My sister and I couldn't agree on a place to eat. She was in the mood for something that wasn't so healthy and she figured she might as well pick a place that served delicious food. When she suggested Indian food, I was hesitant but game for something different. She remembers dining at New Bombay at least twice but couldn't recall if it was good or not.

On the table
čö╣Samosa - some parts of the pastry shell were crunchy but some were makunat. The potatoes and peas were well combined, not so mushy and pretty tasty. The Tamarind Dipping sauce was sour and kinda sweet. It had a weird after taste. We liked the Green Dipping sauce better. Not sure if that was cilantro but it reminds me of dips served with Mexican food.
čö╣Chicken Tikka Masala - a generous serving of boneless chicken chunks in creamy tomato sauce. Some chicken pieces were dry. We requested for mild spiciness and after one bite we figured we could actually get the next spice level next time. The cheese added a richness to the dish.
čö╣Plain Rice - a giant serving that can be shared by 2 not so hungry people.

Overall, the food was pretty decent, portions are good for sharing but service could be improved on. The server wasn't too helpful when we were trying to pick what to order. She answered in a matter of fact manner that could be characterized as pilosopo.

*although I like the font used for the menu, it is quite difficult to read especially for people like me who don't exactly have perfect vision

Tikka masala was top notch. Be sure to order a pratha with that. The mutton biryani was just tolerable, too dry.

We had the samosa, naan and butter chicken. All were really really good! And seeing indians eating there just goes to show that their food is authentic.

I hope they improve their service though.

You can't imagine my happiness whenever I see restaurants that have healthier or vegetarian options. And no, by vegetarian I don't mean I want a freakin' salad.

I was so excited to know that New Bombay had an entire array of vegetarian options - I don't know why I was so surprised when a good number of Indians are vegetarians.

I had the Eggplant Barta - basically eggplant curry with onions, tomatoes, green peas, and spices. And I found it just be okay, it was too creamy for my liking. As yummy as it was, it didn't seem as healthy as I wanted it to be. It gave me the heaviest feeling right after.

My friends wanted to try something new... We met up at Podium and someone wanted Indian food, so we went to try this place... I just didn't enjoy it=(
Buttered chicken somehow didn't do it for me=(

I've been craving for buttered chicken for a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. I'm glad Sheldon G asked me to eat at New Bombay. Buttered chicken + buttered rice = SOLB!

And I couldn't stop tracing the gold details of their tables with my fingers. They're just so pretty!!

-1 star for the langaw na nakiki-ulam.

Had lunch here yesterday. Ordered the chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, plain naan and grilled chicken. Now I think im having feathers from all these chicken dishes. 128020
Their best seller is the chicken tikka masala (medium spicy). Try it with plain naan.. I like it a little bit sweet to i also dipped it with their tamarind chutney. For drinks, try their sweet lassi (yogurt) i love yogurt so this is perfect.

I can't help but start with the negative point about visiting this resto today: the server was just too clumsy carrying a tray of tall glasses of water that one of the 3 glasses fell and spilled much water on to my Blackberry and my iPad. I quickly grabbed both to dry them up and Good thing, they're still functioning well, or else... The staff would not have heard the end of me.

But on the positive side... The staff gave us FREE Naan bread. They gave what we asked for, in exchange for the mishap. So plus points for their gesture of apology---a sign of good customer service.

Every time we come here, we order nothing but our favorite Chicken Tikka Masala with the plain Naan bread. I remember coming here so frequently for this dish when I was pregnant. Now it clearly shows in my toddler's spicy personality!!! She also loved the dish, so there's no hesitation about eating again in this little corner of India.

Food is definitely authentic. You can request it to be spicier if you want. Service here is like something from a carinderya, no finesse and very hard to get their attention. Try the chicken biryani and the ginger tea.

I admit I'm ignorant with New Bombay's cuisine. It seems authentic what with having Indians or people from adjacent regions frequenting this and the other one (Glorietta 3) I've been to. The menu is ├╝ber complicated since I am only aware of the surface of what Indian, Persian, and other parts of that region of Asia has to offer in terms of food.

Here's what I ordered or tried (since the couple we had dinner with ordered ahead of us).

Onion Cheese Pakora
Chicken Tikka Masala
Chicken Keema
Long grain rice with butter
Biryani

I enjoyed the pakora appetizer. Deep fried with tamarind sauce or the other sauce (forgot the name but it was green!) that was intriguing. Also had the chicken tikka masala. Not bad. Liked the leftover chicken keema and biryani my friends left over too.

There's so much to choose from in this resto's menu. Would I come back again, maybe, but it'll be few and far between. Sorry, Indian food lovers. It's just too exotic and spicy and curryish for me.

We ordered a lot of food. Too bad for our 'western' palates, too much 'asian' spice made us really cringe after the entire meal has been suffered.

I have to give it to the restaurant though--each one of the dishes we ordered really tasted good. The Malai Kofta that I and Joyce shared was the best out of all those served. It was a vegetarian [meat]ball made of mashed potato and cheese with cashew nuts and dried fruits inside. I partnered that with the Tandoori Roti and achieved perfection. We also got two mutton dishes--Mutton Masala and the other which looked like an Indian version of the Pinoy Kaldereta--and they did not disappoint. Taste-wise they were good, just too spicy for me.

One thing I did not understand though was why people (i.e. people I know) like the Palak Paneer too much to recommend it. I honestly did not find it special--the look, the smell and the taste. Although it wasn't bad, it wasn't as spectacular a dish as I thought it would be.

So after trying out all these good tasting spiced-up Indian food, I realized that if I go to India whenever I would still be looking for the nearest Mcdonald's to dine in.

Food is good and seems to be close to authentic because of the number of indian patrons. Service though is sometimes slow because of lack of staff.
