After trying their Fish 'n Chips, I never went here for dinner.128584 Love their drinks though, plus the vibe of the place, and the friendly staff.

The Oarhouse Pub and Bar is a haven for photographers, beer junkies, football fans, and best of all, foodies.
Serving steaks and baby back ribs, cheese sticks with blue cheese dip, and tocino spam fingers deep fried to perfection as bar chow.
It recently opened its doors for lunch to those who don't want to drink "alcohol food" and who simply want to eat.
These days, medical students, office workers from the area, and the occasional hungry wanderer are the staple people of the iconic bar.
Lunch is a medley of tummy warming, sigh inducing food.
With value meals like shanghai rolls w/rice and chicken or pork bbq, fried chicken wings with chopsuey or pansit guisado, and a whole lot more.
Priced at under a hundred pesos with free drinks.
The food is enough to make the night owls start coming out for lunch.

My first. I can't believe I haven't tried this during medschool. Where am I during medschool days?!! I missed so much in Malate yet I stayed there, I studied there and even rented different apartments in the area. Dang!

• FOOD - We ordered calamares and nachos. Price was affordable and former had real and juicy squid not just breading. Hooray for that! First pitcher-- Strawberry Daiquiri. One word, THE BEST! Don't know how to describe it but it seemed fruit shake without any liquor but after a few glass, you know there's alcohol in it. I love those kind of drinks. It'll kick you in the end like a traitor! Second pitcher-- Amaretto Sour. Their bestseller and I must say it was really good. One of my colleagues didn't like it but I did. Daiquiri however was better.

• PLACE - Place was cozy upstairs with dim lights and soft couches. However since it's located in Malate district, there are foreigners downstairs with their customers so upon arrival we immediately went upstairs.

• SERVICE - SUPERB in every way. The server was so hyperactive but lowered her energy at about 12 midnight. 128514128514128514

I've been coming to this place since it opened a few years back. The "feel" is quite different from the other bars and pubs in the area - the ambiance is very relaxed, almost like the place itself is telling you to leave your worldly problems at the door. The set-up is laid back and cozy, definitely a perfect place for great conversation with friends.

The food is great! They have a wide range of bar chow available, from pizza, nachos, chili con carne, and salpicao. My personal favorite is their baby back ribs - they cook it perfectly, with the meat peeling off the bone easily :) The service is also excellent! Needless to say, I'll be coming back here many times for years to come.

There are three reasons why I love going to Oarhouse:

1. It's a chill place with good music. They often play The Beatles, Bob Marley, Janis Joplin, and Motown.
2. They serve amazing and delicious (and endorphin-inducing) strawberry and mango daiquiris, fries with beef toppings, and fish and chips.
3. They have beautiful photos, taken by none other than Sir Ben Razon, and interesting paintings hanging on the wall.

Plus the waiters are friendly and attentive, too! And Sir Ben is always there!
