I think I have a new favorite nail salon 128525

First time ever here. Thank God for looloo tlga and I found this (literally) hidden salon tucked in the Beauty corner of Rustan's Shang. I was a walk-in customer and the receptionist (who was lovely and nice) said they normally don't accept walk-ins but luckily no one had an appointment at that time so they were able to squeeze me in 1280779786

It's been months since I last pampered myself and this has been so relaxing. Yvonne and Carol were my attendants and they were awesome! I just got the classic mani pedi 128133128134

Little do people know, there's a small nail salon inside Rustan's Shangri-la. Coming in early (11am) and/or booking in advance are a must because they only have three chairs inside. I liked how they help the customer - there's a tray beside each chair where you can place your bags and they ask if you want to settle the bill first before applying nail polish on your fingernails. The nail technicians were also friendly and approachable. The one who did my nails was good but the one who did my toes is not. My toenails looked like she didn't finish cutting it so that will turn out badly when it grows back. Also, I think their menu doesn't say everything. Price for a mani-pedi was 375 but I was charged with 435. I think the discrepancy comes from additional charge for couture nail polish (after checking the menu in Looloo; didn't see this in their menu in the counter). I am not sure what couture nail polish means but I only chose a normal OPI color.

The service was beyond expectations. First, I got lucky with the appointment. As the place is surprisingly small for a nail spa - they only have 4 available chairs total - I was half expecting to be rejected as today is a holiday and most people like to have services done. I called in and they were able to squeeze me in.

I had a hard time finding the exact location and had to ask a couple of guards for directions inside Rustan's but that's about the only problem I encountered. After I got seated, everything else was smooth sailing.

I availed of the Lactol Mani because my nails were stained from constantly using dark polishes. Amazingly, it really does help removing the stains. By the time they were ready to put on the polish, my nails were stain free. I'm not so sure my skin got lighter but either way, the service did its purpose so I'm extremely happy. Stained nails have always been an irritating issue with me and even soaking and scrubbing with lemon didn't work- so there.

My attendant convinced me to try Gel Polish. It's something I've always heard about but never actually got to try. When I found out it was an additional 650, I hesitated. Their sales pitch, which included telling me that it would last 2-3 weeks without chipping, eventually got me to avail of the service as well.

For the actual painting on of the polish and cleaning services, I could not be happier. My attendant, Cris, took all my extra notes into consideration. She listened to me and was very friendly. Eventually, we were sharing anecdotes and laughing. There wasn't a paint out of place, and the application was all even which must have been difficult for her to do since I was laughing the whole time.

I am definitely coming back and asking for Cris again.

Service was still great BUT they gave me a classic manicure instead of a pedicure spa. I reminded it twice pa because I was excited for the massage! My legs were still tired from walking for about 7 hours yesterday at the Noel Bazaar (sharing haha) so I got really sad for a while when they said they couldn't even massage my legs because my nails could get ruined. 128546

I was supposed to give 3 stars only but we got to avail two discounts! From Dec. 1 to 8, the gel manicure will be P520 only instead of P600. And just today, there's a 25% discount for a minimum purchase of P5000 worth of GCs! So the hell with my massage, I can get it next time using my awesome GCs! 128111

I have been going to Shang ever since college so what I know is that there is only one nail salon here. It was fully booked so my mom wanted to go to another mall. Good thing I thought of checking looloo! I finally discovered the best nail salon in the metro! 128076

First impression, not so good. I'm used to the big chairs of other nail salon, so seeing their chairs made me doubt my decision to go here. It was actually really comfortable. Their music was the sound of waves so it's like lounging by the beach. 128526128089

What I don't like in other salons is when staff talk to each other and make chikka while doing your nails. Here, NADAAA! They don't talk unless they need to so you really get peace and quiet. At first, I thought baka masungit lang but when you talk to them, they are very friendly and accommodating.

Their professionalism also comes out in the actual service you get. They are very careful and precise in doing our nails. Sa iba kasi medyo nagmamadali na. Here, I can feel their desire to give the best service they can give.

The massage was good! The little hotdog pillows is just genius!! And the gel manicure was LEGIT unlike my last one.. Tsk. It lasted for a month! Actually more if I didn't had it removed!

When we were about to pay, I was shocked because the bill wasn't what I expected. It was cheaper than the other ordinary nail salons we go to. So in my mind, while paying, top notch service at an affordable price?? BEST NAIL SALON EVER! 128079

Never had gel polish before, and since it was for my conferment, I didn't want to have chipped polish the day of the event, so had to try it.

I don't usually go to Shangri-la, but since the baccalaureate mass was at the hotel, I decided to look for nail salons around the area, and looloo have good reviews for this place.

I literally opened the place, because I didn't know the whole mall opened at 11. So I waited patiently outside until doors opened, and proceeded to look for their space.

It was at a small corner of rustans. They only had 4 lounge chairs available, 2 of which were in private rooms for waxing purposes lang daw. I had my choice of 2 chairs, which were pretty comfortable. As soon as I was ushered in, service started promptly.

The nail artisans patiently explained the process of gel polish to ignorant old me. They were pretty quick at their job, and thorough. Painless manicure. Flawless application. It took about 1 hour and 15 minutes from sitting to paying, and I think it was all worth it. 5 days after application, my nails still look glossy and are chip free. My cuticles are not dry, which usually happen after manicures in my case. I've used acetone, picked on cans, and broken ampules, and my nails are still like new.

Mani pedi was a whopping P1,300. Plus tip, I'm not sure I'll have it done again any time soon. Maybe pag-ikasal na ako. Hehe. Pero, promise, ang ganda niya.

Place was small so it got filled up right away. I had to sit at the counter while getting my nails done. I got their french manicure worth P205. Regular manicure was P185. They use LA colors brand of nail polish. If you wanted to use branded polish , they would charge you more. P60 i believe for couture polish. Since it was my first time, they said I could get the branded polish without any charge. That was great. I chose Deborah Lippmann as the base of my polish and orly was used for the white part. They also carry brands like: opi, essie and jessica. It took like an hour probably cause i spent a lot of time thinking what color I wanted. The staff was nice and let me try a lot of colors before I finally decided. She was very gentle as well, didn't hurt one bit.

Manicure comes with a soak, cleaning, quickie massage and polish. Probably you should reserve before going or else you will get to sit at the counter. It can be painful for the back especially if you were seated there too long.

Will probably come back soon. I think they did a good job on my french manicure.

Only 3 chairs in this branch, appointments are a must.

Orly coffee break for my hands and feet this time around. Fast and efficient, done in an hour!

Not a lot of people know there's a Nail Tropics hiding inside Rustan's. It's at the G/F (i think), you just need to proceed to the area where they sell their Deborah Lippmanns, OPIs and Sally Hansens. Or you can just ask anyone from there to escort you to the secret hiding place.

It truly is relaxing to have a mani/pedi in Nail Tropics. Moreso this one because it's hidden where nobody passes by. This branch can cater only up to 3 clients max, so you're sure to get the privacy and relaxation you want. The place also smells nice. They offer tea as well (and maybe coffee? I'm not so sure.)

I love that their nail artisans have enviable nails!! They either wear nail art or gel nails. Parang hindi nagtatrabaho!

I get my money's worth for their job! No snipping, no blood, no nothing! Well, of course you pay extra for the more expensive nail polish (P60 for OPI, ORLY, Jessica; P100 for Dazzle Dry; didn't ask about Deborah Lippmann and Chanel)

My husband loves going here, too. They have their Gentlemen's services!

Come on, try na!!

As all nail salons, it's very comfy and inviting! The seats, the scent, etc....

Had the regular manicure and pedicure. Both attendants are very professional. Didn't hurt a bit.

"Not your ordinary nail salon"

The idea of getting my nails done will be probably remain to be one of the me times that I always look forward to.

They offer hand and foot services.
The ambiance of the nail salon is very eco-friendly. The space is rather narrow compared to other nail tropics branch so I suggest you come in during non peak hours for more relaxing experience.

I tried their gel nail polish and it was so good. They have wide selections of color and brands like opi, orly and elle. They have a small hand pillow cushion used during my visit.

The important thing is they have sterilizer for their equipments that are used for hygienic purposes in between clients.

The one thing that fascinates me is that they have tip box for each nail artisan available for the clients inside the shop. It's like a mail locker on some condo's that have locks per box and slit where you can drop your tip without disturbing them.

They offer other services like different type of massage too.
