As most of you already know / noticed from my post, I am a Japanese food lover! If I get a peso for every time I dine in a Japanese restaurant or think of how much I love Japanese food, I might have a thousand pesos by now 128584

Anyway, Lucky Chinatown Mall is quite near where I live, though not as accessible as other malls in the Manila area. Usually, I get to visit this mall when Josh's mom comes to Divisoria / 168 / 999 to do her shopping. Since we've discovered the good and relatively affordable food Nadai Fujisoba offers, this restaurant has been our favorite whenever we eat in LCM. We might have visited this branch for more than 5 times now, and we both now have our favorite dish to order each time we come.

127836 For me: NIKU FUJI SOBA (Php 260) - 1108811088110881108811088
The most important part I like about noodle soups is the al dente noodles, and Nadai passed my noodle standards. Make sure to eat this right away if you prefer your noodles al dente though, as prolonged time in the broth might make the noddles less al dente. I wish they can give us an option on the "hardness" of the noodles too. 128513 Their broth is a soy sauce based broth that's relatively light but flavorful, capturing the umami taste we all love from our Japanese food. The generous amount beef strips are super tender, much like the ones you'll find on your gyudon. There are also chopped leeks, seaweed and nori, to complement and add flavor to the overall taste. It is also served with a perfectly cooked egg which I usually mix in with my soup 128076 Each bowl is just enough to make me full and content. Each sip of the hot soup warms my heart, always. 128156 If you prefer this spicy, they offer the same dish in spicy variant, too; or you may actually sprinkle the chilli powder in your Niku Fuji Soba, so you can adjust the spiciness according to your preference.

127836 For Josh: EBI TEN MORI SOBA (Php 260) - 1108811088110881108811088
The rating I put here is for Josh, since I like hot soba more than cold soba. I think this is not in the photo I've uploaded here, I forgot what he ordered during the time I took these photos. Anyway, Josh prefers cold soba because according to him, the noodles are even more al dente this way since there is no heat that will continuously cook the noodles. He loves Ebi Tempura, so this is a go-to dish for him. For cold soba, you will be provided with dipping sauce for your noodles, which you can later slurp when you've already finished your meal. According to Josh, the tempura is already declining in quality, so best to try this dish soon if you plan to! 127844 He still finds this sulit though, because they included 2-3 big ebi tempura pieces for this item, which is okay for its relatively affordable price.

Ambiance is okay, you'll get the feel that you're in a Japanese restaurant, though it is well lit compared to most higher end Japanese restos. Service here is hit or miss, even though I have never encountered a super busy day for them (AKA full house). I am also quite annoyed because there are times that their staff (maybe ones waiting for their duty time) are lounging in the seats meant for customers. I understand that it might not be the start of their duty yet, but it's best to keep the area cleared for customers.

Overall, I would still come back to this restaurant because I like their noodles, and it's one of the most decent yet affordable restaurants in LCM. 128522

Had their curry soba, tempura, and potato croquette.

Their curry soba was literally just curry sauce and soba - not that I'm complaining, it was good, and the manager did tell us outright that it'd just be curry + soba only. Still, I think it would be better if there was an option to add chicken/beef to it. I think that it's worth noting that their serving's big - curry soba is worth 280 pesos if I remember correctly and we split it between 3 people. Definitely sulit, haha, although I suppose we were okay splitting since we weren't really hungry.
Their tempura was huge too, and it was yummy according to my companions but didn't try it as I'm allergic to shrimp (or so I think haha).
Potato croquette was my favorite tho!!! Definitely something I'd like to eat everyday hahaha.

ambiance is alright and service was too, albeit maybe a little sluggish. The only thing that bothered me was that their utensils were still wet when they gave them to us - I mean, can't they dry it before giving it to us? That and there were smudges on my glass that bothered me too. ;;

Niko Fuji Soba/Udon is a hit on their menu! The soup's tasty.

Price ranges from 200-300. The ambience of the place is good and also the service. I like their soy sauce, a lil sweet(may rice wine).

*Di ko alam if ano name nung isang dish but i don't like it. The circle on top is supposed to be fried shrimps pasted together. Pero it was like less shrimp with undercooked flour in it. Kulang sa lasa and super daming harina.

Worst nadai experience ever. Everything was bad, from service to food itself. I mean, the first server was so clueless of the menu that he had to ask the manager for help so when the manager stepped in, he basically just assumed our order was the one with okra soba as I just pointed at the menu and mentioned half of the dish's name. My bf mentioned after receiving the dish that when someone orders that, they better confirm over & over again lol. So he got our order wrong and didn't even bother to apologize & just like made us feel like we were at fault because he did repeat our order after all. As for the food, the tempura was overcooked/reheated kind. The kakiage was so crunchy it was like eating ruffles! It was sure to hurt & wound the roof of your mouth, then the dipping sauce was noticeably saltier than usual.

This was a really disappointing branch for me 128544

I really needed a quick dinner fix with mama to ease my "back to school/dorm life" blues. She wanted something with soup and noodles, so I had to choose one of our favorite places (which I realized I haven't reviewed yet!) that's convenient to go to.

We always get the Ebiten Udon which basically has two huge golden brown ebi tempuras on top of the noodles. I love how the tempuras get a little soaked with the soup base which also serves as its' sauce. And like the tempura, the udon was cooked to perfection too; it was firm but still very chewy. I have yet to try other selections from the menu but so far, this place has always served good food that won't hurt your pockets.128522

This is my favorite resto in LCM as of date. Food is good and affordable for a Japanese restaurant. I like their udon (hot). Their tempura is also big and delicious.128076🏼128522
