So glad to have tried this one out! After passing by it for so many years at Gbelt, it finally opened its door down over south. We ordered multiple dishes here that yeah, I kept most of the photos. All were good though the standouts are their yakitori dishes. 128077

Visited the place during their soft opening....

I prefer this branch as it's nearer to our house though the food are a little overcooked compared to the one in greenbelt3.

Tempura was bland the others were so so

Staff were courteous and friendly.

This is fairly new here so the wait time is always long. Be sure to make arrangements in advance. We ordered the beef yakiniku, sushi platter, ebi tempura, among others. Food wasn't heavily seasoned but pleasant. Service though was slow. We had to ask four different people just to get toothpicks! Our order of chicken skin came in installments and the side order of corn took 15 minutes longer than the rest. Not surprisingly, the bill came in a flash.

I seriously haven't eaten in Nanbantei for over a decade. First and only time i ate here was back in 2007 at their Greenbelt branch. I had good memories of that meal but never seemed to get back for another. Haha i always had other priorities when trooping to the Greenbelt/Makati area.

Now that they've opened their doors in town there was absolutely no excuse or overshadowing priorities to miss this one! It's been a long time coming haha. Had the bestseller yakitori platter made up of chicken, pork, potato, and corn skewers, some beef yakitori, some tempura, sashimi, and fried rice.

The yakitori sticks were grilled and seasoned well. Its a must to dip their yakitori in their house sauce/dip. Heck, that dip goes with anything! Its like some sort of dark soy flavored bean paste... really good! Tempura was a bit on the bland side, and the sashimi wasn't bursting with the fresh flavor i was looking for. You really just go here for the yakitori talaga.

Glad that the quality hasn't changed over the years (i think). Basta, i remember enjoying eating here in 2007, and i definitely left a happy camper again last weekend.

serving: 2 sticks per yakitori....hmmmm

we're disappointed cause the rice isn't japanese rice. the yakitori is somewhat dry? the salmon was ok. ugh idk i couldnt remember the things we've ordered (only the tempura & the sushi platter) haaaay.

i guess we've expected too much from the alabang branch cause of the reviews we've read about the other branches. meh. i enjoyed their free coffee jelly tho.
