Although more intimate than its predecessor along Mother Ignacia, the new Napa Restaurant along Examiner Street offers convenience and quick service for urban foodies who only have an hour for lunch break. I always get my fix of the soft, cheese-filled ensaymada from Napa, which is also a good present for most occasions. 128522128522128522

Hubby and i were cruising along Scout Borromeo in Quezon City, we saw this old-type of house-turned into a splendid restaurant. We were curious so thought of dining in. Upon entering, a small, cozy nook greeted us. Off to the side are racks of wine bottles before descending upon a short staircase opening to the main dining area. A crystal chandelier dangles overhead, completing the perfect ambiance for a romantic dinner. The ambiance actually gives a cozy feel.

We started off with a recommended appetizer called Cheesy Chicken and Spinach Dip. It’s a thick and creamy dip that’s as sinful as it is tasty with bite sized focaccia bread and a whole lot of dip. Then we tried their Rustic Caesar Salad. Crunchy croutons sit on a bed of romaine lettuce leaves, with tiny bacon bits scattered all over. For our entree we had Putanesca a typical tomato based pasta with olives, capers, and tomatoes. Then came fish cake, it was good. I really liked the sweet and spicy sauce topped with crunchy garlic, especially hubby who's into garlic so much! He definitely enjoyed this. We were about to take our dessert when we were recommended cinco formaggi & pepperoni pizza. Cinco Formaggi is like a 7-cheese pizza, well it's alright but i love the pepperoni pizza more. It was big actually that we have to take home most of it. We were so full that we couldn't take our dessert anymore. Too bad! Oh well, i would just have to go back to try more of their dishes since we had a real good time!

To end this write up, i would say Napa is one of those good food, good service and highly recommended dine-in restaurant. ;)

I discovered this place through one of the vouchers i purchased online. It's my first time here. From the outside, it does not look like a nice and cozy resto. But their interior is really nice and reminds me of an old house from the 60s or the 70s ( similar to the houses where the movies of gloria romero were filmed. )

We ordered the gamberri pasta and high protein pizza. I love that the gamberri pasta is filled with shrimps unlike other restos where u can literally count the number of shrimps in ur pasta with the number of ur fingers in 1 hand.
The high protein pizza is similar to the dear darla pizza of yellow cab. Though a bit salty, the generous amount of alfalfa sprout and arugula balanced the saltiness.

Will definitely go back to this place and invite my officemates for lunch.

Ordered some of my personal favorites last night:
Chef's chopped salad (P270)
Meatball spaghetti (P220)
Cinco Formaggio Pizza (P420)
Chocolate lava cake (P190)

Well, I must say their quality has greatly decreased from their old branches that closed down (both Aresi and Bistro Napa). For what it's worth, food is still good, just not as spectacular as it used to be.

The meatballs were smaller and drier and the pizza was a bit on the "makunat" side, too much in my opinion. I think almost anyone would like a good lava cake. Their version gives you 3-dimensions of chocolate: a perfect crusting, moist chocolate cake and hot liquid chocolate inside served with vanilla ice cream. It takes 15-20 minutes to be ready so order it in advance if you're running on a schedule. If not, feel free to take your time. It's a big and cozy place. The ambience is really nice and probably my favorite thing about the place now.

Overall, it wasn't bad, but I don't see myself visiting again anytime soon given that there a so many good restos out there with the same price range that offer better food.

Must try: beef salpicao!

Limited choices and the service was not that good. Waiters do not seem to be attentive to their guests!

If not for the salpicao and its price i wouldnt give this 3 stars!

My current fave American & Italian Restaurant. I've been here 4 times now and it never gets old. The staff are nice plus the food is generous and sumptuous. You have got to try everything on the menu. But for sure starters, try their Vegetarian Panizza, Buffalo Wings, Sicilian Chicken, Penne Sausage Pasta, Lava Cake and House Ice Tea! Ü

Ambience: ambience is great! You will feel cozy and relaxed with a matching good mood music playing along while dinning
Service: staff was very friendly and always answers with a smile though their response on refilling water needs improvement.
Food: food for me is good and not excellent. There were certain dishes that were good like this rib-eye angus beef (for 900php then it is a must to be really good), truffle mushroom pasta was okay but truffle mushroom soup wasnt good for me maybe bec it just wasnt my type. I have to commend though their choco lava cake for being unique and tasty (its actually their signature dish).
Overall i would say this bistro is good but not excellent since it needs improvement in some area. Hopefully next visit it would be excellent

Dinner for two or with friends/family coupled with a round (and round) of drinks, you can't go wrong with this place. Most we ordered are their bestsellers which are all good to share.

The lava cake (pictured) is just so so (TGIF's molten lava cake taste better imo). 128516

Fine dining ambience but prices are very affordable. Service is a-128077. 128522

Enetering within the premise of this cozy American-Italian restaurant, you can immediately feel a nice, homey ambiance. You may choose to dine indoor or outdoor which, either way, brings you at the comfort of your own home. Now let me get to the food!

We had the Very Veggie Crisps to munch while waiting for the dishes to arrive. I'm not exactly sure what it's made out of but it was okay. I can compare it close to sweet potato chips. It comes with a dipping sauce but even without it, it's still pretty awesome.

Next was the Pork & Beef Kebabs. Nothing too special but it was good. The meat was juicy, tender and savory, and the veggies skewered with it had a little crisp and was flavorful, too.

Napa's pizza is baked in a traditional way - through a wood brick oven. We had the Napa Special which combines everything you might want in a pie - bacon, Italian sausage, black olive, green bell pepper, onion, mushroom, and cheese. The crust is thin and crispy and I must say, really generously topped!

To end the meal, we had the Lava Cake which was done to perfection. The chocolate cake was chewy and moist, oozing with thick and creamy chocolate syrup when you slice it in half. It is paired with rich vanilla ice cream which made it more awesome. Definitely a must-try. It won't be a best seller for no reason! So if you're still wondering why I gave this resto a four, this is why.

Overall - good food, great ambiance, nice service and friendly crew. It's a worth a shot and if I ever come back, I'll definitely try a whole new set from their extensive menu. I believe I could have had a much better food experience.
