *sad*

What we ordered:
‼️‼️ BBQ Chili and Chicken Nachos (P365) - I liked how this nachos was different from the other nachos I've tried. It had grilled chicken, bbq sauce, MANGO SALSA and sour cream. The ingredients were the usual ones except the mango salsa that made it sooo good. It complements the flavor of the corn chips, bbq sauce, sour cream and chicken. The only thing I didn't like about the dish was it's a bit too sweet for my liking.

‼️ Fish Ponchartrain (P399) - it's deep fried fish in Shrimp Etouffee (spicy Cajun stew) with Parsley Walnut Rice. The dish looked very sinful and tasted sinful as well!!! We were only able to eat 3/4 of the dish because it was too much for us. It was good but it was very creamy that we got a little "umay" after the first few bites. It also had a big serving! Parang Banapple pero mas gusto ko pa yata ang Banapple 128517

‼️‼️ Mud Pie (P215) - I liked the mud pie mainly because of the melted marshmallow part 128523 it was also good because it was not too sweet. I only had 1 bite because I was already too full when we asked the server to get this for us.

Overall, the experience was good. The food is a bit pricey but you just have to choose which ones to order. They also have big servings that can be good for sharing so sulit na din.

LEGEND:
‼️‼️ Must Try
‼️ Good but skippable

Did this resto change chefs or change ownership? The taste and presentation of their dishes are so different from the last time we ate there last year. My old favorites like the pork belly, the gumbo and the jambalaya are not like what they used to be. Sayang. Their new dishes does not taste good at all.

We were invited to a surprise b-day party...

Service had a few challenges, because of the number of guests that came.

Food, I had the BBQ ribs, chicken and chicken wings, which I enjoyed. Also liked the gumbo!

Steak night is Murray's New Orleans night. Order the porterhouse steak and be blown away. Add the dirty rice as side dish to make it more spectacular!

We just had our lunch at 2pm, coffee at 3pm, and merienda/early dinner at 4pm here at New Orleans. 128522

Ambiance - a little dark inside, went here at around 4pm, comfy seats
Food - wide selections, Mardi Gras Nachos - must try. Blackened Salmon Salad has citruosy dressing - i liked it, Bourbon Honey Chicken Wings - cousins didn't like spicy food so I ordered this one. We didn't finished everything due to full tummy haha! 128516
Service - didn't had any problems with taking orders, serving the food, & fast billout.

Free wi-fi, TOTAL BILL plus 10% service charge.

Got 2 salads, the caesar salad, muffaleta salad. Caesar salad dressing was too salty. Muffaleta salad dressing tasted great but its a bit oily. I pray they used real olive oil. If you want something unique, try their Swamp Cheesecake and All that Jazz Sandwich. Yeah, like in other reviews, service sucks but look out for one of their waiters, Boyet, he gives excellent service! :) best time to visit is 5-7pm to catch their Happy Hour.

The dishes here are so well thought of and the ambiance inside is definitely a conducive to really appreciating the food in front of you. I'll definitely come back again!

Plus they have the best mash potatoes I have ever tasted in my entire life. Ughhh. Just thinking about it makes me hungry again.

My wife and I were looking for a "newer" place to eat. We saw New Orleans just beside Clawdaddy. We purposely did not go to Clawdaddy to try New Orleans.

We ordered Rockefeller Oysters. It tastes good, much like the one we had at Clawdaddy. Lo and behold, New Orleans and Clawdaddy practically share the same kitchen! That explains. So much for trying out something new. 128540

We also tried their baby back ribs. Nah! Rub's is WAY better (and cheaper, at that).

The oysters made our day. It also made this restaurant deserve 5 stars.

Mardi Gras Nachos (195) is the best nachos i have tasted so far!! It had grilled chicken barbeque, sour cream, sharp cheddar and mango jalapeño salsa 128076 The mango added a different taste to the dish! Super bagay! 128079 It had a nice presentation too since the corn
chips they used are tricolor.

I'll come back next time when i have the appetite for a big meal!

Food is good but service sucks. I wanted to order wine but the waiter doesnt have any knowledge of their available wine whatsoever. Ambience is relaxed and quaint. You can try the place but just dont order from the curly waiter with a slurry voice, he might serve you grape juice instead of wine.
