I have been curious about Outré for the longest time. Photos of the ice cream store's vandalized walls and the overflowing scoops of liquid nitrogen gelato made me drool like a St. Bernard. But its two branches are a bit too far from me and just thinking about the traffic makes me cringe. And so I made sure to include Outré as one of our stops when we went to Aguirre for a food crawl.

Hello, Outré!

The place was empty when we got there around 3:30 pm on a drizzling Sunday afternoon.

I quickly ordered the Milo Dinosaur Gelato (PHP160) while K went with Dulce de Leche Gelato (PHP150).

It was fun watching them prepare our gelato. The smoky/fog effect never fails to entertain me.

K’s order was served first and it was mouthwatering. The generous serving of gelato was already dripping by the time I finished taking photos of it. Taste-wise, it wasn’t as sweet as I thought. It had a nice milky caramel flavor and a very creamy texture. It was rich but not cloying. But if you are not too fond of sweets, the pretzels will help solve the problem.

My Milo Dinosaur was served next and it was chocolate overload! The Milo-flavored gelato was topped with Milo powder and a syringe with Milo syrup.

Despite the lack of colors, my order was quite photogenic. And it’s just not pretty, it was also delightful. It may be a chocoholic’s dream but it was surprisingly not as chocolatey as I anticipated. The taste, just like dulce de leche’s, was quite light. But if you have a monstrous sweet tooth, then you could drizzle some chocolate syrup on the gelato for additional taste.

Overall, I had a great time at Outré. I would love to be back if I get to visit Aguirre or Circuit Makati.

P.S. Check out Outré’s washroom. I find it so witty as it is named Confession Room. This room, which doubles as a washroom, is equipped with books and a confession notebook where you could jot down your darkest secrets.

We've visited Outré twice in the past 4 weeks. In those 2 visits, we ordered the same flavors: Milo Dinosaur, and Eat Me which is made of black treacle. Well, same orders only because in our second visit, servers said the other flavors weren't available. But a group who came after us got served Cookies and Cream. 128529 Anyway, both flavors were good. And it's always amusing to watch ice cream made with liquid nitrogen.

First time I was here was after my birthday lunch last month with Ruth D. We were with another friend and we tried Milo Dinosaur and Eat Me (Black Treacle Gelato). Enjoyed both, but unlike them, I prefer the latter more because of its sweet and salty goodness!

And last night, we were back. Same orders. We're supposed to try Smores, or Cookies & Cream instead of Eat Me, but the server said both were not available. Odd though because the girls seated next to our table, who came a little late than us, were served Cookies & Cream. Anyway, still felt the heavenly feel brought by these liquid nitrogen gelatos. Double happy because Chachi L and Miko loved these treats as well! 128522

Dessert Stop for our mini food crawl in BF Parañaque. I've been wanting to dry this ice cream place for a long time. Thanks to Ruth D and Lark C for letting me try it.

In the picture is the Milo Dinosaur which I liked very much. It really tastes like your everyday milo drink. The choco syrup adds up to chocolatey flavor. Another flavor that we tasted is the Eat Me --- Black Treacle something with Shortbread Biscuit. It's sweeter and a little bit sugary on the taste. Some other flavors are not available, so definitely coming back!

The ambiance of the place is free and easy. Not much design in the interior except for the blackboard vandals and the nitrogen tanks. The blackboard vandals were a hit especially for instagrammers since it gives a very cool vibe to your ice cream picture. I didn't miss an opportunity to take a pic as well haha!

Ordered the Dulce de Leche (Php150). I tried similar liquid nitrogen ice cream but this is probably one of the best so far.

It was creamy and not that sweet. The pretzel on top also complimented the as it gave it a little bit of saltiness to this creative piece of dessert.

The ambience is nice. They only accept cash for now but you won't regret coming here. I only hope they have more flavors since you won't really come back here every now and then for the same flavors.

Our official 5th stop (1st for desserts) of our BF #FoodTrip
We went to get our dessert fix.

Mary Love S wanted to try this place out as it got good reviews. This is the second liquid nitrogen ice cream / gelato store ever since my last visit to Cool Kids in Kapitolyo (sadly, that store has already closed)

Ambience: The place is very big.

Service: very quick delivery of the gelato.

Dessert: Milo Dinosaur (P160) it was okay. Serving size is commensurate to the price.

We visited the place on a Sunday afternoon, even when it's raining. The place wasn't packed, in fact we're the occupants of just a second table. We ordered their milo dinosaur and dulce de leche. After ordering, make sure you're ready to see smoke everywhere as they prepare your treats. Your orders wouldn't take long, it only took around 2-3 minutes for us. Upon claiming our desserts, of course we took photos. Well, why wouldn't you? With the presentation of the gelato and the ambiance of the place, instagramming everything is irresistible. Now down to the real deal, the taste. My sister liked the milo dinosaur more than the dulce de leche, but not me. I liked the taste of the latter more since it is different from the usual ice cream flavors available (and I thought of the milo dinosaur as just chocolate). The gelato was also thick, so it feels like you're eating more than just a cup (I had a hard time finishing it). There's no such thing as a sweater weather when it comes to this place's gelato - I'd want it anyway.

Since Bucky's and Outre share the same building, might as well eat here!!! Sulitin!!!

We were all still full from Mama Lou's and Bucky's so we decided to just share a single order of the Milo Dinosaur. And good thing we did because (same as my first experience here) there was nothing special and extraordinary with the taste. The idea was cool, yes. The process of doing this is really cool and entertaining. As in! We were all so happy with the nitrogen effect. 128514128541 But in terms of the taste, waley. 128517128530

The place is nice, cute and artsy, though. Cool artsy walls. Chill and relaxed setting and feels. But you just really go here for the experience. Lucky you if you liked and enjoyed the ice cream. Haha! 128514128513

Outré Manila (ooh-tray) - a French word synonymous to bizarre and rebellious, is the newest gelato shop that uses liquid nitrogen in its offerings. Outré is located in BF Homes, Parañaque City and recently, they opened their second branch located in Circuit Makati. Outré also have pasta, burgers and sandwiches, salad, beers, and etc. I haven't tried their food yet but I am planning to try it on my next visit.

Sometimes, the brightest ideas originates from the most youthful business visionaries. Neslly Bretaña is the lone mastermind of Outré Manila and she is also a chef.

I was with my friends when it was my first time to try it and If you didn't know, I live in Makati and yes, I went there to South to pig out with my friends (who also lives in South) and we also tried The Burgery which is just near Outré.

The flavor that I ordered was called "Cookie Monster" - bubble gum hued vanilla based dessert with heavy measure of sprinkles. Exceptionally fundamental taste yet has particular composition. While my friends got "Berry Jealous", "Milo Dinosaur" - comes posing a flavor like such a large amount of your childhood, and the syringe brimming with syrup is over-the-top yet essential fun and lastly, "Dulce de Leche." The consistency of the ice cream was rich and smooth and packed with flavours.

I really liked the vibe of Outré in BF; I'm not sure if they have the same exact interiors in their Makati branch. It is a pleasant spot to hangout and simply chill on a lethargic afternoon. Outré’s funky spirit is reflected in the shop’s interiors. The walls have fun stickers and graffiti-friendly. When you're bored and you simply need to eat something great and sweet, visit this spot! You will love it. They have very reasonable price for their ice cream (P150)

Every month, Outré creates new ice cream flavors, utilizing the tried-and-tested Nitrogen method, which we have only seen from Kool Kids and The Iscreamist up in Maginhawa St. in Quezon City.

Had some spontaneous nitrogen-infused fun in the south. Been wanting to try this for a very long time with all the hype on instagram. The gelato is priced at Php 160 per cup. If you think that's pricey for a cup of ice cream, well so is everything on the menu.

I was quite disappointed with the very few selection of flavors but at least they have my favorite. I got cookies and cream which was very milky and creamy. My boyfriend had dulce de leche with the pretzel on top. Dulce de leche was good but too sweet in our opinion. We loved the consistency though a cup was probably too much for me since naumay ako after. 128539

I have been wanting to go to this place to try their Nitrogen-infused ice creams.

This night was the night. Yes!
My "squad" went to Outré to satisfy our cravings for ice cream.

The place is good, i like the 'industrial' design.
The menu is so-so. I was disappointed when I found out that they only have 5 flavors of ice creams. Like, really? That's it?

Anyhow, We enjoyed our orders. Over-all experience is good since the place is comfy and the staff is quite nice. I hope they'll provide more flavors / choices.

Outré is good, but Creamistry (a Liquid Nitrogen ice cream shop in Cali) is still the bomb.

Late late late review. I dug up this collage i made on my phone sometime last year.

The pasta, sandwiches (sangers), and starters are alright. Nothing too special for me but not terrible either. Had the 6 hour beef ragu fetuccine, truffled polenta chips, and the pulled pork with kilpatrick sauce and massimo slaw sanger. A sanger is Ozzie slang for a sandwich haha. 128522 Was told that their cuisine is inspired by the food found in Western 'Straya.

But what i really come back here for, and apparently almost everyone else, is 1.) The ambience, and 2.) The hand crafted liquid nitrogen gelato! The place is very instagram worthy with a sort of industrial look and feel, and more often than not you'd see people take pictures by the graffiti walls. And seeing them make the gelato is a sight to behold. I admit the novelty gets you hooked. From extracting the nitrogen from their tanks, to mixing it into their gelato concotions, and then putting everything together in one neat arrangement.

They do have a revolving set of gelato flavors that they switch up from time to time, but my favorite would be the milo dinosaur. Milo gelato topped with milo powder and a syringe filled with milo syrup to inject all that milo goodness!

Ordered Dulce de Leche and Potato wedges for our snack. We find the dulce the leche too sweet but still it was pretty good ; potato wedges was really delicious together with its cream cheese topping. When it comes to accommodation, it's super spacious, air conditioned the whole time and is instagram worthy (because of their wall of handwritten chalk graffiti).

We had the following gelato flavors: Bye Felicia, Dulce de Leche and Milo Dinosaur. They were all good but I wasn't very much impressed. I enjoyed Dulce de Leche the most.

I like the vibe of this place. Servers were very friendly. Maybe we'll try their savory dishes next time128522

I know above picture is of their 6-Hour Beef Ragu Fettuccine, but what i really wnag to highlight is their gelato. For 160pesos, you get a cup of thick thick thick gelato, of your own choice of flavor. We had the Berry Jealous, which is blueberry gelato + chocolate soil. And it's thick! As in. I feel full finishing their medium (/two scoops, as per Gellatisimo's size) cup. Next, we may try the Milo version. (When they say syringe, the cup does have a syringe).

Pasta and burgers were a bit plain. A bit disappointing when you order the Outrè burger.

Ordered Outre Burger and Berry Jealous. Burger is okay, although slightly more pricey relative to other burgers from fast food chains and hole in the walls. Patty is medium-rare, making it juicier. Bun though, is a bit stale. Fries are also availble as side for the burger - 'twas crispy when served. 128077🏻
Berry jealous is thick, can really be considered a gelato. Not too sweet, and blueberry flavor does not taste like a medicine (score for Outre!).
From this visit, I'd say that Outre is not exceptional but not a bad place to eat either. Deserves a three star rating out of five.
