The restaurant serves fresh seafood and good dessert. What I liked most about dining in Oceanica though was the view from where we sat. It's the restaurant in South Palms Resort so right in front of us was a glorious view of the beach, accented by the resort's colorful furniture. Apart from the food, I would definitely come back here for the ambiance.

We wanted to explore new restaurants along dumaluan beach and reached the south palms resort. The resort looks expensive and classy.

We checked out the resort's restaurant, oceanica. The restaurant is dim lighted and it was already dinner time by the time we got there thus the dark pictures (my phone is so not good when there is no natural light available)

For dinner, you have an option to order the ala carte menu or buffet. Originally the buffet was 1200+ but on the day of our visit it was on discount becuase the customers are few. So the discounted price is 980 php per pax. We opted for the buffet dinner.

The buffet dinner have mongolian and bbq dishes, breads, rice, salad, seafoods, fruits and desserts.

I enjoyed the chicken barbeque, the dressing of the beef kebab (may need some improvement on the beef's tenderness), the grilled fish, the seafood chowder (the soup was not thick but tasted good), the breads and the fresh salad. Their melon fruit was also delicious and i also enjoyed their dalandan juice, dark choco mouse and mocha cake.

The service was also good. The servers were very attentive and polite, they would offer to get you beer and juices of your liking. One of the waiter was also very responsive, since i accidentally pour water on my celphone (A glass full of water), he immediately gave me tissue without me calling his attention. When we requested for a cooler area they immediately moved us near the fans and helped us carry our foods to the new location. They even considered not placing us very near the acoustic band singing so it wouldn't be too loud for us.

Stayed in South Palms for a short holiday with the wife and her friends.

I'm thinking that they're still in their soft opening - service was pretty bad and the food was a hit or a miss.

The crispy pata was good but the sinigang was bad. The complimentary baked rolls itself were bad. (An indicator perhaps of things that came.)

Pretty good breakfast buffet selection and it varies per day (we stayed for 3 days and 2 nights) but they would constantly run out of some of the selections or they're intentionally rationing the food.
