It's been awhile, but I'm back in Old Oven!

I usually go for their pizza, risotto or other rice meals, such as the salpicao and beef stroganoff, but this time I decided to try something new, which was the Herb Garlic Roast Chicken with rice.

The moment it came out, I knew that the balat was gonna be hella tasty! Hehehe it was roasted...but it looked like it was fried. The balat was indeed tasty, but the meat wasn't so juicy. I ate the white meat though, so maybe the red meat that my mom took was juicier. The chicken meat could use some more flavor on its own, but the gravy, which they were generous with, made up for the lack of the flavor. The rice and veggies were good, all cooked well naman.

P200+ for that serving size is okay, but I think they can season the chicken better next time.

They were also not consistent with the way they prepare this particular meal, because the second time we had this, the gravy tasted different and the chicken didn't seem to be cooked exactly the same way it was the first time. There's definitely room for improvement for this potentially good meal.

My boyfriend and I had the following:

1. Garlic and Seafood Pizza - thin crust, it was alright. Very garlicky.... Duh.
2. Peri peri chicken wings - loved this! Their wings were big and the coating was yummy.
3. Spaghetti Bolognese - I didn't like this.... The sauce was too sour and it smelled weird.

Overall, it was an average experience. I think I ordered the wrong items... 'Cause from Abbey A's reviews sobrang adik nya dito na 5 times na niya nireview to hahahaha Anyway, the place looked cute and they had board games. Price wise, we paid about P700 for everything.

As foodies who “somehow” plan, we plan half of the stops we’ll visit. N mentioned that she wanted to visit Old Oven so we made sure that we have enough space in our tummies for its risotto and it was one of the best decisions, ever!

The Old Oven Art Café was our fifth stop during our White Plains food trip so just imagine how full we should be. It may sound bizarre though as we weren’t really that full at all.

We had a hard time finding Old Oven as the numbers seem to be a bit messed up. But the place is fortunately just a few steps away from Pan de Amerikana.

We were greeted by a curved staircase and once we entered, it seemed like a chill hang out place for college students. With friendly prices, this place is actually perfect to be along a university district so N and I find it odd that the place is in White Plains.

We practically own the place when we were there. I took two jars with puzzles for us to enjoy while waiting for our food.

First served was the Mushroom Truffle Risotto (PHP245). It was great! Serving was pretty generous and the texture was delightful. N had a hard time though as the risotto had minced onions and she doesn’t like onions.

The Old Oven Cheesesteak Sandwich (PHP185) was huge! With homemade fries as its side dish, this meal is perfect for the hungry diners. Taste wise, it was your usual cheesesteak. But with the price, I’m sure people would not mind.

I’m so happy to discover this place. I will definitely be back for more risotto.

We won't be able to try this restaurant eventhough it's near our place if not for the suggestion of our friend. She suggested this as our meeting place and she said she just saw it here in looloo. We gave it a try since we love to explore new restos. The first thing we love here is the interiors. It's cozy, homey ambiance makes you feel like you're just hanging out with friends in your own home. There a lot of activities also like board games, adult coloring papers, mind/brain games that you and your friends can enjoy while chatting and waiting for the food. We also love their pastas. We ordered chicken parmigiana, I forgot the other one, and back ribs. We were also able to try their pomodoro as their looloo special. After eating the main course, we ordered peach and banana nutella almond crepes. We really love it here and decided to hang out here again next week. :D

I would not know this place if it were not to my younger brother who loves to explore new restaurants to try with his girlfriend.

Old Oven Art Cafe is located along White Plains. The signage of this place is a bit small and hard to notice.

Same as the signage, the place is also small but very homey. They have provided board games that customers can use while waiting for the food to be served. That is a plus for me because I love board games despite the modern technology.

Old Oven Art Cafe serves delectable sandwiches, pasta, and pizza. My favorite is their chicken wings. I am crazy with chicken but very meticulous at the same time. I don't like dark meat and I hate the reddish bloody thing if the chicken was not cooked well.

I ordered their Teriyaki Chicken Wings and it is good. No bloody thing. It is crispy, saucy, tasty, a little bit spicy and sweet.

Yes...i enjoyed it more with rice. I love rice and there is nothing that I love but eating chicken wings with rice.

Salpicao Rice was good but I wouldn't order it again because there was something a little off about it that I just can't put my finger on..

Caught up with one of my really good college friends here for lunch last Friday. I had a blast! The food was amazeballs as usual.

I loved the garlic cheese pizza and sausage mushroom risotto! I want some more right now! Huhu the only thing I was kind of disappointed with was the banana Nutella crepe. Huhu I remember it tasting better before... Although that was 2 years ago haha! But I couldn't even get myself to finish my half, I had my friend finish it all. I hope they do something about it. 128523

But overall, I always leave this place a happy customer. Ahhh love love love comfort food! 1008410084️ really one of the best! 128076

YES YES YES!!! They finally deliver to offices!!! I'm guessing just those nearby tho. And yay yay yay!!!! Cause our office is nearby! 1285221285229786

Anyway, yesterday, I had lunch here with my parents. I was originally going to order beef kebabs again but it wasn't available because apparently they've implemented a set menu for lunch meals each day of the week. So, I ended up getting beefsteak rice for mom and I and beef stroganoff for my dad. When the dishes arrived, I realized I was more in the mood for beef stroganoff 128514128514 so I exchanged with my dad. Hihi omg! Best beef stroganoff ever for only P90! It was so good, the meat was tender and at the same time chewy. 128523 I would have this everyday if I could but too bad it's only for their Monday menu huhu

And I gotta say that Old Oven has definitely earned a special place in my heart. 1008410084

++Serving time is improving! Good job Old Oven Art Cafe!

Okay you can hardly see the pieces of kebab in my photo because they were under the tomato and cucumber slices hehehe! Oops!

Anyway, I just found my number 1 affordable kebab!!! Sorry Uncle Moe's, you're just 2nd in line now. 128540

I swear when the kebab touched my tongue, I wanted to cry tears of joy! 128557128557 it was really good plus the dip! Just a little pricey at 70 for 2 not so big pieces of kebab and rice but it was okay because my whole being was super duper satisfied! 128076 or maybe the price is just sakto and I'm just on budget mode hehe!

Small cozy cafe but easy to miss... Best landmark is right in front of pan de amerikana white plains. I liked the cheesesteak sandwich. But the risotto and pasta are just so-so.

Finally! Old Oven Art Cafe is back and situated in a much easier location to find! It looks so much cozier and safer now. And they are now open for lunch! Hehe before kasi they were only open 3pm onwards.

Anyway, the food was good as usual. I had their mushroom truffle risotto and it was good but I wanted it more al dente, it seemed too soft na kasi. Hehe I haven't really tried other places for risotto, but so far, Black Olive is still the top contender. Also had the pizza margherita, something I always get when I'm here. Their pizzas are thin crust and you can tell they don't scrimp on their ingredients. For dessert, just grabbed some sweets in Crumsbslist. Visiting Old Oven Art Cate soon tho to have some crepes!!128076

Old Oven Art Cafe is a hoke in the wall restaurant. It's intimate and comfortable.

I have been here so many times already because they have delicious food. I have tried their sandwiches, pasta, and pizza and I didn't get disappointed.

Fili Cheesesteak Sandwich is a Filipino version of Philly Cheesesteak. They used hot pandesal and what tasted like Beef Tapa for the filling.

It's really good especially eating it with their herbed potato wedges.

Tried Old Oven Art Cafe (shew that was long) for the dinner. One has to really make an effort to go to the place and locate it on the 2nd floor. Ordered Volcano (P220), 3 Cheese Pizza (P250), Carbonara (P185), Mushroom Aglio (P175), Cheesesteak Rice (P160), Pumpkin Soup (P160), Carafe Lemonade (P130) and Glass Iced Tea (P45). The pizza was really tasty and bountiful. Pumpkin soup is equally good. One of the pastas were oily and while the other lacked a certain taste to make it memorable. Cheesesteak rice was a bit spicy the more you engulfed it (didn't state it was going to be hot). Rest of the food tasted ordinary. Despite the bell the service was still not as efficient and the orders arrival seemed lengthy. The ambiance was definitely noticeable and impressive. Games available can also keep you busy. Overall, the pizza and artwork are the only things worth coming back for.

Another place I forgot to review!128513

My roommate and I had another pig out date!128522 she needed to blow off steam after her tough oral exam.... I suggested this place, which is part of my must try list... My roommate trusts my restaurant choices (as do my other friends), she likes to just sit back and enjoy... So we drove all the way to the White Plains area, only to drive around more...128664 it was difficult to find this place, as I did not know that we should have been looking at the second floor... So, for future reference, it's in the 2nd floor of the building across Pan de Americana (which I forgot to review as well)... 128522

Anyway, parking was difficult, inclined and ver few spaces. We made our way upstairs and I immediately liked it!128077 the dining area was a very open space, sort of like a studio. It had a very rustic feel, with light colored woods everywhere... There was a lot of choices in terms of seating. And it's another one of those places with board games to entertain you while you wait for your food!127860127860127860

So anyway, we ordered the Old Oven nachos, the mushroom truffle pasta, and the Margherita pizza!127829127829127829 the nachos were so good, super cheesy!128077 the truffle pasta was okay, good choice... But our fave was the super thin crust Margherita pizza! Seriously, the crust was so thin that you can really taste the ingredients!128079 the tomatoes and basil were so fresh! Loved it!128077 I liked the feel of the place and the food... But, I suggest that you guys don't try the iced tea, which was watered down or something. 127865 plus, the service was kind of slow, so just be warned! But I liked the place overall!128077 put it on your must try list!128516

P.S. Affordable, about P250 per person!128522
