The Nobu restaurant definitely has one of the best seafood and sushi selection in the metro.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to one of Chef Kirika Oi's 8-course degustacion dinners a few days back, and boy, was it an experience!

My favourites from the 8-course meal were Chef Oi's Sushi Selection, Rock Shrimp Tempura Creamy Spicy, Black Cod Miso, and the Miso Cappuccino for dessert. The cold dishes which included the sushi tasted like the fish were just plucked out of the water, and the hot dishes like the rock shrimp tempura and black cod miso were just seasoned so well that i really couldn't find a fault in them. The amazing meal was even ended on a high note with the Miso Cappuccino - the creamiest mousse topped with candied pecans, vanilla ice cream, and miso foam.

The food, ambiance, and service is absolutely great at Nobu.

Kurobuta and Sisig Baos?! Adobo Sushi?? Who knew Nobu of all places would even have these??
Been meaning to try Nobu Restaurant but knowing that I’ll have to brave the airport traffic just to get there has been enough to make me not want to go.

One Saturday night, I finally decided to go there to see if it really holds up to its title as the world’s most recognized Japanese restaurant.

Just like the restaurants in Solaire (yes I know this one’s in City of Dreams), this place looks real fancy… and empty. I only spotted about 2 other groups in the restaurant and they’re not big groups by any means.

There were a few people dining at their gorgeous sushi bar in the middle of the restaurants while the group pods surrounded by wooden slit walls (I don’t know what they’re called obviously haha) right when you enter remained empty.

FOOD

I tried their Nobu Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna (Php 690).

I felt like this was more gimmicky than yummy as I couldn’t even taste the tuna. Ended up eating it using chopsticks instead of the flimsy toothpick-like things it came with. Pretty presentation though.

Also tried the Nobu Style Taco (Php 480 for 2 tiny pieces) and I honestly think this one was a waste of money. While the salmon was good, the whole thing didn’t have any flavor. Maybe it was intentionally done like that to keep the integrity of the salmon? But what’s the point in calling it Nobu Style? EH. What do I know.

WHAT I DID LIKE

When we came in, they had Filipino inspired Nobu Dishes that I feel like they really nailed. Like their Whitefish Adobo Sushi. Local Lapu-Lapu with light adobo sauce and crispy garlic, this really tasted like adobo or even humba, for those who are familiar with the dish.

They also have Kurobuta and Foie Gras Sisig Baos (Php 530). Deep fried Baos with kurobuta sisig inside topped with seared foie gras. For this one, the bao to meat ratio is good (unlike other restaurants where it’s all bao) and the foie gras definitely can be tasted.

For dessert I tried their Nobu Halo-Halo (Php 420) which I finished all by myself thankyouverymuch.

When they served it I was thinking “oh gad, what is this mound of ice.” But when the server mixed it all up and I had my first bite - oh em chee (lol Clarissa P.). It was actually very good. It looks like a puke from my terrible picture taking skills but trust me, it was delish!

Overall, it was an okay visit. The restaurant definitely is pricey but if you order the right things, you’ll be pretty satisfied IF you consider the beautiful place you’re in and the restaurant brand.

Expect to shell out about Php 2-3k per head if you want to do appetizers, mains, dessert.

P.S. Their bathroom is also fancy. And they also give you hot towels to wipe your hands with after eating.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Manila! Aside from the food, it's the service and their well-trained staff that marked a great impact -- it's like getting the VIP treatment in every corner of Nobu.

My faves:
• Black cod miso
• Seared tuna sashimi salad with Nobu Matsuhisa's signature sauce
• Rock shrimp tempura
• US prime ribeye with teriyaki, wasabi pepper and anticucho sauces

Celebrated my mother's birthday here! Have absolutely no idea what we ordered because we just went along with what the waitress said, but everything they served was wooooow. Standouts (aka ones that I actually remember) were the black miso cod, roast chicken (the one with tomatoes), and the crispy rice with spicy tuna. 128523

My main concern though is that it's WAAAAYYY too expensive. 128514 I got surprised talaga that a bowl of fried rice is 1200?? And a can of Coke is 150? 128560

Oh well, special occasion naman. And they gave my mom a really good matcha bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream, so that was a great plus!

Thanks Nobu for a great meal and great service! 128588

NOW... I AM ON MY 900 REVIEWS! Yehey for me 128588🏼127881

After I opened all the 28 BADGES... This is it! My next goal is to reach the 1000 reviews. 128540

I was invited by my friend Ampy to join them to avail the Huawei Mate Senses Omakase Set at Nobu Restaurant. I know this restaurant is expensive, thinking that I could eat here for free is a privilege, and I am too excited about it when I heard the good news from her.

Ampy and I were too early to arrived at Nobu and the receptionist assisted us to our table. The place is huge, they even have veranda to see the golden egg landmark of City of Dreams Manila. Inside is dim, that you can feel the intimacy of the place. Nice place for dating lovebirds indeed 128525

While waiting for Liway and Marlon, I asked the server what will be the menu today, and handed me the list for tonight's Huawei Mate Senses Omakase set. It's a 6-course set menu, it's a little bit different from their 8-Course Nobu Signature's Omakase Set starting at Php4,480.00++ depends what Omakase set you will get...

When they arrived, we started our journey to experienced Nobu.

First they served the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño... small serving but each of the three-pieces sashimi is very flavorful. - 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5

Second, Sashimi Salad... I like the seared tuna combined with fresh lettuce, and of course the dressing... It super addicting. - 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5

The third one, Rock Shrimp Tempura with Creamy Spicy Sauce... The spice is manageable, i like the crispiness of the shrimps combined with the creamy sauce. - 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5

Fourth, the main, Black Cod Miso... this is the best dish served. If there's more than 5 stars I will give it more... 6,7,8,9,10 stars? LOL. 128514 So yummy!!! 128588🏼 - 11088110881108811088110881108811088110881108811088️ 10/10

Fifth, Assorted Chef's Choice Sushi... 3-kinds Sushi consists of prawn, sardines and tuna - 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5

And the last one, the dessert, Suntory Whisky Cappuccino... I thought its a hot coffee but its not. It's an ice cream. Vanilla Ice Cream with Candied Pecan and Cappuccino Foam - 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5

(Photos in order starting in picture # 2)

*The rating is based on my dining experienced with Nobu Restaurant. I did not pay for anything. 128521

Thank you Ampy and Marlon! 128536128153

Love this place! They use good quality ingredients which I believe some came from Japan! Some of my fave dishes are Tuna and Salmon Sashimi which melts in your mouth, worth the Php250/slice. I also love the White Fish New Style, it's seared with hot sesame and olive oil. Delicious!!! The Black Cod miso is so fresh and tasty, love the miso flavor it gives. Lastly, for dessert, i looooveee their Chocolate Royale (which i forgot to take a photo of), you must try it to witness how good it is. Trust me!! This restaurant might rob you of your money but it's worth to splurge once in a while. 128523

Nobu Restaurant's Karaage with Green Tea Waffle are so good! The butter on top of the waffle is so tasty. Not your ordinary butter. Waffle is fluffy and you can really taste the Green Tea flavor. And the Karaage is fried to perfection. I am not exaggerating here. ;) Perfect golden brown, perfect crisp, perfect combination of sweet and salty. This is a must try when you dine in Nobu Restaurant. 128522128076 #Karaage #GreenTeaWaffle #KaraageWithGreenTeaWaffle #NobuRestaurant #NobuHotel

Eating the best food is not for the faint of wallet. Nobu is a restaurant that will test your love of food vs. budgetary constraints. On my parents' anniv, my sister and I ordered the best kosher course menu they could offer and they didn't disappoint. Okay, maybe except for that baked fish (which is cheap compared to its better-tasting counterparts) and the bitter Lettuce of the salad (must be old leaves or too much nitrogen content). The result of the meal was one of the best we ever had of an 8-course meal. Definitely returning...for another special dinner. Need to save!

Beware of their wagyu. That thing cost half of the whole set we ordered. Lol!

Oh, and don't order their umami tea. Just...don't

With a contemporary zen ambience, this restaurant is one of the showcase gastronomic places one must visit when in City of Dreams. Excellent service, as well as unique selections, are what could define this as well. Personal favorites are the salmon omelette, okonomiyaki (with their umami ketchup), and of course their medley of matcha-inspired desserts. Price is not exactly tourist-friendly though, so better save up if you want the experience.

Went to Nobu for lunch so the main restaurant doesn't open till night so we ate at the Nobu Lounge. Same chef but different area. Food is more casual. I had the Nobu Bento box and it was just ok but the codfish was cooked pretty good.

Alaskan Black cod with papaya relish one of Nobu's signature dishes worldwide can be found in their morning buffet! Order this as much as you want. This is under their Shioyaki or the Chef's daily protein selection and you can have the freshest salmon too. This mostly Japanese menu includes okonomiyaki, salmon croquettes, bacon 128525 etc. and believe it, a Nobu style champorado and Nobu style Wagyu Cheek Tapsilog that are some of the best I've tasted. Have room for some desserts because they are knockouts too like the matcha pudding and muffins and mango sago. Biggest ever Nobu Resto I've read. How I would love to have breakfast here everyday and dinner soon.

Painperdu (French Toast) is part of the buffet breakfast. With lemon cream, yuzu curd and topped with tomato jam. Sweet and salty with a bit of acidity in one dish. Looks can be deceiving... Don't underestimate this tiny delight! Now I know why GM Marlon and PR Director Erika were raving about it! Two thumbs up! 128077🏼128077🏼

I mean, that halo-halo... file it under Foods to Eat Before You Die.

It's funny that the most mind-blowing thing we had in this fancy schmancy Jap joint was their version of a local dessert.

There was passion fruit, there was coconut milk, chewy mochi, strawberries, beans, flan, extra fine shaved ice, and other delicious stuff I can't even identify. OUT OF THIS WORLD.

Plus points for being humongous enough to be shared by all 7 of us!

Not as many choices as other hotel buffets, but I liked what they had. Imagine UCC and Wafu that's a bit more posh. I wasn't able to take pictures of their food, but presentation was really good. I had this pancake with poached eggs and a bit of mayo, a slice of french toats that was sweet and salty and sooo fluffly, their champorada has bonito flakes instead of tinapa and the chocolate they used was like the belgian chocolate kind, which was not sweet and really smooth.

Coffee was a bit bland though. But I still enjoyed the overall experience

If you truly love fresh Japanese food, you would love it here. The ambiance, service, music, and food made for a relaxing and much needed indulgence for my friend and I.

The foremost concern is the budget, but if you love rolls like we do, you will give them your money willingly in exchange for unlimited rolls. Lol. Why? Because they are FRESH, simple, and unmasked.

We had 2 rolls - Soft Shell Crab and Eel and Avocado. Both were just perfection. There were no magic sauces or fried stuff sticking out from every direction. It was simple, fresh, and delicious. You will forget all the other rolls you've had in the PH, I swear. These will probably go with your memories of authentic Jap rolls in Kyoto or Tokyo. Yep.

We also had cocktails - Champagne 95 & Mango Passion Martini (or something like this), which we also completely enjoyed along with the warm breeze of the al fresco dining area. Loved the taste, the punch, and the good conversation it brought (what good cocktails are about if you ask me!)

We will definitely be back with prepped wallets next time to try out their omakase sets or a custom 8-course degustation as recommended by their very helpful and friendly service team.

Did you know that Robert DeNiro is one of the co-founders of Nobu? He co-founded and provided creative direction for all of the Nobu Restaurants and Nobu Hotels around the world.

Let me say I have been here in Nobu more than any normal citizen has been. I frequent the place for their dessert. Yes. Dessert is really really good.
I do not know with the selections at the sushi bar for I do not eat raw. And I'm not in the position to be such a food critic.
The ambiance is really nice. I loved the outdoor seating! It has been my fave place.
Lo and Behold. I felt I wasnt treated right March 18,2015 , I bragged about this Restaurant to my friend. So I invited her for some treat. But we played trip to jerusalem while in there.
1st transfer - By the Bar
2nd - Smoking Area (We arent smokers)
3rd - Farthest. One wrong move I'll stumble on to the fountain bank and be dripping wet. They put us at the farthest area. It took me literally 5 mins to get hold of a server each time. So I basically wasted 30 mins or so.
Considering the price and the owner is there on that day. I really felt we weren't treated fairly just because we didnt order the 7k per head set. It was ridiculous. I do not eat raw and most of the entrees are sushi and sashimi. why waste 7k when I can order ala carte!
4th - Last coz we had to hurry out since mosquitos feasting on us. We were transferred yet again because bugs were over at our table since these people placed us at the most inconvenient table.

I've been there a lot and will prolly go back because of their dessert. I'd understand maybe that time they were prioritizing those who had reservations. But we were there eating and ordering for 4 hours. And Ive been a patron. Maybe I wasnt dressed fancy and I wasnt from the media that's why they deemed me as not important.
I'm an Editor for a magazine. I couldve used that but I didnt coz I just wanna be a normal diner.
No person who cannot pay will dare go to this place, I hope they treat everyone fairly coz all that will step there will and can pay.
