Last Thursday, Josh invited me and V to watch Avengers: Infinity War with him. We decided to catch the last full show in SM North Edsa at 9PM. Before watching, Josh and I had dinner at Nadai Fujisoba, as we wanted to eat somewhere at The Block (near the cinema we were going to watch in).

I remember visiting this branch and having something else from my usual order of Niku Fuji Soba, and was not quite happy with what I got. 128546 So I vowed to myself that when I get to visit again, I'll just stick with my usual order -- so I won't get disappointed again.

When we got there, we were promptly seated. I asked the server how long it will take before our food is served, since we were time pressed and needed to be upstairs before 9PM. She said food will be served in around 15 minutes, and that was good enough for us. 128521

✅ NIKU FUJI SOBA (Php 280) - 1108811088110881108811088
This is my all-time favorite! 128156128156128156 I love how firm the noodles are, and how flavorful the piping hot soup is. 128525 The thinly sliced beef are tender and tasty, and of course, the egg is cooked perfectly!!! One of the best budget noodle soups I've had to date. 128521 I will never get tired of this dish, ever!

Service in this branch was okay. Though, I was surprised that their hot tea now costs 30 pesos. I think it used to be free? Like siners have an option to get the hot or cold service tea. 128542 I'm quite sad about this part.

I always look forward to the moments I get to spend with my college friends, because some are based in faraway places, and only get to visit Manila during certain occasions. This time, I had the chance to have a quick dinner + catch up with G, one of my friends when I was still in eng'g. 128522

He works in the province now because of the field he is in, so when he got to visit during the past holiday season, I immediately agreed when he invited me for dinner.

We met up at SM North Edsa, my usual meet-up place when I have dinner with people on a weekday. We walked around The Block, and eventually decided to eat at Nadai Fujisoba. I've always ordered their Niku Fuji Soba, because it's so good! I never got anything else, until that night... I saw an insert in their menu re: their new dishes, which consisted of: Buta Kimuchi (Pork Belly) Soba / Udon, Tori Niku (Stewed Chicken) Soba / Udon, and Salmon Harasu Don. Being the curious foodie that I am, I decided to veer away from my usuals to give one of these a chance:

✅ TORI NIKU SOBA (Php 280) - 110881108811088
I was initially leaning towards getting the Buta Kimuchi Soba, but the server said this one's better. 128513 I think they use a generic signature broth for their noodles, as the soup had the same taste with their Niku Fuji Soba. The stewed chicken was juicy, though it lacked flavor... Like the taste didn't penetrate into the meat. 128533 The noodles were slightly overcooked as well, so it was a bit soggy. My favorite part though? The half boiled egg it was served with! I still love my Niku Fuji Soba more... And will just get that again when I come back. 128513

On the other hand, G got the Salmon Harasu Don (Php 280). According to him, the salmon was a bit burnt, and the mayonnaise was slightly overwhelming. 128547

Service was good and quick. It was easy to call the attention of the servers. 128076 The ambiance was okay, the restaurant was well-lit and had a cheery Japanese casual restaurant feel to it. I would definitely come back for their Niku Fuji Soba -- one of the most affordable Japanese noodle soup dish there is. 128521

I only see cold noodles in the kdramas that i watch so it's my first time to try cold noodles and being a fan of everything cold (i like iced coffee more than the hot one) i must say that this is the noodles that i've been looking for. Charot!

I tried searching first on google on how to eat cold noodles and i learned that you have to take a few strands of soba noodles and dip them into the sauce before eating them. Thank you so much google hindi ako nagmukhang noob while eating cold noodles. I would also like to thank metrodeal for the vouchers that we bought. (Kukunin na ba kong endorser ng metrodeal kakapromote ko?)

I ordered Niku Tsuke Soba (cold dipping soba noodles, sliced beef, sesame seed, sesame oil, shredded roasted wakame seaweed - 320.00) while my boyfriend ordered Niku Fuji Soba (soba/udon noodles, sliced beef, hard-boiled egg, onion leeks, wakame seaweed - 280.00)

i'm not really good in describing how a food taste like but this cold noodles is so good you have to try it and you decide. Basta ako bet na bet ko talaga! Hahaha!

We got here in the middle of the storm looking for something warm and filling. Here's what we got.

Croquettes - yummy and huge. But it is a but too big to my liking. I soon got tired of the taste but the sauce is amazing.

Soba - I love the marriage of the meat, softboiled egg, and nori. This tastes absolutely amazing.

Seafood Udon - my parents got this. Not really a fan of seafood and 'fat' noodles but it tastes good.

Vegetable Croquettes - Sorry. I'm a veggie lover so I love this the most. Crunchy and savory with the sauce. It went really well with the soba.

Beef Bowl - Got a taste. It was okay. I wish there was egg though.

Overall, it was warm and filling. Will definitely come by again!

Soba by Nadai Fujisoba: reluctant YEY

Toni: Ano problem, ma? (Mom, what's the problem?)
Mama: Lasang kahoy yung noodles. (It tastes like wood.) My mother's honest review of Nadai Fujisoba's Kake Soba. 128518

Soba is a thin noodle made with buckwheat flour and water. Uncooked, the noodles really do look like a bundle of wood sticks. One can easily tell it is a soba aside from the appearance through its strong nutty flavor and granular texture in the mouth. It's the noodle equivalent of eating wheat bread versus white "tasty" bread or brown rice vs white rice.

I like Nadai Fujisoba but I guess soba is just not for everyone, as in the case of my mom. Hence, the reluctant Yey, for people who would probably think twice in eating something that tastes like wood.
So I traded my udon (thick white noodles that are soft and chewy to the bite) for the mother's soba. So yan, masaya na siya. 128516 Di lang sanay si Mama sa lasa nung soba. Masarap sa Nadai Fujisoba, promise. I used to eat there a lot, sa BGC. My mom and I also had ebi tempura, gyudon, and katsudon.

Back on a solitary second trip, this time I tried the Teisyoku Set for only Php350 12852210084128077🏻127881 with my choice of Katsudon paired with Cold Mori Udon.... The pork was sweet and tender with the egg coating ( yum ) and the cold udon was quite refreshing dipping it in their special sauce mixed with green onions and wasabi... Truly loved the combination! 128077🏻10084128522

Nadai Fujisoba just opened really near my house, so of course my family had to try it! We've visited twice so far, and have tried their tempura, as well as various sobas. I've had the aki fuji soba and their seaweed soba (I've forgotten the name). I loved the aki fuji soba, however, I'm not a big fan of the seaweed soba. Their tempura was great, as well.

Late post. After our Looloo meetup, we got hungry and wanted something savory.

Nadai Fujisoba servers affordable dishes that can fit any budget and cater to your Japanese cuisine cravings. You can choose from their array of rice bowl meals, hot/cold noodles and tempura dishes.

I ordered Oyakodon (180PHp) the serving was generous and it tasted good. 128523

Food is good, but the company was better.

Pero seriously, i like their tender and sweet katsudon - very filling and affordable for 190php. One of the better ones in its price range.

Thanks Pam L Ruth D Julie L! 9786

Can't get enough Japanese food in my system. I love Japanese dishes ever since I was little. Had a catch up date w my college bestfriends, we decided to try this Japanese resto, we ordered:

127836 Aka Fuji Udon
127844 Ebi Tendon
127830 Gyudon
127832 Katsudon

Place was nice and cozy. Service was good. Price is also okay, affordable! Taste was so-so. Serving was very filling. The whole experience was a little similar to Tokyo Tokyo.

With the hype brought by Ramen House, comes Soba. Like ramen, Soba is quite plain with a preference to whether you like the huge bowl with cold or hot servings. Since it was raining hard that night, i have chosen the hot one. I didn't like anyway the introduction of what's in the serving yet just to know the difference; i just would like to enjoy the night with a nice start in previous hours of that day. And to play safe with the food, i decided as well to order Katsudon as a side dish. Nice ambiance linked to the restaurant offerings, waited for minutes for food to be served. In total, the experience is not remarkable. I found the Katsudon somehow tasty, this is ironic to fish broth enriched Soba. I have no idea about the content though but Soba only contains lengthy noodles with leafy toppings incorporated. I was also advised about the Soba anyway so i didn't regret for ordering it. I seated there out of ignorance and walked away with a poker face, gave effort for their polite service. I will only recommend you guys to try Udon dish for that you will end up with a full stomach. Itadakimasu!

Gyudon rice bowl (190PHp)
Buta Bara Kimichi Don (190PHp)
Niku Fuji Udon (260PHp)

The price for each dish was relatively fair to their serving. We liked the rice bowls and the udon noodles was just right. 128522

I've eaten in Nadai Fujisoba before and I've always been a fan. I've tried their Niku Fuji Soba and it was amazing. On this visit though, I tried their Teisyoku Set Meal. They have a variety of this but I got the Ebi Tendon. For P380 you get 3 humongous pieces of Ebi Tendon, and soba on the side. You can choose between Kake (Hot) or Mori (Cold) and Soba (Thick wheat) or Udon (Thin buckwheat).

I had the Kake Udon. The Ebi Tendon was crunchy while drizzled in the yummy tempura sauce. The Kake Udon is just miso broth with seaweed and noodles. But for a rainy day, this bowl of soup will take the chills away. The set meal was so sulit that I didn't even get to finish my Kake Udon. If you have a voracious appetite, this set meal was made for you.

The first time I tried Nadai Fujisoba was at their SM Mall of Asia branch. I was sure then that I will have go back for their other offerings but since it was far from where I live, I just wasn’t sure when I would be able to return. Thankfully, Nadai Fujisoba already has a presence in the north! Their Quezon City branch is located in the now revamped SM The Block, so that’s definitely more convenient.

This visit, I wanted something simple, light, and hot. I would have settled for Kake Soba, just noodles and broth, but then I saw the Wakame (seaweed) soba. The broth wasn’t thick and it was flavorful, and the noodles were al dente. The seaweed, which were soft but a little chewy, added nice texture. I wanted something light but halfway through, I realized a bowl of noodles was actually heavy. I still managed to finish everything though.

I was also able to try a little of the Ko-ebi Kakiage. It’s 1-pc per order and can actually be shared unless it’s all you’re going to eat. It had a good crunch and the amount of shrimp was not so bad.

Service was good and quick. Servers were attentive and I think the layout of the dining area actually has an advantage. It was just a long narrow hall with 2 rows of tables, and one row only has tables good for 2 persons.

Still ate hot udon soup even in this weather.
I highly recommend what i ordered: aka fuji udon 128525 beef slices with negi, wakame, nori and ontama egg. Serving may be small but you'll be surprised how full you'll be afterwards.

Ate here again a week after and had the same thing. Yuuuum!
