After an early run in nearby Circuit Makati, we were fortunate to nest in this ever-reliable spot in Makati Avenue. I remember frequenting this restaurant after a night in Makati, when I was much younger. It is open 24 hours and not many establishments until today are available round the clock.

On this Hong Kong style feast with 12 of us in their private room, we had picks of classic best sellers and relatively new offerings. We had the must order North Park Special Toasted Noodles, their prized dish on a bed of unbelievably crispy crown shaped noodles with a side of generous tasty toppings of fish, pork asado, mushrooms and other vegetables. To accompany that we also had Anised Beef Tendon and Nanking Beef dry noodles.

For starters, we got the usual fatty Siomai and some of their steamed and healthier Potstickers. These two are always part of my appetizers when I visit any of their branches. On mains, we got some fresh with a crunch Brocolli Flower on Oyster Sauce, Brocolli with Steamed Tofu, hoisin rich Pork Asado, well seasoned Lechon Macao and tangy Sweet and Sour Pork. We matched all of those with the usual go-to Salted Fish and Yang Chow Fried Rice.

On a sweet ending, we got too much dose of sugar with their Almond Jelly with Lychee. The Fried Mantao bread was way better, crisp on the outside and fluffy on its insides. It was good on its own even without its condensed milk dip

.

It has been more than a decade and they still stand, still around waiting for you and me. Thank you, North Park, for being around when we need you.

My ultimate comfort food most especially during my drunken days and it still is even when I'm sober 128514

Ordered:
Lechon Macau (Php258) - due to inflation, the serving size became small 128546
Century Egg & Jelly Fish salad (Php108) - simple yet a great starter meal
Siomai (Php93) - super sulit cause it's big and meaty

Greasy, MSG-packed Chinese food! Vinegared tofu will remain to be a favorite! Dimsum is good and every other item on the menu is just as good.

My favorite: Angsho beef with mushroom wanton. I also love their kingdao spareribs, boneless honey chicken, and my new discovery: fried bread with cream dip. Gotta have some tom!!

Craved Chinese, north parks delivery was going to take over an hour so switched to next door. Ordered yang chow fried rice, beef with broccoli, prawn dumplings, and sweet and sour pork. Bill was 959, asked for change for 1k. Delivery guy arrives, gives the maid the orders, asks if the order is okay, THEN LEAVES WITHOUT GIVING THE CHANGE.

So I call them again and say that the delivery guy didn't give the change, and am informed that the guy assumed the change was his since the orders were okay. And instead of saying they'd give me my change, the girl on the phone says the delivery guy wanted to explain why he didn't give the change, but I was so angry I just hung up.

SALTED GARLIC SQUID.

This is what sold me to North Park / Next Door Noodles. It is the perfect ulam: easy to cut into, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, salty and garlicky (as the name implies, haha!).

I always order this. I can eat this with plain rice, but when I'm feeling PG, I order Yang Chow fried rice. 128522

So anyway, early this week, after a week-long diet, I celebrated my break from healthy food by having MSG-LOADED FOOD. Woohoo!

We ordered salted garlic squid, salt and pepper spare ribs, lapu lapu in superior sauce, garlic kangkong, prawn dumplings and yang chow fried rice. I also ordered a banana shake, but I don't recommend it because it tasted like they put fake banana flavor in it. Or maybe they used over ripe bananas. 128540

The food was great! I would have been happy with just the squid, but the lapu lapu was good as well. 128077

You will never go wrong in choosing their lechon macau rice toppings! It's crispy & tender! I also love the combination of the meat, the sauce and their ensalada which I forgot what it was by the way, it gave a sweet & sour tangy taste that made me eat my rice more.

Dined here on a Holy Thursday after Visita Iglesia. They probably weren't prepared for the number of people that dined that day. There was only 1 empty table when we arrived.

Ordering was a struggle: no more chicken left except for hai nan, last 2 orders of sweet & sour fish, last order of rice, lumpia rolls took about 45 minutes. We left still hungry.

The other day before going to my clinic at Malabon we decided to drop by at North Park at Ortigas Home Depot. Hubby wanted something light (daw hehehe). And so, we ordered their Crispy noodles, sharksfin siomai, and siopao.

Everything was good. The siopao was perfect paired with the noodles. Made our tummy happy with very reasonable priced food:)
