A cleaner and newer version of Nihonbashitei.... Menu is the same though. I'm not so sure if it's just owned by Nihon as well... 128540 128077🏻128077🏻128077🏻

Ohsama Ramen is my secret hideaway during rainy, lonely nights/dawn. And it's always there waiting for me, arms wide open, ready to feed me 200-peso ramen goodness, paired with a plate of crunchy chicken karaage. How can I not give this store 5 stars? I wish they never close ever.

Dropped by for another unique bowl, the Asari Butter Ramen. This was suprisingly really good! I actually thought i'd be coming for beer flavored ASAHI ramen haha, but reading the menu, it said ASARI... and i think that stood for the clams. Ooops.

The garlic and butter clams went really, really well with the clear shoyu broth base. A little bit of salty, garlic-y, and buttery all in one bowl without any 'umay'. 128077 And just like my last visit, added P100 for the ramen set with chahan and gyoza. The gyoza may have needed some work but the chahan was spot on. Next up, the karaage ramen perhaps?

Ankake ramen (seafood), chirashi sushi, and buttered clams. Dad said the ramen tasted like chami pancit. I don't know what chami is, but I'll have to agree that it really seemed like I was eating pancit. Perhaps we should have ordered the shoyu ramen. We liked the chirashi better and we loved the buttered clams. We ended up eating the clams with the vinegared rice from the chirashi which had the sweet pink powder on top. Yup, we're pedestrian that way, but we like what we like.

I never noticed this ramen place until today, probably because it's overshadowed by the more popular Japanese restaurants nearby, like its neighbor Nihonbashitei. Layout is interesting. There's a big open space in the middle set up like a courtyard. Dad kept looking for the sumo wrestlers to come out to the courtyard. Service was ok but I got the feeling that the servers preferred hanging out at the kitchen than staying nearby to see if we needed anything.

Would I come back? Sure. Ramen costs as low as P280 and our favorite buttered clams (which we shared three-ways) is a measley P180.

I came here to try the spicy beef karubi ramen which you wouldn't find in other ramen places. I knew that this was one of their specialties and what would best set them apart.

You can even opt for a ramen set with chahan and gyoza. Being a fan of the Korean ramyeon, I thoroughly enjoyed the spicy beef broth with a beaten egg mixed into it instead of the usual aji tamago. It more closely resembled that than Japanese ramen, but I'm not complaining 128516

The chahan was fantastic but I felt the gyoza wasn't one of the better one's I've had. I'd still recommend to give it a try 128076

Side note: while eating the name 'Ohsama Bin Ramen' came to mind ha ha 9996

Place to be for excellent value-for-money ramen. We love the Shouyu Ramen and the Tonkotsu (Pork Soup) Ramen. The meat in both were very tender, soup taste was just right (not too salty). I like their Char Siu (Roated Pork) and Gyoza. Izzy wolfed down her Edamame, Salmon Sashimi, Gyoza and Chahan. The servers were extremely helpful and friendly. And the place is very clean and orderly. Added this in our fave restos list :)

Promising location and spacious place... But maybe they're still on very soft opening? Spicy beef ramen- ok soup, tough beef. Chirashidon- not so fresh sashimi and more on fish cakes. Wished we just ate next door at Nihon. And what's with the ohsama name? Like bin laden128561
