The eighth stop of day 2 (15th out of 16 in total) of the |ooloo X Parkmall Food Tour was Nokinocs. YES WE'RE ALMOST DONE! 128571 Actually, this stop was supposed to be the last, we were just fortunate to get a bonus stop, which I will also write about later. 128568

This restaurant is very new, so new that we just made it the day before their grand opening. I’ve never heard about them before, but Justine of Parkmall was actually very proud when talking about this place. She guaranteed it’s worth a visit. The newly opened branch here is the first one outside of Palawan. That got me all the more excited, since JP G mentioned that he has dined in their branch there and he was quite impressed. 128570

We were met by the owner, Ms Nenette and she gave us more information on the restaurant. Basically, it's a family business that they started in their hometown. They really took into heart the saying “support your own” that they even had their cute little nieces be the models on their marketing materials. The name of the restaurant came from the owner’s brother’s nickname which was Concon. Since then, their followers have grown so much that they decided to branch out of Palawan. They went for their first expansion here in Cebu because they saw the potential in the market. They have plans to expand in Manila too, once they have studied their possibilities. 128568

We were served a number of their recommended food items:

1.) Crispy Palabok
This was actually really good. The sauce was very well seasoned and the noodles was definitely cooked nicely. The crispiness comes from the abundance of chicharron on top. The proportion of the sauce to the noodles was spot on as well, not scrimping on anything. I really liked this dish. 128568

2.) Crocodile Sisig
This was good too. Apparently the owners came up with this because they wanted a more healthy alternative to having sisig, and apparently crocodile meat was the way to go. The texture of the meat is like a more gamey chicken. The taste of dish was really nice. It’s a good take on the popular Pinoy comfort food. It can pair well with a nice glass of ice cold beer, or with a steaming hot cup of white rice. 128570

3.) Chaolong
I don’t know where they trace their roots in their cuisine, but it sure is not the usual. This particular noodle soup dish is reminiscent of the famous Vietnamese dish, Pho. This is mainly because the ingredients, toppings, the rice noodles and even the taste are very similar. The color is just a tad different. The meat in the soup dish was absolutely tender and wonderful. I have no frame of reference as to what this dish was supposed to taste, but I must say I actually really liked the flavour. I could’ve finished the bowl if we weren’t so full already. I really liked this dish though! 128568

4.) Halo-Halo
True to everything I have read on |ooloo from their branch in Puerto Princesa, including Jayson J’s review, their version of this well-loved Filipino dessert is up there on the top of my favorite Halo-Halo list! It was absolutely delicious! The ice in particular was impressively fine and the cream or milk they used was great. The sweetness was just right that it was not too cloying. I really loved it! 128571

Overall, it was a great way to end the tour! (But we reviewers got lucky and so had the last minute addition of a bonus stop. 128569) Everything here is super affordable too! I really enjoyed the food here, and I would gladly come back! I probably would come back mainly for the Halo-Halo. Hihihi 128569
