I was invited by a friend to settle in for a six-course degustation meal at this restaurant a few weeks ago. The space is actually quite small and ambiance was way more casual / not pretentious as I'd imagine a fine dining spot to be. I will describe the Myon's Tasting Menu as perhaps lighter and cleaner as compared to other French restaurants.

On the menu, there are six items but with the dessert, it came out to be 7 dishes in total. The tasting menu here was decent but most of the dishes were just average. The plating was nice and the service was generally very good.

We started off with the Pan-seared Scallop and Tiger Prawns. Fantastic interplay of prawn and scallop in olive oil. The scallop was seared beautifully with perfectly brown crust, moist, tender center and the Beurre Blanc sauce makes a simple and elegant finish to the seafood.

The French Onion Soup was quite bland, and I had to add tons of salt to get any flavor out of it. The Chef's Salad, although simple, was fresh, tasty and the mustard vinaigrette made a simple plate of greens memorable. If something subtle could scream, Myon's Shrimp Scampi would have. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and butterflied nicely. The sauce was the star--It was this velvety, perfectly balanced blend of garlic and lemon and whatever else the chef puts in to create the magic. Really delicious.

For my entree, I decided to try the Pan-seared Salmon with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus on the side. The salmon was a bit dry - even though it didn't seem overcooked when it was served (if that makes sense). The mashed potatoes--I enjoyed this a lot. It was light, fluffy, creamy, and lump-free.

For dessert, we had their signature cheesecake. I actually like to call it 'Cheesecake Three-Ways'. Basically, we were served with three different flavors of cheesecake (Cheese, Chocolate, and... Salted Caramel?) I enjoyed every single one of them because they all have a fudge-like texture. If you are a chocolate lover and sweet tooth like me, you'd love this dessert a lot.

The staff were all very attentive to the point that the moment we finished a dish, our plates were taken away immediately. The servers are also very familiar with the menu. Each time a dish is brought out, the waiters can immediately name all the ingredients (even though none of us could remember everything he said) and are super friendly.

All the successful high end restaurants seem to have the goal of making sure their guests are comfortable, catered to, and trying to ensure that their restaurant experience is nonpareil. I certainly felt that in Myon's and, I appreciate that Chef Ivan, listened objectively to our feedback and recommendations.

Overall, I'd say that the restaurant and menu looked promising and while some of the dishes were average in terms of taste and presentation, I believe that with the help of customer feedback, it is certainly possible that the quality food can be enhanced. It can also be a combination of customer feedback and personal research. Plus, there are some very good tools out there to help with menus and ideas.

Cheers,
Mickey

Was here for an office event so it was strictly business (no chance of photos).

A little short on parking slots, although you can double park.
Staff were gossiping and noisy during our activity and we had to call their attention multiple times.
Food was good.
Ambiance was better.

Myons French-Mediterranean is a fine dining restaurant owned by my friend. The restaurant derived its name from the avenue itself. They offer classic French and Mediterranean dishes presented in the finest wares. They also have a coffee & tea shop and catering.

Let's move on to the food.. (I'm not sure though if that was the exact serving size since it's just a food tasting)

- Baked New Zealand Mussel for the appetizer, it didn't tasted like OZ mussel. (WHYYYYY)

- Not a fan of Iced tea though but their House blend Iced tea tasted like meeeeh. Too ordinary.

- Next up is Clam Chowder, it was good! It has honey cured bacon and the bread that comes with the soup, OMG it's very hard to chew!!! I have braces so I'm having a hard time to eat it. My braces almost took off.

- Baked Salmon Perillade for the main entree, it's a layer of baked salmon with mashed potato, vegetable, spinach and cream. By the way, Persillade is a combination of parsley and garlic mixed with bread crumbs and lemon. The salmon is quite overcooked :( and it lacked seasoning for me. I liked the crispy salmon skin on top! It really stood out!

- And yaaaay!!! Dessert time!!! Frozen Brazo to end our night. It is a baked meringue with homemade milk custard and vanilla ice cream on top! Ohhhh so good!!! I liked the milk custard! :)

= The service was okay.

= The place was nice. But the lighting was too dark.

= Limited parking space.

Whoa! That's all i can say. Kidding! Anyway, it's really not that easy to imagine having this kind of restaurant located in a place where average to middle class live? Well, there I could relatively say that there are some upper class since it is a jump away from Santa Mesa Heights. Anyway, it's nice to try MYONS since I was so curious about it. A close to fine dining experience located beneath the busy city of Quezon. The food is great! They got a hefty servings and everything in it is extraordinary! This seafood saffran pasta has it all! I never expect something like this. Words cant articulate how good it is! We even tried the Greek T-Bone Steak in which the waitress stressed that this is one of their best sellers. The steak is absolutely good, perfect well done since Im not fond of half cook or whatsoever. The ambiance is very good! The service is commendable! Even the security guards are so kind! This is prolly one of the bests that i have tried!

We went here yesterday, upon entering the place it was really amusing. The interiors are nice, it is well polished and paintings are beautifully placed. However, we are disappointed with the food the we had. We ordered Seafood Saffron and its tasteless, and also we got the Moroccan Grilled Pork and the meet was half cooked. Not a good find for us.

We went here for a late lunch while waiting for the dismissal of our little girl. We ordered for seafood paella and another dish I totally forgot. It wasn't remarkable, anyway, the olive oil was quite old! This seafood paella is full of treasures from the sea as you can see ( I made a rhyme) but lacks the flavor We were looking for. The servers are knowledgeable about their menu and they pronounced their dishes correctly.. But you guys can do better by serving food with a smile and not making the guests feel you know better than they do.. The chairs are elegant, all the rest ( chinaware, utensils, glassware etc) are ordinary. The place is clean including the bathroom. The price was not worth it. They did not even offer the all day breakfast that we saw in the banner posted in d next street.
Let's give them a couple of months more to check if they will be able to improve

Learned about this place in a newspaper. When i read "fine dining" i thought it would be a nice place to try on our first anniversary. So we did.

I did further research though. I found a review online and tried to order what they ordered.

Appetizer: Chilean Mussels (i think it's called) - GOOD

Soup: Shrimp Bisque - DELICIOUS

Pasta: Seafood Saffron - NOT SO GOOD :( something about the taste but it was oozing with shrimp, mussels, squid so plus plus stars

Main Dish: Baked Salmon Persilade - DELICIOUS

Tip: Order 1 day in advance their wellington. I wanted to try tuna wellington but unfortunately, it was an advance order.

Ambiance - Who would have thought you'll find something like this in Mayon?? The dim lights give me extra feels and I just love it.
Service - They serve with joy and the waitress knows everything on the menu.
Food - Prime rib eye steak is the bomb. But I think it's too pricey for their serving. Crème Brulee there is the best. I did not like the lamb. Who am I kidding I don't eat lamb. I don't like it's smell. But overall it's a good 4 stars.

Tucked along the residential part of the main road Mayon St away from the busy Banawe restaurant row is this gem. Had a dinner date with my parents here and they loved the steaks they offered (as pictured). We even got a free sansrival for dessert (if you reached a minimum amount, food price is more of the upscale side). They also have an upstairs coffee shop if you just want to have a cheaper fare e.g. sandwiches+coffee.
