NAIA Terminal 1

I've always avoided booking for a flight with an airline that is assigned at Terminal 1, even before the "laglag bala" MO, even before it was hailed as the worst airport in the world. For the longest time, it just really had a bad rep.

Last weekend though, I had an impromptu trip. And with fares going sky high, I just didn't have the right to be choosy. I haven't read any recent news or reviews of Terminal 1, so I was really surprised that it was actually in good condition. Inside the waiting area, after passing through Immigration, there were numerous restaurants and stores open past midnight. I was seriously amazed.

Now, this terminal is actually better than T2!128079128079128079

Last flight was surprisingly a breeze! Everything went fast, smooth and convenient! Props to the newly renovated areas and interiors. Even the wash rooms were clean and equipped with toilet papers. Hope they keep this up and continue to develop all the other airports more.

Had an efficient departure from and arrival at this airport last week128522128077🏻 Airconditioning was great--maybe a bit cold for some. Free wifi remains available.

But the best improvement imo would be the availability of Grab taxi/car booth in the arrival area. Yey! I finally bid goodbye to the white airport taxis & their unbelievable rates! I really don't understand why airport officials don't regulate the operations of those white airport taxis. I pity the locals and foreigners/tourists they victimize.

I wish the Grab booth will be placed nearer the exit door to give people good options esp. for those who are not yet aware. Grab booth is currently situated in the rightmost part of the arrival area upon exit, after the bus control area.

I like the layout of this airport better than terminal 3. Aircon is really cold & free wifi is available. Departure and arrival processes are both efficient 128077🏻

I just didn't like that if you arrived early and you needed to use the restroom, you have to exit and then pass through security process again as you enter (line can be long) although there's a passage to the restroom inside the airport 128533

Tip: Don't forget to check with your airline or naia beforehand if you have to pay travel tax so you pay the same before you do check-in 9757🏻️

It has improved a lot and probably it's the best among the other terminals that we have in Manila. It could be better if we would really like to promote our country.

Good thing there's more dining options unlike the other terminals.

Haven't seen the improved version of this Terminal, but the last time I was here, it was pure chaos! I do wish they really have improved because I don't want to experience the chaos again. Imagine the stress instead of the enjoyment that comes when you're on vacation.

I'm only happy to be here whenever there's a family arriving from other country. Imo. Never mind waiting sa magulo at maingay na waiting area because happiness comes pagdating ng loved ones!

We grabbed the airport cab on our way home, paid 1,200 from here to Kamias QC. Ouch! 128531

This terminal has been poorly and shabbily maintained for the last many years. There aren't a lot of food options, and it's basically overcrowded every time I fly out of this terminal! The queue just to get into the terminal is ALWAYS horribly long, as there are limited numbers of X-ray machines. Immigration is also a horrid affair, with long queues and rude officers. I've had many run-ins with them in the last few years. :(

Thanks to all the publicity after being named the worst airport in the world, they are FINALLY renovating this terminal. I have no idea how long this is expected to last, but the last few times I've been here, the renovations are still ongoing. And that of course has created some inconvenience for passengers. I would continue to tolerate this inconvenience, however, if there really will be vast improvements made in the near future. Fingers crossed.

Despite significant renovations it's still a thumbs down!

Food choices are poor and the service in the restos is bad!

Immigration and check in was pretty okay though.

We spotted a huge rat. Omg! Like it was the same size as my dog!

Worst airport ever.
I'm also angry that I have to pay a 550 terminal fee everytime I go out of the country.
Instead of just bringing dollars you have to still bring pesos. For what?! They still do not renovate ?! Talk about corruption.... Tsk tsk tsk.
Only airport that i have ever been to
that asks for a terminal fee. That should be included in the ticket.

It's an embarrassment to our country. Since
Our aiport should look nice because that will make a good or bad first impression for foreign tourists.
Im also angry that our airports doesn't have airport trains connecting to Terminal1 to 2 to 3 to 4. What will you do if you have a connecting flight to other airlines?! And it's your first time in the Phils?! You might miss your flight because of the traffic from different terminals. They should renovate it because its the main airport of international airlines tsk tsk

As they say, this is one of the oldest and outdated airport in the country today. That's why it has been listed as the world's worst airport. 128546

Good thing is that it is undergoing a major renovation and the gov't is trying to make the airport look good. There are lots of places that are covered in boards because of the construction. You could clearly notice all the work that is going on.

Had a flight with Malaysia Airlines here and didn't have any problems at all. Lines are not that long at immigration and at x-ray scanners. Overall, they are doing their best to improve the airport. I just hope that they will continue what their doing and not suddenly stop because of political issues.

Whenever am in this particular airport, whether it be for pleasure or work - seeing our Pinoy OFWs always hits a soft spot in my heart. Once an OFW, always an OFW (by heart)

Kudos to all my fellow Kabayans traveling to respective job sites today.

PS. NAIA Terminal 1 is on-going a revamp. Cheers to this renovation, finally! 9992127758128077
