Ojousama Izakaya is currently our fave Jap resto that's near home. It's like 10-15mins drive, no traffic. Their menu is proud and their food is good, hence the price tag. Soba, Ramen, Yakitori, Yakimono, Teppanyaki, Sashimi, Sushi and even Bento - if you wanna sample a couple of their dishes.

What we usually order here are the following:

| Zaru Soba for 280Php - this is my daughter's fave! She likes Cold Soba in general. This one is served with more dipping sauce than what you usually get from Jap restaurants. Tastes like any other Zaru Soba IMO.

| Unagi Jyu Regular for 580Php - my usual order! Fatty tasty Unagi! No fishy taste and I like the sweet sauce!

| Katsudon for 350Php - hubby's usual order! Tender and flavorful meat, plus the sauce has the right balance of sweetness x saltiness.

| Katsu Curry for 340Php - another hubby fave, the curry isn't too strong and had a good buttery finish. Also, serving is huge!

| Spicy Salmon Sashimi for 298Php - my MUST order when we're here! Cubes of fresh Salmon tossed in a spicy mayo, that has the right sweetness, and tempura flakes. Each bite gives you this perfect crunch, soft salmon and great dressing! I can finish one order by myself!

| OMG Maki for 289Php - is another favorite of ours! It's OMG good! Rolls filled with shrimps, topped with Fresh Salmon, mayo and cheese, torched and finished off with fish roe! You'll get that addicting torched flavor with every bite!

The restaurant itself is simple, small and can get cramped when full but nonetheless, we love the food here!

Good flavor, good food quality. Not really an izakaya, though. It's not cheap Japanese food, but it's worth what you pay. We were just looking to have after-dinner drinks, and decided to go late one evening, no traffic, and parking was available. We had the Firecracker Maki, and Shrimp Tempura and some other stuff. The service was good and efficient. Our attendant was a little shy.

The only thing this place has working against it is the lack of parking space. You can park at the hospital parking across the road or on Russia street, if it's late at night. I'd probably also fit the facade a bit, so it shows up better, especially at night.

I wish Ojousama Izakaya the best, having it around we have another reliable place to eat in the Don Bosco, Doña Soledad area.
