It was one spontaneous unplanned day activity with the family. It has been a long time since my entire family was complete coming here. My brother, who finally was able to visit after a decade or so, wanted to see the island. We hoped to visit Nalusuan Island Resort. But due to the holiday activity, we ended up not going there .
Our next option was to visit a friend of my cousin, rented a banca that fits 10-15pax for 2,500php + bathroom and went island hopping around the vicinity of Olango Island. ️
The nice, crystal blue waters was just what we are eagerly looking forward to ️. The place where we docked was filled with wonderful fishes - big and small. We bought bread for the fishes and when you throw pieces of bread, they would just swarm the bread. It was just sooo nice . How I've missed living in Cebu! Lahat malapit especially the beaches and ocean plus there's always lots of new places or attractions to see. ️
When in Cebu, you don't really need to travel to paradise, because you are in paradise! You just need to write a list and go.. ️

2008 was my first visit to the island. My friends and I went on an island hoping around the small islands of Mactan, and we came across the fish sanctuary in the island.
After 7 years, I finally get to go to THE island itself. The port in going to Olango Island is just a few meters away from Mövenpick Hotel (just ask any of the locals there where the port to Olango is), some locals also take the ferry there going to Bohol (I didn't even know there was one here). Fare going to is 16php and the ride took about 30mins or so.
We got to the port and saw the blue green ocean. It was so nice. It's not like super wow, but a touch of something virgin is seen. ️️ For me it was just enough to do some relaxation and away from city life.
Things to do around the small island:
✔️Take a tour around the island by a habal habal ride
✔️Visit Olango Island Bird Sanctuary
Entrance fee for locals is 20php and 100php for foreigners. Best to know what time to come because it depends on the season when the birds can be seen. Bring your binoculars and cameras. Most of the migratory birds came from Japan, China, Siberia (to say a few)..
✔️Talima Beach Villas
For a more secluded place away from the city life. You can also do diving and snorkeling which the resort can arrange during your stay
✔️Olango Floating Restaurant
✔️Fish Sanctuary near the Bird Sanctuary
Despite being a one day tour, it was worth it. Lots of sceneries to see. If you're into photography, or even has an eye for such, this is a good place to explore your skills.
