Thanks to the Ayala Corporation, Repertory Philippines calls Onstage Greenbelt 1 their home for so many years now. I've been watching Rep Phil's productions for as long as I can remember and now it is my turn to share my love for theater to my nieces. This year's Theater for Young Audiences takes us to the world of Hansel and Gretel! magnificent set design will wow kids and parents alike - thanks to the inventiveness of Mio Infante. Bituin Escalante gives off a funny turn as the Witch who lure kids into her Gingerbread House. The cast was exceptional in their respective roles. Joy Virata directs. The theater is the perfect venue for learning and nurturing love for the arts!

Not so surprising, they were handing out Hansel biscuits to kids at the end of the show. Such a sweet treat. Must watch with the little ones.

Watched "Stepping Out The Musical" by Repertory Philippines here last April. It was like I was watching a live glee movie. The play was mostly singing and tap dancing. Sound system and lighting was ok where Teemee T and I were seated. No food and drinks allowed inside the theatre. Leg room of the seats were ok but just a bit difficult to get out as there is not enough space to pass through if someone is seated.

The Play: This got me interested due to its good reviews and wasn't disappointed. Good thing they had a 2nd run so I was able to watch it. I'm now a fan of the supervillains, Kayumanggilas. (Yes, i know, supervillains haha!) They've really put life to the whole musical with their catchy songs and pinoy humor lines. Also, the ending for me was quite unexpected. Let's support Philippine Theatre :) #KPANLL #LeadingLadyTheMusical #BInfinityXO

The Venue: This is my 2nd time watching a play here. I was seated at the lower right orchestra near the aisle. Based on my observation, sounds still need a bit improvement as it's not very clear on certain lines but mostly understandable. Foods and drinks are not allowed except for water. There is also no restroom inside, so you have to go out to pee. The area was clean. Lighting...well i just don't like the times when the lights are pointed towards the audience as it hurts the eyes a lot. But overall the experience was good and I'd still comback at OnStage, Greenbelt 1 to watch plays.

Watched Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady yesterday with April H and Dastine S! Yay for culture!

Sadly, I was not that impressed with the play. The storyline wasn't really cohesive for me, some parts were funny, but most parts were meh. I have to give props to Frenchie Dy though, she's really meant for the role! And that super villain was funny. See, can't even remember the names. Hahaha!

I think the venue added to my disappointment. It was hot, there was something wronA with their sound system, some lines were just inaudible. and as what Doc April H mentioned in her review, the ushers were kind of distracting because they keep approaching people to tell them they can't use their phones.

I don't think I would want to watch a play here again. I'll stick to PETA.

Watched Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady with Jenn N and Dastine S this afternoon... Because we be cultured like that... #sodingacultured

I thought the play was okay, but I had a real problem with the sound system... We could barely understand some of the lines of the cast... The sound alternated between loud and muffled, which really affected the play IMO...

What's worse is the ushers kept blocking our view of the stage when they called the attention of the people using their phones... It was very bothersome to be honest...

Plus it was really hot inside the theater!!!128544

Watched Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady with friends yesterday. The musical was good for a local production. But, the theater definitely affected the total performance. 128531

I've been to a lot of theaters because I've grown the love of musicals (kunwari cultured 128540) - a lot of CCP, Solaire, and PETA. I really disliked this theater primarily because of their audio system, especially because we were seated at the balcony section. I think the speakers are placed at the front, thus the sound that reached us was quite muffled already. We really had a hard time understanding what the cast were saying at first. Nasanay nalang kami. 128531128531 The theater is like a movie house, just a long rectangular inclined room. And it was poorly maintained, amoy luma sa loob. Sayang, we should've watched the musical while they were in PETA sana.

Watched Wait Until Dark by Repertory Phils.

Okay, this is not an ordinary play. It was my first time to watch a "thriller" play. Believe me, nagulat ako. =))

This is kinda underrated film but has a lot of potential. I hope my fellow loloo/ theatre lovers out there will watch this show. It is their last week! :)

Not an avid fan of plays. Cause most them are musical. And I get sleepy at times watching those kinds of play.

But not todaaaaay. Wait until dark was amazing. It was like watching pretty little liars, live. 5 stars!!!!!!! 128077127909128525

Alice in Wonderland!!!

Field trips? Talk about the perks of being a house wife with a pre-schooler!

Cherienne had her first field trip as a Nursery student weeks ago. They were to watch Alice in Wonderland, a musical, in GB1. Since she's allowed to bring one companion, I excitedly joined in! You see, I like watching plays and musicals in theaters. This was more than just a mommy duty for me, it was actually a treat.

The theater was small, having the same size as their cinemas, only that it had a stage. The stage was rather small too but was good enough for small productions. If you were seated on the first row, the actors were actually within an arms reach! Lol!

The theater was clean, sound system was good. The chairs were still fully functional with no obvious repair needs but IMO, the experience would have been better with better cushioned ones.

Anyway... The play was good, colorful and was meant for children. There were parts that engaged the eager little ones. I would say that Cherienne enjoyed watching!

I love this theater. Small enough to be intimate with the plays they show yet big enough not to feel pressured in paying attention (if you get bored - lol).

Just watched "No Way To Treat A Lady". 128077
