Located at the second floor of a building. We had a hard time looking for it and deciding which set of stairs to ascend.

Quite an inuman place, I saw most tables with pails of beers...

I ordered the Octopus Takuyaki and Cheese Ramen. Both were right for the price. The former was tasty with its sweet sauce. Six pieces may be shared by two. I liked how they were generous with the octopus meat. The cheese ramen was good! Pretty filling. One problem though, i expected a spicy-ish ramen as specified by the waitress. It was not spicy at all.

Service charge added to my bill, I think was not worth it. Not to attentive staff, nor friendly.

Best takoyaki in Manila! 100841008410084️ It's quite authentic because it has "tako" or octopus. 128025

My friend needed a drink last Saturday night and I wanted Japanese food and live music for a change so I decided we go to Octoboy after a vocalist friend of mine told me her band used to perform there. Octoboy btw is a Japanese restaurant and is famous for serving authentic Takoyaki Balls. It transforms into a Japanese Resto-Bar during performances.

We decided to take the seats at the smoking area since it was a cozy night and the stage is located just right outside the restaurant. People seated inside could still hear the band playing btw and could watch the performance since they have glass walls.

I liked the ambiance, the crowd, and the kind of music the band played that night.

We ordered my friend's much needed beer, Bacon and Cheese Takoyaki, and Octopus Takoyaki which were infused with so much flavors. Both Takoyaki were good but i'll definitely swing by again for their Octopus Takoyaki which captured my huge appetite.
I heard a lot of people were also raving for their Japanese Sizzling Pizza, i'll give that a try next visit.

We ordered the foods one at a time and took 30 minutes or more for each to be served which i think was unreasonable considering we only ordered Takoyaki balls. So, 4 stars for now. 128522

After work yesterday, I wanted to have something Japanese so I headed to Octoboy, located on the second floor of one of the buildings along the Tomas Morato strip.

The place looks okay, open kitchen, some Japanese character signs hung up. I sat at one of their tables and was immediately given a menu. The waiter who attended to me noted that they're famous for their okonomiyaki (roughly translated to mean whatever you like grilled) which is a savory pancake with various toppings and their takoyaki, Japanese dumping balls filled with your choice of octopus, shrimp or bacon and cheese. They do also offer yakiudon, ramen, donburi rice, sushi rolls and sashimi. They also have alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Prices are 100-200+ pesos on average.

Since I missed the takoyaki I used to have with my college friends at a now non-existent restaurant in Robinsons Manila, I ordered their octopus takoyaki (140 pesos). I also got an order of their kani salad (165 pesos) since I've been craving it for a week. The salad arrived first. It's good for two people to share but I was able to finish it by myself haha. Generous serving of leafy greens, cucumber slices, kani and mango strips, Japanese mayo and those little fish eggs. 128077 The takoyaki on the other hand, tasted really good but there were only like 2 little bits of octopus inside each ball 128546 I would've wanted a bit more.

Overall, prices are pretty affordable and food tastes good. 128522

We felt the need to drink that night since we were already in Tomas Morato area. Mark suggested this place because of their delicious Takoyaki. Well, I think that's enough to convince me and go for a drink even though it's gonna be risky for our tummies. 128517

They have a live band performing some classics and contemporary songs that night. We settled for few bottles of beer we preferred, then we had Octopus Takoyaki and Chicken Gizzard.

Chicken Gizzard was okay, not my thing. Octopus Takoyaki was soft and tasty, that's really perfect to accompany our drink.

The service was good although we had to remind them more than twice about our orders.

Thanks for the night folks, Patrick V Mark B Christian C.! 128526128526128526

I forgot the name of this dish but it is like an oversized takoyaki ball with everything in it. Perfect with a cold glass of beer with friends while listening to band music

Ocotoboy's Takoyaki comes in six large pieces of this soft and delicate treat. Each ball is infused with so much flavors that burst. The flakes on top and the drizzles of mayo and okonomiyaki sauce made it richer, creamier i super love it! while okonomiyaki is by far the tastiest and most yummy okonomiyaki I've had over the years. 1002412807610024 plus live music!!!

First (japanese) octopus sizzling pizza 128561 And it was pretty good! But of course I don't have a solid grasp of "japanese pizza" and I'm not a takoyaki eater, so try it out perhaps? 128518

The best octopus takoyaki this side of town!

Consistently good. If you're dining in other restaurants in the vicinity and had a sudden craving for takoyaki, you can call Octoboy and they won't mind delivering it to you. ( in my case, on two occasions, my family and I were at Alfredo's across the street).

Parking is a bit of pain, as most Tomas Morato restaurants have limited spaces, but these balls are worth the juggle.128521128077

Never had a chance to dine here before due to their limited parking space. It was only by chance that there was an empty parking slot that we were able to finally try this restaurant.

To my surprise, the place was big compared to the one in Banawe. Moreso, the place is not shabby looking compared to their Banawe branch. I was thrilled! I ordered sushi and ramen. Loved both of my orders but I particularly liked the crunchy maki. It was worth the price since I ordered something like this in Ajisen Ramen but way more expensive. The ramen is good but if it's your first time eating here I suggest order okonomiyaki and takoyaki instead.
