This has been around the metro for years yet this was the only time I got to try it. Call me a New Bombay newbie! I do adore Indian dishes but there are only few restos that offer such. One popular restaurant is this which has branches all over. We got their Chicken Tikka Masala, Vegetable Kadai (photo above) and Vegetable Biryani. I also their Lassi in salty type just to wash off that flavor. All their dishes were good. My friends and I felr that it were all balanced. May veggies so yeah...pa-healthy kami in that way. 128517 I liked how the dishes were rich not just in the sauce but also on flavor. This is a pretty good spot for some serious Indian dish cravings. 128521

presented in Indian names making it hard for me to determine which one to order. So I let my companions take care of it; they ordered fish biryani, mutton biryani, and chicken biryani.

Upon hearing our orders, the waitress gave us an are-you-sure-look. She then informed us that all we ever ordered are rice meals. Since we were more worried about our budget, we didn't think it was a big deal, of course, we were wrong. We ended up eating three kinds of rice meals with no other viands to kill the monotony.

While waiting, we were first served chicken and mutton soup. Both tasted real good. About 30 minutes later, they served the “biryanis,” which I realized are rice-based meals with bits of meat and different spices. The first thing I noticed about it is the color; they vary depending on the flavor. Mutton Biryani for one is of deep orange. It has chunks of mutton (lamb) that are so tender and tasty. It was really spicy but still edible. Surprisingly, I found myself enjoying it, it was real good.

The chicken biryani is of light orange color. If it weren't for the chicken strips you could easily mistake it for mutton biryani. Not only did they look similar, they also tasted the same. This one though is spicier.

My least favorite was the green-colored hemorrhoids-inducing, Fish Biryani. Man, this one was incredibly hot, the kind that could literally bring tears to your eyes. Don’t get me wrong it tasted good, but it’s hard for me to appreciate something when my skin gets clammy and my lips start swelling. They say Indian foods are hot; now I know they weren’t kidding.

For drinks, we had Dry Fruit Lassi, the Indian version of yogurt fruit shakes. The mango lassi is sweet with a salty aftertaste. Strawberry Lassi is the best tasting one, with just the right amount of sweetness sans that weird aftertaste. Interestingly, they offer rose flavored lassi. It tasted like lychee only stronger.

Out of curiosity, I ordered Chapati, an Indian flatbread. Chapati they say, goes well with most Indian dishes. We also had Samosas, a 4-piece fried, triangular-shaped pastry shell with fillings, served with green colored sauce called chutney. My friend found it dry, I, on the other hand, found it amazing.

For everything, we only paid Php 1,400 which I think is reasonable. Their food is good, the ambiance is nice, and the place is accessible. The experience was well worth it. My expectation was met; Indian food is hot, literally and figuratively.

The place smelled like series of curry spices, most of their dishes had cottage cheese in them and has a generous amount of sauce you have to order either their naan bread or pilak rice to match their dishes, you would really taste authentic indian-chinese flavor in their dishes, i would recommed this to people who are adventurous when it comes to food 128523 its a must try

If you're looking for authentic Indian Cuisine, this is a great place to try! Food was flavorful and the aroma was more than appetizing. Couldn't exactly remember the names of what we ordered (kasi I let the fiance do all the ordering since he was more versed with Indian Cuisine) but whatever they were, I'd definitely go back and eat them again (hence the picture attached. hehehe!). The Fiance was also very contented with our meal (given that he's a bit critical with restos) and said we should try some other dishes next time. Even though we ate outside the resto, there was still quick service. Great dining experience! :)

I always recommend this to my guest and they always say, its the best indian cuisine in town! *high-five!*

On my list:
mutton rogan josh - all time favorite.. always on the table whenever i eat here.
Plain nan - i like it plain and its worth it for its price

Most of their staff are "ilonggo"..surreal.haha and i had the chance to meet and speak to the indian owner and we were conversing in "ilonggo" dialect. He made my day! Haha

A different cuisine from our usual family dining. 128513

While we are in Makati vicinity, my dad insisted we try something new. So we decided to stop by here given my parents already tried this in another branch.

What we ordered are the Strawberry and Plain Lassi drinks, Lentil Soup, Chicken, Fish and Lamb Tandoori Specialties and Saffron Rice.

The lassi drinks were my favorite - yogurt! The rest of the dishes were delicious too - curry-based and a burst of flavor of different spices! 128077 The lamb, yum! 128523 Saffron rice was good too with its long grain freshness.

For its price and ambiance, it ain't bad too. The service was great. A great place for Indian food selection! 128079

Indian food is quite healthy, as it is mostly vegan-fit. I chose New Bombay as the location for my dinner date with college buddies since i was craving Nan, and i was still jumpstarting my healthy diet plan. The eggplant entrée was fantastic! It didn't look dashing but it sure was tasty. I specified a medium level of spiciness in it, so it was fairly tolerable. Price is okay, fairly paid 2k for the whole meal good for 3. Not bad! I'd be back when cravings strike.

We ordered Chicken Biryani Rice, Fish Tikka Massala and plain Tandoori Roti. You can request to adjust the spices, we requested for Mild of course. I also had their bestseller yogurt drink, Almond Lassi- very refreshing and unique drink. It's our first time to try indian cuisine. Surprisingly good.

Bilang ako'y isang Indiano Trixia C Justin J JP G Dell C Russel F eiLeeN T Jewjew B Gio C.. Kumain na ko sa New Bombay haha!

For appetizers, I got their Pappadum. Thin crispy lentil wafers with cracked black pepper and Indian spices. This appetizer is hard to appreciate because of it's strong flavors but I enjoyed it.

Tried their Mutton Curry which is Lamb cooked in lightly spiced homemade onion gravy. ONION GRAVY??! It was delicious and the meat was so tender that it kinda melts in your mouth.

Got their Tikka Chicken Masala also. Tender pieces of boneless grilled chicken cooked in tomato sauce with exotic masala and thick gravy. This was good as well but the Mutton Curry is better.

Their Strawberry Yogurt drink came too strong for me to the point na na-umay ako.. At muntik na kong masuka hahaha

Service level was fast but professionalism needs more improvement..

Servings are a bit small. But authentic enough for me. I love indian food. Their korma, tandoori, and their yoghurt drinks are as close as you get

I thought, for some reasons, I wouldn't be comfortable eating in an Indian restaurant... But I've proved it wrong.

This is my 3rd time in New Bombay and I like the food-everything on the picture! I haven't proven yet but I think it's really "authentic" Indian food. Cheese Naan is my favorite from the Breads. I order it instead of rice because they have really good dips to have it with. Try the Chicken Masala, it even has yummy chicken chunks. If you like Indian curry, they have different kinds. Chicken Tandoori is well-spiced Indian barbecue that's really good. Lastly, their yogurt shake, sweet Lassi, is creamy and sour- though I had to ask for extra water to lessen the sweetness. I've tasted the strawberry flavor too-it's a must try!

-1 star because I wish I could eat here anytime I want, but it's expensive.128532

The price is too high to eat alone. I found a gem in Masala Kutcha - it's like stuffed pizza. You can eat it by itself.

By the way, don't order the Roti if you don't have the curry.

Their Chicken with Biryani was totally awsome. It was also a good choice to have ordered their lamb curry and the Chickpeas!
