Since I haven't explored much SM Mega Food Hall near the ice skating rink I decided to have late lunch there and when I saw Nav, I suddenly had a craving for Thai food remembering my trips in Bangkok a few years back. The most recent Thai resto I went to was in Tagaytay around April this year which was excellent in taste and serving portions.

I ordered Tom Yum Goong for around Php190 (if I'm not mistaken), steamed rice (Php45/medium size wooden bowl) and soda then added fresh spring rolls the last minute. Waited for my order for about 15 mins to be cooked. The fresh spring rolls came with 2 condiments had around 8 pcs and tasted good. I took a sip of the hot, savory, sour & spicy soup then started to dig into my soup bowl but only found a measly shrimp (yeah, just 1 barely medium size piece), around 2-3 pieces of sliced oyster mushrooms, very tiny shallots, & lemongrass slices. I was so disappointed. Expected to have more small shrimps at least since it was supposed to be a shrimp/prawn soup. Maybe bits of fish or squid slices in my soup to compensate for the lack of shrimps. The photo shown on the menu had a piece of prawn on top which is misleading. Lemongrass Thai restaurant (Shangri-la mall & Ayala Center Cebu) served better Tom Yum Talay soup at a slightly higher price around Php245 which has more seafood (more shrimps & slices of squid + fish) and can be shared by 2 persons.

Never again would I dine here. It's not worth the price you pay.

After Vietnam,  we decided we needed a lil Thai to complete our gastronomic feast.  Not much options in Mega for Thai food except for Nav.

Off we go to Nav.  I wanted something spicy and he was still hungover from my home made pad thai last week.

Laksa for me and Pad Thai for him. Each dish has a price tag of php 190.  The Pad Thai is decent,  flavorful with generous servings of chicken and shrimp.  I'll be brutally honest,  you are better off with Sen Lek,  good food and value for money.

Laksa.  I ain't sure how legit laksa should taste like but i am certain that it is not on the sweet side.  I tried Hawker's laksa,  the broth is rich and has a lil hint of spice.  Nav's version is the antithesis of that. I ain't no expert in Thai Cuisine but  i think the broth needs a lil chili, and more seasoning. Maybe adding these elements will somehow improve this dish.

Never again,  Nav.

Thai bagoong rice FTW! Been a month of not having pork so the crispy thin pork went well with the bagoong rice! 128522

Will try their Laksa soon 128521

This Pad Thai from NAV is trying very hard to be one. Overall, it wasn't my choice. But if you're looking for just a filler - then, It could be.

No value for money. 128557128557128557128557128557

After office yesterday, I found myself once again at Mega Food Hall. I quickly decided to order at Nav. I still have a good memory of the yummy Laksa the last time. I had Pad Thai (P190) this time. Just a quick choice to relieve my hunger. Serving is enough for 1 pax. I love it! It certainly made a little sweeter for Filipino taste. It is served on wooden plate covered by banana leaf. This resto is has a lot of good dishes. I definitely would comeback.

The hubby loves laksa and he will have it any chance he gets 128513 after scouring the choices at mega food hall, he finally decided on this Thai laksa. It was less than 200 I think so not bad! They also have other Thai offerings such as pad thai, bagoong rice and fresh rolls.
Since this laksa is Thai, there's more coconut milk than its Singaporean counterpart. Not as spicy too. I really liked how 'smooth' it was with the just the right amount of garnish. There's also a son-in-law egg and which is a harboiled egg coated in special batter then deep fried. Kwek2 for short 128540
If you're looking for a light but filling meal, i suggest you try this yummy laksa! Sawadee ka!

Decided to try NAV in the Mega Food Hall when I had dinner here few weeks ago!

The first branch is located at Kapitolyo, Pasig. And I'm really happy that I don't need to go to Kapitolyo just to try their food, although restaurants always have that magic and unique feel than just going to a foodcourt!

They have few number of choices here. First, you got to pick your choice of dish. Second, you choose your side dish. And lastly, your choice of rice. I tried the Naked Chicken Pandan, with Son-In-Law eggs, and Thai Fried Rice. All for just Php180! How sulit is that?

Waiting time was a bit longer than expected. I like their chicken pandan more than Som's. Less oily and a lot juicier. And since it says naked, it was not wrapped with the pandan leaves anymore which makes it a bit less of the experience. Lol. The Thai Fried rice is good! The Son-in-Law eggs looks weird, but is actually good! The eggs are first hard-boiled, then deep-fried, and then served with tamarind sauce! Really good!

Food is affordable and the serving is good! Totally a good decision to try this out! 128522

Ordered pad thai and laksa today. I'm just giving 3 stars for the pad thai, it was just Ok.. Nothing special. But the real winner is their laksa 128522 It's our second time ordering this and it did not fail us. I'll still go back to Nav for the laksa.

I love how you can taste and savor the flavor of their food. It might look ordinary but it taste really good. And if your looking for a cheap but tasty laksa I recommend this, as my palate love it. But I'm still searching for the best laksa, still looking for that something that's gonna make me one with my laksa. 128514128514128514

MEGAPPETITE!
The Mega Food Hall Special

*Disclaimer: The series of reviews will only discuss a certain menu ordered in certain restaurants during one of my visits in the Mega Food Hall along SM Megamall's Mega Fashion Hall on a typical lunch out with my family. Thus, the ratings will pertain to that certain order only. (Lol)

Another appetizer ordered was Nav's spring rolls. Not much a fan of spring rolls but theirs tasted really fresh. Though eating them could be messy since the rolls easily fall off. It comes in two kinds of sauces that are not too strong in flavor.

For their Pad Thai !

Nth time eating here! It's my go-to whenever I'm in this foodcourt!

Sorry, I'm not a big big fan of the Halal Guys and I don't want to fall in line too! 128513128517

My order came super quick, about 5 mins wait this time, even quicker than before.

Taste. I really like it. Super flavorful! Will surely come back for more!

They have a number of choices on their menus and but good thing they have this option where you can mix and match your meals. Portions are enough for a single person and with a cheaper price tag 128077🏼I had the squid , Son-In-Law Eggs and, the bagoong Rice.

The squid is crispy yet perfectly done 128077🏼

The bagoong rice (expectedly one of the best sellers) served in bowl and beautifully arranged topped with sunny side up, not entirely authentically Thai, but it is good.

The egg are fried until golden brown and served with special sauce. Son-in-law Eggs have all the Thai flavors: sweet and sour.

I truly enjoyed my visit at Nav, every spoonful was bursting with bold flavors of sweet, tangy, and spicy combination that enhances the whole dish.

For a Thai joint at a food court, Nav is not bad at all. Don't expect an authentic taste though, hey it's just a stall at the mall's food court!

I got the fried squid with rice and green papaya salad. I liked it. Enough serving for one only. For the price, I think it's reasonable enough at about P200.

Got their Pad Thai which I am just a big fan of. Price:Php195

Serving since was pretty good. It's enought to fill me also okay to share for two.

Service was quick. I waited about 10 mins for it.

I gave it only 4 stars cause I'm missing the bite or crunch on the noodle. It was tiny bit over cooked that it lost that texture. But, flavor wise I loved it especially when you put calamansi!

Lovely presentation and ok tasting food. Imagine this being served in a food court (ok fine a more upscale Mega Food Hall)

I love how i can mix and match the main dish, side dish and rice. On this visit, i had the Chicken Cashew which was sweet and spicy. The Cucumber Salad was tossed in vinegar. it had a bit of a kick. The Thai Fried Rice w/ Chicken was flavorful and complemented my other choices.

Although food isn't exceptionally good, it isn't bad either so I wouldn't mind eating here again.
