New Bombay is actually the first restaurant where I got to sanple Indian food years ago. Whenever I go back, I always make sure to order their Chicken Makhanwala (₱295), also know as their Butter Chicken. The tender, boneless chicken is infused with the tangy and creamy butter tomato sauce. Each bite has a decent amount of heat, but still mild enough for me to enjoy. The hint of butter at the end is always great.

With my chicken I pair it up with some Butter Naan (₱95) and Garlic Naan (₱95). Each order contains two large pieces of the lumpy, doughy flatbread. It is not crisp like roti paratha, and its thick, doughy texture makes it great for mopping up sauce and stopping it from spilling. The butter naan is a faborite of mine, but I discovered that the garlic naan is also nice. The tang and heat from the garlic pieces is a pleasant surprise.

All this heat requires something cool, and I always get a cup of their Lassi (₱85), an iced yoghurt drink that can be taken sweet or salty. I like the sweet version because it almost tastes like milk. It does a great job of balancing out the richness and heat of the meal.

Although this branch is smaller than that in the Columns, their ambience will give you that feel to get you in the mood for their food. Just the smell as you come in will awaken your senses.
Food: I take it they have toned the taste down to cater to the sweet local tongues of the Pinas market. Having said that, their meals ate still very tasty and if you like Indian food you will most likely enjoy it. We were actually pleased with the size of their servings. If i remember it right they even give you a piece or two of ...it's like a flour chicharon! 128522
Price: Php300 for a meal, which is not so bad, even for us shoestring-explorers.
Time to get rid of your stigma towards Indian food being smelly, too spicy or weird! Get there and try 'em! Order a lamb biryani! They have choices for vegetarians too!

I’ve been a supporter of their authentic Indian cuisine for years. More so in their Podium branch which is just a wild stone throw away from where I live. I must have eaten in their two branches 20 or so times.

If you peak at their kitchen you’ll see that it’s really Indian cooks who prepare and make them. This translates into somehow teleporting to their country of origin.

If you are a fan of pork or beef, this is not your place. This cuisine doesn’t serve that type of meat. If you are looking for a wide range of vegetarian and lamb choices, come and join me on my next visit here.

On this visit I only had two orders as I was dining alone. How I wish I documented the past visits too. Their Biryanis made of fine basmati has a nice array of spices that will surely make you have more of this carbohydrate.

I also had their best selling Chicken Tikka Masala. It had a hefty serving of tender meat drenched in tomato sauce and multitudes of other flavors. I suggest utilizing the sauce and pouring it to your rice.

You can also customize the level of spiciness and this they ask after you order.

I just love Indian cuisine! And it was great that:
1. My team mates had the sudden same craving
2. There's an Indian place near the office

Now i'm in no position to critique what's good Indian food and what's not, or what's authentic and what's not. As long as it has all those spices and tastes what I perceive as Indian, its good to me! That being said, I absolutely enjoyed the chicken tikka biryani, tandoori chicken, mutton mirchi masala, and what i could only describe as Indian longganisa(?). Apologies as I forgot what its called, but that was the surprise of the night. I never had it before and it looked and tasted like some sort of sausage. Delicious! Especially after dipping that into the assortment of dips and sauces from our meal!

Going back to the office I did notice a certain smell that stuck to my clothes and breath. But what the hell, ganun talaga... pag ikaw mismo ang kumain it wouldn't bother you at all. Sorry nalang sa iba haha 128514128539

I like Indian Cuisine but it’s not something that I crave for every now and then. It’s not my comfort food either and the husband doesn’t really fancy spicy food. But when I crave for some Indian food it’s that type of craving where I MUST HAVE INDIAN FOOD RIGHT NOW. Once or twice a year at most, we go to an Indian restaurant to curb my cravings.

New Bombay is one of our trusted restaurants when it comes to Indian food. I haven’t really been to a lot but having dealt with Indian bosses in the past, I have somehow had a taste of the authentic and they agree as well that New Bombay is not a bad choice.

It was a late night weekend craving that the husband willingly gave into so we found ourselves in BGC. Good thing New Bombay is open until around 12am I guess during weekends. We settled but we always have a problem with their blue lighting. I don’t like it. We checked their menu and decided to get the following ---

> Chicken Tikka Masala

My choice of dish for the night paired with Cheese Naan. Masala is a mix of spices. There’s no particular recipe for it. They generally call any mix as Masala. This dish had tender pieces of boneless chicken that were grilled in a thick tomato based sauce with an exotic masala. It was topped off with grated cheese. The sauce had a strong smell of spices and when you taste it, it will wake up your senses. It’s silky and smooth and creamy. I opted to get a mildly spicy version so that it wouldn’t be a pain for the hubby but I would say that a really spicy one would be the top choice. Also loved the notes of cilantro in this dish.

> Mutton Curry

This was husband’s choice of dish which he also paired with Cheese Naan. Mutton is practically the meat of an adult sheep and the term refers to the meat only and not the living animal. This dish was made up of tender chunks of mutton in a thick tomato based sauce with onion gravy. It’s then topped off with more onions! We asked for a mildly spicy version again and I would say that I liked this dish more. Maybe it’s because of the meat. The meat was more flavorful and went well with the strong spices.

> Cheese Naan

The warm Naan with gooey cheese inside was the perfect pair for our dishes. It held the sauces well. Loved the bite and the chewiness of the naan and we even ordered some extra for take out!

Overall, it was an okay dining experience. My only problem was the service. The servers were not as attentive. The lady who served the dishes to us didn’t seem to be in a good mood. She wasn’t so careful in serving the dishes to our table creating loud “bang” sounds each time. Also, I don’t think it would hurt so much to serve with a smile.

Restaurant lighting and decor, aside from the tables and chairs was horrible. I was hoping the food would make up for the subpar ambiance but it did not. It was mediocre at best and my stomach is currently hurting. If you're looking for the whole package for Indian/ Mediterranean cuisine I highly suggest Hossein's over this place.

Kara Pori had no flavour. Malai Kofta was okay, except for the gravy which didn't have a cohesive flavour (needs more cooking time, perhaps?). Dhal Makhani was watery. Aloo Paratha was so-so. The staff were very very nice. The Baingan Ka Bartha shone out amongst all the dishes we ordered. It was beautiful and sublime. I guess they've not reached the top of best Indian restaurants in this country, still, since they started. I still love you, Kashmir.

First Time to dine in an Indian restaurant. I ordered tikka masala (medium spicy chicken) and it was great 128077. I also try their best selling beverage lassi ( Indian yoghurt shake) taste : average ( a bit sweet )

This glorious dish is the ever famous Chicken Tikka Masala 128523 yep, did not forget the name because I will keep coming back for more. Reading the description on the menu it might make you imagine something weird cause it stated there "special gravy sauce with Indian spices" and when I asked the waitress she said it was like a tomato based dish so that got my taste buds confused. I mean gravy AND tomato? Eww. Luckily my friend loves Indian cuisine and told me to take a risk and try it cause it's really good. I've been trying to venture into new cuisines such as Thai, Indian. and Vietnamese. Trust me, this dish will make you LOVE Indian cuisine. I even looked up the recipe so I can make it at home but it's too complicated. 128546 we also ordered the green stuff some sort of pesto based chicken but I didn't like that. Also for mutton masala which was also good but not outstanding like the the chicken tikka masala. Everything is best pairs with a naan 128513

Chicken tikka masala's taste is indescribable but I really really suggest that you try it! 128115 this dish really opened my eyes to Indian food. Service is just okay though 128566

Great Indian food, authentic and really satisfying! We always get chicken tikka masala and chicken Malay masala for take out and then buy a bag of pita bread from the supermarket so you can eat 6-8 pieces of pita each (if your 2)

Been craving for some Cheese Naan with curry dip - True Food Indian Cuisine style. Problem is, they don't have a branch in the Metro. So I searched for an alternative. New Bombay came out and I was a little hesitant but still pushed hubby to get me some.

Since I am on bed rest, I can only summon the hubby. He went home with my Naan - cheese to be exact. BUT there was NO curry dip!!! 128555 Apparently, their Naan was just an extra order. Like if you'll buy Curry then you can get extra Naan instead of rice. But you know their dishes come in BIG servings so it wasn't practical to buy Curry which will serve 4 people just for my Naan dip.

Anyway...back to the Cheese Naan. I was disappointed. It was mostly burnt so you'll get bitter bites at times. Then the cheese tasted more like Eden cheese 128553 Major Cheese Naan fail!

Can anyone suggest where I can get good quality Cheese Naan with curry dip? Puhlease?!? 128534

The restaurant gives you the feeling that you're in an authentic Indian restaurant.

Be sure to eat here when you're not in a hurry or super hungry because it's always crowded and waiting time for food is around 15-20 mins.

Ordered:
- naan
- chicken and vegetable samosa --> winner!
- mix dal --> medium spice 128523128523
- biryani
- chicken tandoori 128078

Would have given it 4 stars but I was really disappointed with the tandoori. It tasted like a regular chicken bbq that I can buy anywhere 128532 All other meals were good though 9786

We ordered so much, but it all tasted the same to me. It was all spicy, which is not a problem, but the taste is all the same.

Chicken this, chicken that, mutton here, mutton there.

Ugh.

The only thing i liked was the naan bread and silantro sauce.

After a month, I'm back, catching up on my |ooloo backlog! Thanks to ate Lesley Ardelle E's #SuggestSunday, napressure ako. Hehe! And to prove her wrong, magpapaulan ako ng 5 stars! 128541

First up, new Bombay. My main objective was just to get my Samosa fix since I've been craving (and I was trying to avoid eating rice.) But when my friend's order came, it was good for 2 pala, so we shared that as well. It was a spicy chicken dish (I forgot which one 128532), so I couldn't NOT eat rice. Basmati rice pa! Haha!

Their Chicken Samosas were delicious! Plus, it was served with 2 sauces, which you can choose from, or, what I did, mix! Yummm!

The Chicken dish, though we asked for it to be mild spicy, still got me sipping water after every other bite. But for someone who's not fond of spicy food, I kept on eating.

I couldn't stop sa sarap!
(Naks, that kinda rhymed, pwedeng tagline... Conyo nga lang. Hahaha!)

Whenever I crave for Indian food, I go to New Bombay as it doesn't create a hole in my pocket unlike in Kashmir which is pricier. Both are good restaurants and both have Indian cooks.

I usually get the Lamb Samosa, Chicken Curry and Chicken Tikka whenever I go here as these are my favorites. For yesterday's lunch I got a Shrimp Kadai instead of the tikka. Can't really say much about the dishes as I'm slightly biased cause Indian food is my favorite!!! Haha. Go check out New Bombay if you're looking for an affordable Indian restaurant. ;-)

Was cravin Palak Paneer, unfortunately, they ran out of greens.. Sad.

Anyways..

I ordered Palak Kadai (+Chapatti) instead.
It was good! Very tasty (as well), indeed!

Then i started to envy our neighbor's Biryani,
so we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, boy it was heavy (and tasty, rich and flavourful)!

I'm a big yoghurt fan, so i ordered their sweet Lassi. It was good! It tasted like the ones being sold in Sagada!

Was unable to take photos tho, battery was maxed out. (Sigh)

Service wasn't bad, however, i think they're short-staffed, had to ff up on our bill a couple of times.

I've always wanted to eat in this place. They also have a branch in The Columns Makati. The food is great! The ambiance of this branch in The Fort is also good. Thumbs up!

I've never actually stepped into the restaurant, but the food that they deliver is AMAZING (tastes great, arrives on time, and arrives hot)!

I'm not a vegetarian but I always order the paneer tikka masala (cottage cheese in red curry) because it has got to be the BEST curry I've ever tried.

Honestly, I wouldn't even care what the restaurant looks like because of the fantastic standard of food.
