No other place I would rather spend my birthday dinner than here. The last time I was here with my family was 2 years ago and I have not stopped dreaming about the next time I'd be back for the Fresh Corned Beef and Toblerone Fondue. I swear I daydream about it a lot. Anyway, I was happy to have my boyfriend with the family for dinner this year. It was his first time here and so he kept asking me for suggestions for the dish he'd be having and I literally had no other dish to recommend but the corned beef and I was so glad he liked it. I can still imagine his reaction when he said masarap and good choice. Hehe I had the same dish of course. And I obviously loved it. The serving was bigger than I remember it being. I could tell because I was willing to share my mom some. Hahaha! But also maybe I just have a smaller appetite now.

My dad was disappointed they didn't have their other best seller the Gnagi, which is the Swiss equivalent of crispy pata or pork knuckle. For some reason they always don't have this dish when we're around... Sigh. (my reason for not giving a 5 star rating)

For my mom, she decided to pick the healthiest option, in her opinion, I think it was the Black Seabass. I didn't get to try it, but it seemed like she enjoyed it.

And for dessert we had Toblerone Milk Chocolate Fondue! It came with slices of apple, mangoes, and bananas, but I also wish it came with grapes. Mhmmm! And it also came with slices of pound cake and what seemed to be homemade marshmallows. I really enjoyed.

I really enjoy going back to classics like Old Swiss Inn. Gaaah one of the best feelings of delayed gratification I've had in awhile. :)

When our friend suggested this place, I was like, this might be expensive. But I did ask for a new resto for us to try. So here's my verdict.

Service was great. They immediately refill our bread and butter.

We were a group of 8. Friends since our high school days and love eating while chatting. We came up with the ff orders:

1 kilo prime ribs, comes with unlimited angus rice! It also comes with potatoes.

Platter of Sausages. I'm not a fan of sausages but theirs were not salty yet tasty. It comes with potato salad.

Spaghetti Bolognese. The serving was good for 2 pax. My husband finds it a little salty.

Best seller and highly recommended was their corned beef. You better taste it yourself! It's not d usual shredded meat and it looked more like sliced ham. I can't describe it. But I think I need to order this again to give my proper review128517

We also had 5 cups of coffee and a slice of cheesecake. Both perfect combinations and d cheesecake doesn't have d overpowering cheese flavor. Right saltiness and sweetness.

Total bill was P6767.

Best place for meet ups. 128077🏻

Its warm and welcoming atmosphere and delectable Swiss menu quickly won over the palate of the local crowd as well as the expatriates.

I, personally love the fact that their menu does not only showcase Swiss cuisine but it also includes several European dishes. For the cheese lovers, Old Swiss Inn offers you different varieties of Cheese Fondues to choose from. For starters, you can never go wrong with the 'Raclette' Cheese. It's melted Swiss Raclette cheese, served with baby potatoes, gherkins, and pearl onions. Definitely one of my favorites and a must-get if you go here.

For the meat lovers, their US Black Angus Prime Rib and Rack of Lamb do not disappoint. If you think these two are a bit too much for you, a good alternative would be their Signature Peppersteak Swiss Inn - Prime beef tenderloin, encrusted with cracked peppercorn and served with their famous green peppercorn sauce. It's comes with French fries and grilled vegetables on the side. The best part, it only costs Php625.00, a true value for money.

Other signature dishes and best sellers include the King Salmon, Black Seabass, Grilled Tiger Prawns, Sausage Platter and Gnagi (pork knuckles).

Old Swiss Inn has two branches, one in Somerset Olympia Building in Makati City and the other on the ground floor of Garden Plaza Hotel in Paco, Manila.

Cheers,
Mickey

Dismal, unappetizing breakfast buffet of bland roasted chicken, breaded dory, vegetables and maling (hindi man lang spam). Is this breakfast or last night's leftovers? On a Saturday. I would think they'd bring their A game on weekends. As it is, it's not worth even half of what I paid or the effort it would take to take a picture.

You disappoint me, Old Swiss Inn.

Open 24/7. Tried the daily breakfast buffet at 400 pesos which includes your breakfast buffet regulars like coffee, tea and juices. Food spread at time of visit: pork tocino, daing na bangus, chicken adobo, bread, butter and jam, fried eggs and omelette on demand, cereal and milk, pineapple yogurt, soup, vegetable roesti (delicious 128077), vegetable salad and fruits and some on demand vegetarian dishes like the mushroom and tofu.

Zurich Geschnetzeltes, not sure how to pronounce it, shredded beef with mushroom sauce and Swiss hashbrown. Service size is good for foreigners' appetite. But for me I tried to finish it and I felt really bloated. 128517 it tastes good, you can't really depend on my review cause I'm not a fan of steaks or anything like that. Haha

A nice, quiet place lunch, dinner and anytime you'd like some cheese, sausages and different kinds of Fondue... They're open 24 hours... I think! 128518

Old Swiss Inn is known for their fondues. I ordered the Waatlander (Swiss Cheese Fondue), Bourguignonne (Beef Fondue, and the Classic Toblerone Fondue for dessert.

I got a glass of white wine to accompany my orders. :)

It's a little bit pricey but I found it worth my money.

Old swiss inn is my favorite restaurant if I wanted to catch up with my colleagues & friends over great food during late night/very early morning (11pm to 5am). Wonderful ambience. Service could be a bit slow though during those hours128522

I received a huge corned beef slab as a gift. It was super yummy! 128525 I think 8 to 10 people could feast on the succulent meal. One can easily tell that it's made from freshest ingredients. The corned beef was so tender & evenly cured/seasoned. It's great on its own but even better with the sauce, cabbage & potatoes128076128522128156

If you like Swiss food, this restaurant is one of the 'institutions'. While restaurants in this area come and go, Old Swiss Inn, like the stability of anything Swiss, has withstood the test of times.

Unrefurbished ever since, and decorated simply with dark wooden furnitures, is part of its old world charm, like an old inn really in a 'cave' (cellar) in Switzerland. The only colorful decorations are the bantings of Swiss insignia or coat of arms on the ceilings.

They serve a wide range of Swiss dishes, mostly from the German side or Zurich.

We ordered the more famous Swiss fondues:

-Cheese fondue (bread cubes dipped in melted Gruyere and Emmenthal cheese).

-Beef burguignonne (beef tenderloin dipped in hot oil with carousel of sauces).

They were okay, and an enjoyable experience. But the cheese could have been more piquant or sharper in taste, and the beef was tender, but the sauces were nothing great.

Such a treat for our hungry tummies after a wonderful massage at our favorite Olympia Spa. The Caesar salad is big enough for 2 hungry people and Beef bourguignon fondue is also good enough for 2. Served with fries but if you prefer rice- you can ask for garlic rice instead. 128055

Retraining of their employees is a must!! After my initial bad experience, my friends convinced me to retry it again and this time, we would just order their fondues!

I'm a great fan of cheese, but their cheese fondue made me surrender. I prefer the sweet or sour cheeses and the European cheeses aren't my thing. So if you aren't a fan, best stay away from it.

We also tried their beef fondue. And, DO NOT TRUST the server when they say the beef is cooked within seconds! If you are a fan of rare meat, dip and go :) but if you prefer it to be cooked, leave it for a few minutes. The best quality beef are beef that you can leave it cooking for a long time and when you eat it, it's still tender. And guess what, their red is still tender after a fee minutes dip in the hot oil 128541128588
