We're supposed to play beer pong last Friday, but Cable Car was jam-packed. We decided to stay at Niner Ichi Nana instead. As per my previous review of this bar, I loved how cozy and comfy the ambiance here.

We ordered Duck Fat fries, Korean fried isaw, and some sausages as pulutan. I had beer, while my officemates had mojitos, and cocktail drinks. The fries were really good. It's my usual order here. 128517 Surprisingly, the Korean Fried Isaw was delicious as well! I think this is a new item in their menu as I haven't seen this before here.

Based on their signage (and from my experience too), they are open until 3AM during Fridays. But what I didn't like in this visit: last order at 1:30am for both food and drinks. For the food, okay, understandable. But for the drinks, even for the bottled beers? Awww. I politely asked the server if until what time they close every Friday. 3AM. But they will close early daw that time. Okay. Come 2AM, they opened most of the lights in the restaurant, as if indirectly telling us to leave. Ha.

P.S. I hate to give this 3 stars, since this is one of my favorite tambayans after work. But oh well, I hope next visit would be better.

Whenever Cindy S and the rest of the gang can't decide where to drink after work, Niner Ichi Nana is our go-to place.

I like Niner's ambiance. It can give the privacy one needs.

Niner Ichi Nana is connected to The Hungry Hound. That's the reason why the staff will give you 2 sets of menu upon entering the restaurant.

During our last visit, I just ordered beer while Cindy S tried their Wood Picks (photo). It has Makers Mark, Frangelico, lemon juice, fresh strawberries, and egg white. It tastes sweet for me. They have a very wide selection of drinks. Their cocktails are innovative.

For the food, I ordered Duck Fat Fries. This became my instant favorite. Not good for my diet tho. I liked its blend of parmesan and garlic confit. Definitely a good pair for my beer. Arzola tried their Sriracha Buffalo Wings. The bleu cheese dip is good too.

Music can be very loud on a Friday night. You know, people partying. But since there were just few customers last time, we politely asked them to lower down the volume so my friends and I can hear each other. Yup, they did!

P.S. Niner Ichi Nana is open until 3AM every Friday. I think it's only up to 1AM on a regular day.

The Kalibo oysters was really good. I suggest go for the fresh 1s. Avoid the pasta. Their mains are good but expensive. During happy hour you can avail of buy 1 take cocktails.

There was so much hype for this resto-bar last year, probably because it's owned by Erwan (Anne Curtis' boyfriend).

I didn't find anything special with their food and drinks other than presentation, but we all know that plating and design can only get you so far. The priority must always be the taste.

I liked their Gin Fizz Cocktail, though I barely tasted the alcohol in it, it was refreshing.

We ordered the Duck Fat Fries and Braised Pork Belly and Scallops, it was okay. The fries were a bit oily as expected.

I've been to Hungry Hound a couple of times and have always been curious about their extended bar area. Apparently a whole different bar concept which name i couldnt seem to recall.

Finally, i saw Solenn's IG post about Niner Ichi Nana and figured it out.

The receiving area for Hungry Hound and Niner Ichi Nana is the same so it was as ever pleasant and for a Friday night (around 11-ish) i was surprised they got us a table that fast.

We originally wanted to try their themed cocktail drinks named after popular TV series but unfortunately was not available. And so we ended up ordering a bottle of their South African reds - the Ribshack Vintage Blend (P1100) together with Duck Fat Fries (P288).

The bottle was good for sharing max upto three persons and the fries had decent portion and actually more than enough bec we didn't finish the whole lot.

Excited to go back and try the rest of their cocktail drinks!

(Sorry, wasn't able to snag a photo because was having so much fun)

Tasteless, rubbery beef priced like it's a decent meal. A true Erwan Heussaf restaurant style.

Duck fat fries all day. They SMELL AMAZING. Seared foie gras sliders are pricey, but when is foie gras ever cheap. Ducks are just delicious and I swear they put duck on half of their menu in some form. The food is actually from neighboring Hungry Hound, but I was able to enjoy it in the joint space of 917.

The drinks were just OK. Peach sazerac was decent, but I was really disappointed with the local brew, Hounds Bark. For something with 9% alcohol, it tasted remarkably weak, thin with no head, and overly fruity. Tasted as if it was one of my friend's home brews, made of a flavor of beer just because they could, and not necessarily because it was a flavor that worked or was well-thought out.

Either way, the food was great and I enjoyed myself. Live DJ, trendy patrons, attentive staff. The drinks were quality and I'm only criticizing their value at this point.

Suggested this place when I was out and about with my dad. Upon entering I found myself staring at their high and beautifully designed ceiling. The dim lighting enhanced all the design aspects of the place. We took two bar seats so we could watch the drinks being made. My dad had a Paulaner since they had it on tap and I asked the bartender to make me anything refreshing. I honestly had no idea what exactly he put in my drink but it was great. 128069 And look at that gorilla cup!!!! The bartender (He's nicknamed after a popular cookie which I found so cute) attending to us was so nice and seemed passionate about what he was doing. I was observing him and he was smiling the whole time which in turn made me enjoy my drink even more! We had crab croquetas for our pika pika which were really good served with a spiced aioli and corn. My dad had another tall glass of beer and was feeling drowsy so I ended up driving the two of us home. (Who is the anak here people?!) Great ambiance, food & of course drinks. See ya again soon bartender with a cookie brand for a name! 128514

Came here for some drinks and the duck fat fries. The drinks we had were specially made for us by the bartender. He just asked us what base we like and preferences and viola! It was good, smooth with just the right kick. Duck fat fries, killer!

If u want to chill with friends, this is the place. Bu if u want to get drunk & wasted with friends, it's not, because drinks here are expensive.. 400/cocktail.

I've always tried to avoid any of Mr. Heussaf's establishments as I've read a lot of so-so reviews of his restaurants, and boy were they right.

I struggled to find food that would cater to my taste and appetite, finally settled for their old fashioned cheese burger (i wanted to get their lamb sliders but realized that I'd finish those in two bites).

The food was... meh.

Nothing really special with their burger, patty was bland, a bit juicy but nothing else. In fairness, the serving size was ok, patty was 1/3 lb or more. It would help if they seasoned it a little bit rather that it tasting like a big chunk of paper.

My fiancee ordered their fried oysters, it wasn't bad.
I actually liked it, however it didn't justify the 300+ price tag.

Drinks were ok too, we had the Mai Tai, luckily we came during their "Niner Hour", drinks were buy one get one.

Overall, both Niner Ichi Nana and the Hungry Hound set the bar for mediocrity. If you want to go to a place where the ambiance is nice, good music but everything else was just ok (and you're willing to burn cash to see Mr. Heussaf bartend for you) then this is the right place for you.

If Solenn was here and prepared our drinks the next time, I'd give them 4 stars lol.

My friends and I thought it was too early to go home after we had dinner at Mesa, so we thought of a chill place to try.

Really nice interiors, good bar chow, and the cocktails are good too!

I love how we can still talk even with the music. We didn't mind sitting by the bar. 9786

We ordered their Duck Fat Fries, which for me, is better than Green Pastures.

My favorite drink is their Cold Rosalinda! Very refreshing but with a kick of alcohol 128521 drinks are a bit expensive, but we didn't mind because other establishments don't have the same menu naman.

The only thing missing? A sighting of Erwan H making our drinks! 128514

Liked the deemed light ambiance we were seated outside because tables inside were reserved for an event but the way it was built it is as if you are not outside. Even when it became crowded there's still room considering the place is small. It would be nice though if there's enough ventilation to rub off the smell of cigarettes. Cocktail wise good I ordered Cold Rosalinda can't distinguish the alcohol from the lime and because I am not a drinker I enjoyed drinking it as if I'm drinking calamansi juice but kinda sad they used ordinary glass - I wanted the skull mug! The one in the picture is Pink blush per my friend it was ok.
I think for a pricey cocktail they should give more kick or twist in it. Compared to the one I tried in a resort in La Union
Cold rosalinda is just that 'Cold' and sour 128513

Duckfat fries tastes good but nothing special same flavor as chillis or fridays.
Sliders nothing special too
Pricey as expected you're really paying for the ambiance, location and cocktails
Plus you get to see Erwan just sitting in a bar engaged in what seems like a meeting 128513

In my humble opinion, Pogos are the definitive bar chow for Niner! You simply have not experienced Niner if you have not had Pogos. I find my self raving about them despite their simple nature. Much like the corn dog waffles of my childhood past, but 2 steps above. Instead of plain dogs, they use Schubligs. The marriage is simply wonderful. Cut into them, add a dab of mustard and ketchup and you're in for a slightly spicy, slightly tangy, slightly sweet, soft and crunchy treat. Pair them with a cool bottle of Corona or a shot of Johnny Double Black and you've got yourself a Wednesay Club winner!!! 128077128077128077

I like the hennessy drink with milk frothe smores and wafer stick. I also like the schublig pogo. It's a mini corndog and to me the sausage inside is really delish and juicy. We tried the duck fat fries but I see nothing special about the taste nonetheless I love the mojito. Subtle and refreshing. The waiters are accommodating and nice. Sadly, I wasn't able to see Erwann bartend today. Better luck next time to us.
