This cartel is part of the heritage park in Oslob. If you're around the area and waiting for a bus to take you back to the city, you might want to visit this. There's a nearby church and it's very unique and is a good example of heritage churches in the Philippines. The cartel itself was built to be used as barracks before but was not used. The remains are still there and the it's very picturesque.

I stayed at my childhood friend's house here in Oslob, so my accomodation is totally free! Not to mention that this is just a 5-10 minutes walk from their house. No entrance fees, you are free to enjoy it's architectural beauty, a bit of history and the nice sea breeze. This is just a few steps from the sea wall where you can sit, relax and enjoy the ocean view. There is also an old church beside it (sorry, I forgot the name).

Just a few meters away from the municipal hall and located near oslob church and baluarte (spanish for watch tower), you would appreciate the beauty of this structure made from coral stones that came from the remnants of the collapsed floor of the church bell tower. Named as Cuartel, a spanish word for barracks or headquarters.

Stunned. Yes, i get hooked seeing the beauty of the barracks under the sun. Thinking that there are still a must visit historical places that are rarely visited by the tourist. The place itself is very relaxing. They have a spot wherein you can sit in the bench and breath the fresh air while having the view of the sea. You can also visit oslob museum. The place is quite small but informative and the catch, no entrance fee. Very sulit 128077 you just have to write your name on the visitors logbook.

Going to oslob town takes you 2 1/2 to 3 hours from cebu city via bus from cebu south bus terminal. The fare for airconditioned bus is P150/person and the best travel time, early in the morning (if you want to catch up with the whale shark watching). Most travelers just spent a day tour but for you to see the beauty and other wonderful places that oslob has to offer and just to avoid the exhausted feeling, better yet book a cheaper room to stay 128522.

And for this review, I never thought that i'll unlocked my history geek badge hehehe.. yes! 128518 128077128588
