Oto, according to Erik their head barista, comes from the Japanese word meaning "Sound". A beautiful array of perfectlt organized vinyls are displayed at the far end of the coffee shop slash bar. The interiors are mostly wood. Love the chairs, tables and the pattern on the walls. Thisj instantly became one of my favorite places in Poblacion. Very sophisticated! (Wasn't able to see the place immediately as there was no signage. Lol.)

During our cupping session last Saturday, we got to try three different beans. My favorite is Intelligentsia's Kunga Maitu Kenya. It had a tea-like body with a little sweetness! Perfect with the peace and quiet vibe Oto provides early in the day at around 11am/12nn. Aside from Intelligentsia, they also have EDSA Beverage and Yardstick's beans.

I would love to come back at night just to see how different the vibe is. But I would probably visit every now and then to spend Saturday mornings drinking coffee while reading a book or uhm.. working. (Sorry, workaholic.)

Oto is located at 5880 Enriquez Street, Barangay Poblacion, Makati.

This place is also somewhat instagrammable for those who likes dark places.. i mean for more dramatic feels. Tucked inside barangay poblacion, this place got booze, coffee and listening room in one.

The Curator's owner and this one are one, meaning to say they get their coffee from edsa beverage.

No wonder why their beans is Dark Matter Theory. This one tastes a little bitter than Toby's Estate. I'd say I prefer this one, but i think a lot of you might prefer TE's. Latte art is good. May e they use the same milk too as the Curator's.

Like what I said, the place is likable not only for those who likes drk places, but also for those who like to listen to cool music. During my visit, they play mid 90s music (the cranberries, etc.)

I also think the alcoholic beverage price here is not cheap.
There's no wifi as of the moment. Parking is limited yo 2-3 spaces, it's adjacent to a hotel. Id suggest this place for pure chill-me-time mode. Not really advisable for working or catch-ups. There are a few power outlets.

My hunt for coffee shop around the metro continue and with the help of this article from a friend I found a new list of coffee shops that intrigue me.

1st on my list is Oto! Located in Poblacion area hidden in the small Enriquez St. It is actually a bar slash coffee shop. People who are somewhat artsy will fall in love with the amazing interior of this place. Love the stripe-fullness design of the place. Giving it a shadow like effect in the dim bar/coffee shop. Plus point the place got some awesome classic vinyl records being played.

For the coffee part they use the ever famous Dark Matter Theory beans by YKW Roaster. I enjoyed my well prepared latte. Good balance between milk and espresso with just the right amount of foam.

Downside the barista was not too friendly compared to other coffee place that I've been to.

Overall I love the interior and the coffee. Already planning to comeback next time during bar time to have some good chill alcohol while enjoying the lovely acoustic of the place.
