It's my first time dining at an Indian restaurant. I don't know if New Bombay is "authentic" but my brother and I really liked our dinner. 128516

We had:
Chicken Tikka Masala (I've watched a documentary saying this dish is not really Indian but it got nice looloo reviews) - 128155 this!
buttered roti - ordered this because it's healthier than naan
cheese naan - ordered this because I know we will not like the healthier flat bread 128513
mango lassi for me, and strawberry for my brother - both yogurt drinks were good 128077

Sorry for the picture. I'm extra lazy tonight.

I've tried New Bombay in Podium but haven't tried this one near me, so decided to try it yesterday.

First off, the waitresses didn't seem to know the food that well, but I give them leeway for that because this branch just opened about 2 weeks ago I think. And they were really nice and attentive, so all good.

We ordered the fish curry (~260) and the vegetable chicken wrap (~190), along with the pita bread (75) and the strawberry lassi/yogurt (85).

I regret not insisting on a spicier curry because it ended up tasting plain. Also a bit too runny. Would have liked it thicker.

My Dad ate the vegetable chicken wrap and he seemed to really enjoy it. It was also a big serving and really filling.

The strawberry lassi was okay. It tasted like watery yogurt with strawberry flavoring, which is precisely what it is. If you like yogurt, you'll like it.

All in all an okay experience. Will update if I go back and it improves. Haha..

Ordered the mutton masala, 3 kinds of naan and 2 chicken biryanis (1 mild and the other spicy). Both of the biryanis were absolutely delicious! 128525 The mutton masala tasted different compared to the last time I ate here. But it was still good when paired with the naan. Also ordered the strawberry lassi. Good stuff!

My parents said it's not as authentic, but I can't tell since I haven't had "authentic" Indian food in years. In my opinion, I think they alter the taste a little to suit our Filipino tastebuds. 128540 Nevertheless, New Bombay is a must-try restaurant if you want a taste of something different. 128515

Upper Left: Plain Naan
- Liked this one better than the buttered naan. Paired this with the Mutton Masala and it was a winning combo! The naan was chewy, which I liked, and it tastes good.

Lower Left: Chicken 65
- Chicken with onions and green bell peppers coated with a spicy sauce. And it was spicy, indeed. 128541 Tasted okay. The cucumbers around the dish balanced the spiciness of the dish. Not sure if I would order this dish again though.

Upper Right: Mutton Masala 128077128077128077
- My brother and I agreed that this dish was a winner! It tasted reallyyy good! Tasted authentic, too! Tender meat and yummy sauce. 5 stars because of this delicious dish!

Lower Right: Chicken Tikka Biryani
- I like basmati rice because it's fluffy and the grains don't stick to one another. I liked this version of biryani and I also liked the fact that the chicken was boneless! Tasted spicy but I was able to take the heat. 128513

There are only few Indian food fares available in malls. So I was really glad that there is New Bombay when I visited Robinsons Ermita.

We ordered Sweet Lassi (please don't ever make the mistake of trying Salty Lassi!! 128557) and Almond Lassi first. The latter was just Sweet Lassi with almond, no almond juice was mixed with it. Both were iced and not blended so for the price, I was not happy. 128529

Then we had Tandoori Prawns which were good, but they were so tiny. They should be named Tandoori Mini Shrimps or something. Then we also got the Vegetarian Kofta Balls which were 4 small pieces drowned in good curry, which I accompanied by warm naan bread (separate order).

Don't get me wrong, the food was good but the price is not. It's good Indian food but I just didn't have a choice in the mall that's why we went here. I think you could find similar quality of food elsewhere for the price they ask.

128561: Price; iced Lassi

Ordered the Chicken Biryani, Chicken Tikka Dry, Chapatti, Buttered Naan and the Strawberry-flavored Lassi.

They ask you how spicy you want your biryani to be which is awesome because I don't have a high tolerance for really spicy food. 128077 The biryani was yummy! I literally went wide-eyed when I first tasted it. 128540 The chicken tikka was delicious as well. Tender chicken with an authentic flavor. The chapatti and buttered naan tasted good, too. However, the chapatti was kind of thin. As for my drink, I loved the strawberry-flavored lassi! 128522

Authentic Indian food with reasonable prices. Would definitely go back here again. 128522
