A year has passed and the Pablo hype died in silence. Truth be told there was not enough noise made when the BGC branch opened. The mixed reviews is the culprit. Some reviews are neutral while there are some that are downright nasty.

Note: I tried some of their tarts and it is not as atrocious as it was depicted.

I’ve been itching to try their matcha soft serve for the longest time. What’s funny is that my desire faded as the days pass by.

The ice cream is phenomenal! The texture is thick and creamy, i can tell that the ice cream is churned to perfection. It is not as matchariffic as i hoped for but i ain’t complaining.... as long as there is a slightest hint of favourite green substance and i am a happy camper.

Easy five stars huh? I hate to break it to you but it is less than that.

Let us talk about the awful service shall we?

There were two customers when i arrived. One was waiting and the other one was in line. They are not understaffed - one was manning the counter, one was in charge of packing, one was outside attending to customers and there are two more.

I don’t understand why no one was lifting a muscle to dispense my ice cream???? The other customers got their orders and i was the only one left. I was standing in front of the receiving window and the chick was not doing anything....even the one who took my order. What in the bloody hell???

Nope, not all of them are inefficient. There is one who actually took the time and assisted me. This is the other staff posted outside. It took a while before she approached me as she was clearing tables.

10 minutes wait time for an ice cream cone. You have got to be kidding me, Pablo.

All it took is 10 minutes wait time for a foodie who believes in your product to give a negative review.

Get your act together.

I wasn’t able to try this when I visited Japan and I regretted it ever since. So after my meeting I really made an effort to pass by and buy a tart or two.

I ordered:
Mini Cheese Tart (Php 100) it was fresh from the oven and I enjoyed the gooey texture but taste wise it wasn’t as cheesy.
Mini Matcha Tart (Php 125) it wasn’t as warm and it was a bit bland.

Visually it was enticing but I was disappointed with the taste. Plus was pricey.

Lava and Kumori pa rin!

So whenever i walk past this place of bonifacio high street im always tempted to grab a cheese tart or even their milkshake or softee but i cringe when all of their items are pricier compare to other counterparts like lava cheesetart, nearby gelato and milkshake shop. But opportunity pops in today as its their anniversary of buy 1 regular cheesecake and take 1 as well, it was good that ive come here on a late afternoon as they have a 1 hour plus waiting queue, good thing i can pick it up on the same evening as my office is at bgc as well, whew almost thought of dropping off here before i went home and good thing i didnt. Lol.

So ive been used to the restaurants with international brandname particularly the japanese chain that fail to live up or rather taste really different from their original counterpart and none of those are as bad as this one, sorry it really was. First the price here is p30 to p80 more expensive than one at japan and i cant understand why... Second, it would be unfair to describe that pablo at japan was so good not to mention why... hmm. The crust are not flakey but seems to goes of when i took a bite without being too chewey, the filling itself was creamy yet full bodied that you can actually feel its weight, texture and seems like a blend of cream and cheesecake... and it smells really good.

I already tried pablo here 3 times including this one and sadly im disappointed, for this one the crust was too chewy, and the filling in middle was the really sad part, it just looks and taste like starbucks whipped cream, all of us agreed that tous le jours cake was much awesome than this one. Just sad that the filling was really that bad, its texture was like of those frap whipped cream without any much of flavor. :( i dont think it will be more thicker when stored at ref which we thought of doing but decided not to.

The only thing that overpowering was the citrus gelatine like on top.

Sad but i hope they improve. Giving this 3 stars (this should be 2 only) coz of its buy 1 take 1 but this was their opportunity but to... 128529 oh well...

Not sure if it was the weather, but it melted really fast. Paid php125 for this one. Hmm.. not so yammy. It was like eating cottage cheese in ice cream form.

The green tea mini cheesecake was so, so good and delicate and just the right size to satisfy one person's dessert cravings! Pricey but it is so well made and I feel like it is worth the splurge once in a while. 1278749749

Cheese Soft Serve Ice Cream.

Was very promising. My cup was a full and the ice cream was tall. It was immaculately white, had a nice softee consistency, with a swirl that was very pretty to look at.

You have a choice of getting it in a cup or cone, and since I take my time eating ice cream, I opted for the cup.

I wish I tried this before eating Lava's. Because this one paled in comparison. Lava's was mild, this was even milder. The cheese flavor was lacking for me and my son didn't like the powdered milk taste. I tasted the cheese more when I ate it slightly melted.

Overall ok. But Lava.

Btw, got 2 dozen original tarts too. They looked like they had less filling and the crust was toasted ☹️ We always buy their tarts so I know this was not baked to standard.

Cheese flavored soft sundae cone 127846 - yes, Pablo serves them as well! 🤗

Christina R mentioned in her review for Lava's 127846 and that Pablo also has their own. 128522 For a scoop it costs about 125php in cone.

Texture was smooth and creamy but McDo's sundae would still be the creamiest and smooth in texture for me 127846128522 Flavor was okay pero parang bitin yung cheese flavor, every lick parang nsa dulo ng dila ko un cheese 128517 It reminded me of the cheese milk tea at the once-opened-Timog-branch-Green-Coffee.

Would I buy on a second time? 当然 Definitely! 128077🏻128521

Finally tried last April 2 Sunday morning Japan's most popular freshly baked cheese tart here in Manila located at Bonifacio Global City.

So happy to see Pablo mini, I ordered Pablo mini cheese tart plain and Pablo mini cheese tart Choco. Both are good but I must admit that for this mini cheese tart it's quite pricey.

Saw they have frappes there and wanna try it next visit.

Not bad for a try 128077

Brought to us to by Suyen group, Pablo from Japan opened their second store this year in buzzing strip, Bonifacio High Street after a successful run in Robinson's Place Manila. I was there on its initial weekend and unfortunately only got to try their canned and packed goodies.

I was ecstatic to finally get my palate filled with this world famous tarts. It was a Good Friday when I had all four of their varieties, it was indeed a good day. Its overall taste is uncanny of general Filipino tastebud preference, its not sugary at all. One of the main reasons why I loved it.

The original cheese, the one that launched thousands of ships was by far the best choice. Likely mostly Mascarpone cheese based, it was prepared medium rare (in Japan can be done in other ways), and for me was the perfect form to bring out its gooey consistency. Its crust crumbles easily and that's always a good sign, right? It's a sensitive dessert to hold, so please handle it with TLC.

Chocolate tart was my next favorite. On top of me being a chocolate fanatic, I appreciate that it wasn't too sweet but rather bittersweet as it had a nice bold dark chocolate vibe to it.

Matcha as expected was real. It's not your commercial type that's seemingly fake. Their concoction creates a lingering after taste of bold green tea. It's like eating creamy tea I tell you.

The newest one, Mini Roasted Marshmallow Strawberry Cheese Tart, was my least preferred pick. I found it still satisfying especially with its pistachio bits on top. The downside of this tart was its artificial strawberry taste, it wasn't authentic to say the least.

Pablo packaging its tarts to mini is a genius choice. At Php 100 for original and Php 125 for its more complex flavors, it's definitely value for our peso. This innovation also allows you and me to try multiple types without breaking our wallet. No need to go Japan to have it too!

No line at Pablo! My mom was curious about it and thanks to her senior discount, we got the cheese tart for only 77 I think and the chocolate tart at 87 128077🏼
I was able to try Pablo in Korea and I didn't like it that much but this one tastes better? Mas masarap ba pag maliit? Or we might've ordered the wrong thing there lol
Anyways, we loved the flaky and yummy crust. The cheese had just the right sharpness to it. The chocolate one was quite smooth and not to sweet which is great 128522
Will definitely try it again when I'm in the area!

I was able to try the mini matcha last February. I liked it. As with most matcha desserts available in the metro, I would still like more matcha flavor sana. But it's a good try. I will probably order the original na Lang next time. I'm pretty happy with it.

My daughter likes Pablo. We usually get a mini original for her every time she sees this store.

Finally the hype on Pablo have ended. No more long line. For me this is still the best among the cheesetart currently here in Manila. I love it fresh from the oven with oozing cheese or on a room temp with a more compact filling. Presentation-wise its the best. Love the burnt mark of its cheese and lovely packaging. Tastewise it got a bit of sweet flavor compared to the other tarts but I love it. Pricewise it was among the most expensive. Their matcha version was good but I didn't like their strawberry mallows it was a bit pabebe haha..

Oh man, I didn't like the regular cheesecake.

Against my better judgement, I still wanted to try this even if I've been told the regular size is not as good as the mini. Filling is like a panna cotta. Ok naman. But the crust 128534 didn't like it. Sana they used the same crust as the mini na lang. Taste and texture reminded me of cheap buko pie.

I'll just stick to the minis, which I really like.

This cheese tart. It hyped so much during their opening, but disappointed a lot of reviewers. But when they launched their minis, the game became more exciting. People do find pablo minis to be better than the bigger size.

But what is pablo's strength? Pablo's presentation is really really good. Their boxes are high class, the size compared to other tarts looks a tad better, the color, so delicious and tempting. It's aroma is also good, actually, better than lava. Their crust is a little sweeter though, the crust is near to comparison with lava. But at some area may soft parts sa bottom.

The filling inside is cheesy and thick, which i really like.
Hope they make more improvements as to how the cheese would really taste cheese and less sweet.

After several attempts to buy their newest mini cheese tart, I finally succeeded last week.

I dragged my friends to Pablo after our lunch at Pound by Todd English. There's no long queue during lunch time! I asked first the lady who is manning the counter if the Rosted Marshmallow Strawberry Cheese Tart is available. Luckily, she said yes! Yipeeeee! 128069 I had one order of this and I liked it. The strawberry was a bit sour but it really went well with the cheesecake. I'm not a fan of mallows but I actually liked this one.

I also tried their mini Matcha Cheese Tart. It was bitter and sweet at the same time. The matcha taste was there but not kicking.

P.S. I'm still curious to try their premium cheesecake. However among their minis, I still prefer the original one.

Thank god for blessing me with so much value of patience! 128519🤣 I'm proud to say that bec of the many, many mixed reviews of Pablo, I kept distance and waited enough for them to get their sh*t together to give me a good piece of tart. So been here twice, tried the strawberry tart this time & darling they haven't failed me at all. The Original and all the other flavors have kept me happy so far and I'm just thankful they're around to give me my Japanese cheese tart fix anytime! 128523128523128523

Cheese Tart v2. Velvety smooth yummy cheese tart. 128525

Following my cheesetart fail at SM Aura, I decided to try Pablothis time. It's a tad more expensive @100php.

This tart did not crumble and I got to eat every loving bit of it!

The Php100 is worth it but I think I'll try this once in a while so I keep its novelty a tad longer.
