We always pass by Nic's whenever we hang at UPTC.  I wasn't really intrigued by them hence we are only trying them just now.  From afar i can tell that they specialise in pastries.

The key lime pie caught my eye.  Okay,  let's see what you're made of Nic's.

Key Lime Pie.  The filing sports a lovely green hue.  This got me a lil giddy.  As for the taste,  the crust and icing needs improvement.  Texture of the icing seems off,  it semi frozen.  Saving grace is the filing!  Perfect proportions of sweet and sour x tart from the lime.

Three stars for now,  Nics.

NIC's has been around since UPTC's early days, but I have never tried their food and desserts. After last night's dinner and drinking binge, my kabarkada suggested this place and as usual I was game.

I must say that NIC's greatest resource is their friendly and engaging staff... We were immediately welcomed, seated, and given menus. Suggestions and warm smiles were offered. My friends had coffee/tea (I had to visit St. Marc's instead) and we shared three of their cakes. The least popular among the group was the lava cake-- sweet on sweet and small... The key lime pie was actually okay, tangy and sweet combined with a good crust. The peach walnut pie was the best among the three, because it was loaded with a lot of nuts... But the presentation was sad and very haphazard as you can see from the pics. That's how they looked as they set it down the table. It wasn't appetizing to look at and I didn't want to take pics tbh. 128528

Dulcelin's desserts pack more of a punch at a similar price range...

Loved the Oatmeal Cookies. Soft, chewy and moist. Huhu. Can't explain it well but I am craving for it right now. I went back to buy again today but it was sold out. 128553

It's 250 pesos for a tub. I forgot how many cookies were there. Basta, stick with the cookies, it is the safest choice here.. For the other items on the menu, I think there are better and cheaper alternatives out there. Hehe

First time to try this resto out. My friend and I just ordered desserts and coffee.

We got:
Brownie Walnut Cluster (120PHp)
Dark Turtle Brittle (120PHp)
Salted Caramel (95PHp)

I liked the first two compared to the last one.

Plus iced café latte (115PHp)

Passed by and couldn't resist taking some free samples (as always). Ended up buying a package of their Parmesan crisps because they're so good!! It's salty and sweet and crunch and cheesy and really addicting! Also got a box of lemon squares and they're good enough to satisfy my frequent lemon square cravings :))

They have a lot of their stuff out as samples, so you're free to choose what suits your taste!

Salmon Caesar Salad was good. The dressing was more than enough so it wasn't dry. I loved their Mango Banana Shake. 128077 Service was good too. 9786

We ordered the crispy adobo flakes meal. It was served with garlic rice, tomato, and 2 eggs. It was okay. Not worth the P295 tho. 128532 My friend ordered the Salmon Crunch (P375). It was served with Mashed Potato. THE MASHED POTATO WAS SO DRY. 128561 It was like eating sand actually. Oh well.

Forgot what this frappe is called but it had bits of brownie in it. Haha I actually just got it to kill time while waiting for my friends for dinner. I also tried the free taste of their dips and they were really good! The salmon one was my fave! Perfect to buy for giveaways or to serve to your guests at home or just for self consumption! 128077
