Ilocos Norte was not part of our plan. We initially planned to go to aurora for New Year's but we all decided to skip and head all the way up north.

Everything was last minute even our hotel. The only room available was at Natsuca Beach Resort. We wanted to stay in Saud Beach Resort because of their fine sand and clear blue water but they're fully booked.

Natsuca is located at Sitio Aprot in Caparispisan, 10 minutes away from the resort strip in Saud. The place is not yet mapped so if you use waze, it'll bring you to other resorts. Better yet, contact the resort so one of their employees can meet you somewhere and guide you to the resort.

The place is rated 2 stars in Agoda. The place was very decent and looked new. The rooms were clean and it was very quiet. All I can hear was the sound of the waves and the leaves of the trees sweeping. I was not expecting fancy but it if you wish to have a decent and peaceful stay, then this is the perfect place. Apart from the rooms, there are specifically two things that I really love about this resort.

1. Service - never felt so at home at a resort. The owner greeted us as we arrived and showed us our rooms. She also asked what we wanted for lunch and she can cook anything from any available ingredients they have. She said she can cook seafood for us for 150 pesos per head. Why not?! She prepped Calamares for us and we also requested for Lumpia which she happily obliged to make for us. She is from Pampanga and the food was delicious! On New Year's eve, she invited all the guests (there were only 3 groups) to join them in a feast, no charge, just to celebrate. They offered beer and plenty of food cooked by her relatives who were also from Pampanga. I did not expect to meet a lot of friends and drink beer with their employees but we surely had a great New Year celebration. They were all very quick to assist us with our request and always give a warm smile to all their guests. We only paid 1400 for each rooms. It's very cheap compared to the neighboring resorts and to think we had it booked on a holiday.

Anywho, hot shower is available because at times it can be very cold here. It was at 20 degree C during new year's eve. They also have wifi but the connection is too slow. At the beach, signal is pretty good with 3G .

2. Access to the Beach - you get direct access to the beach but The coastline of Sitio Aprot is not meant for swimming because it's rocky. I cannot score them less because of this, it's like giving my mom 3 stars because I am not as handsome as I wanted to (Ulol) haha!. However, of walking along the shore while watching huge waves and enjoying the cool breeze from the north is your thing then you'll be okay here. Saud beach is just near and you can also go to Malingay to swim and it's only 30 minutes away. Although Saud and Malingay boasts fine sand and blue water, it is very crowded and busy unlike our place. It's very serene. Natsuca is also an awesome spot if you want to catch the sunset (see photo).

I wasnt really expecting much from this place but turned out to be an awesome time and made a lot of friends on our two day stay. The owners said that they always give the best service and make guests feel at home.
