550 pesos for a box of six, Pablo's cheese tarts remind me of BAKE from Japan. Only big difference would be the crust, this one's harder than the other. This is also more expensive at around 90 for each piece! 128523

Also recommending their Matcha Cheese Tarts (the big ones). Mini version not available yet.

Two days before Christmas one of my "kids" at work saw me in the locker area and told me, Chyn I have something for you. I said, is it Kitkat matcha bites? She didn't answer, instead she hand me the paper bag of Pablo. I was super delighted as I have been wanting to try their cheese tart, but because it's far I put it on hold. Was actually planning to get one in BGC actually before this. 128522

When I had my first bite, it was just okay, but after 2 or 3 bites, wow it's yummy! I am an avid cheese fan so it's a delight for me. 🧀

Thank you, Nica, for this yummy box of happiness! 10084

Decided to eat at Tim Ho Wan at Robinson's Place Manila and was super excited to see the Pablo counter. It was a lazy afternoon and there was NO LINE. I decided it was meant to be.

In truth, the Cheesecake (in the original flavor) was really good, but it is NOT the Cheesecake I expected. The consistency was more like a very airy pannacotta, almost soufflé-like, the taste was very subtle, barely sweet, with a hint of lemon, the crust was a very fine pastry. I really liked it because it was very refined with obviously first class ingredients, but I'm not a fan of the lemony taste. (I'm also the type who doesn't like Leche flan with dayap.)

What turned the tables for me though was the MATCHA CHEESECAKE SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM.

HOLY KAMOTE.

This is LIFE CHANGING. The consistency was super smooth but dense, you can taste the MATCHA, the Cheesecake and the ice cream in such incredibly balanced proportions that you will simply be AMAZED. The P150 cone is totally WORTH IT.

I. WANT. ONE. NOW.

Sorry for my 2 stars rate. But I am just being honest. That for a price of 599php? I was expecting it was gooey or somehow tasted more of cheese. But when we got to taste it, especially me? I was disappointed. Because what I expect was not what I got. Overrated. 128575128531128549

Overrated. For me the taste is bland and lacking of melt in your mouth feeling. This is the dessert that i don't want to taste anymore, not worth my money.

When I hear of egg tart, my mind goes "wow! That should be good, it is good, egg tarts in HongKong are so damn good!". Lord Stow's lives up to that egg tart expectation and I keep on buying their egg tarts whenever I have the chance..

So, here we have Cheese Egg Tart from Pablo, sounded delightful, appetizing, enticing.. in short, it sounded delicious (haha). However, before I got the chance to see and taste it, I already have received and read sad reviews about it. According to the reviews, the taste was not bad but was not good either; it was just OK. The ratings here in Looloo is 3.5. Sayang, it looks good pa man din sa picture.. But I said to myself, I would still try it for the sake of tasting it when I get the chance (kapag may nadaanan na store at maiksi ang pila).

Anyway, on to my actual experience.. My friend and I decided to check this branch, there was no queue at all at 1230pm, so we ordered the classic, one Cheese Egg Tart for P599 (I didn't know that it was that expensive given its size128561). We got excited because it looks and smells good. 128512 then we tasted it after eating lunch.. Ugh whatta disappointment. 128563128553128546 Binaba ko na nga expectations ko, hindi pa rin umabot. Sayang P400 kasi willing lang ako bilhin yun for P200-250 haha. I didn't find the Cheese in it, it was just creamy, milky, light, almost flavorless, the crust was flakey and too plain. The taste was forgettable. But atleast it was OK. It didn't taste bad that I was disgusted or what. But, I would not buy it anytime soon again and would not recommend it to my friends. So sad this Cheese Egg Tart. ☹️

Japan's best gooey cheese tart! Surprisingly, there's no long queue! I ordered freshly baked cheese tart for 599 and freshly baked matcha cheese tart for 699. They have promo.. Buy 2 cheese tarts and get 200 pesos discount(didn't get when promo will end).

Freshly baked cheese tart = 110881108811088
Freshly baked matcha cheese tart = 11088110881108811088

Someone told me, PH price was expensive. We only have 1 size here. Japan have mini version for 1 to 2 pax. Then you can choose if rare or medium rare(how gooey your cheese tart).

Freshly baked cheese tart didn't meet my expectations but still.. I will try chocolate cheese tart next time.

After eating lunch, I decided that I wanted to try Pablo, since I saw that there was no line anymore, even though it was a Saturday.

Since I was disappointed with their cheesetart (back in September, courtesy of a friend), I thought I wouldn't try it again anytime soon. What I really wanted to try this time is their soft serve.

The taste was okay. You can taste a little of the cheese (thank God) in the ice cream, but aside from that, it's just a plain and overpriced ice cream. It was okay, but definitely not worth P150.

Finally got to tried the super hyped Pablo's Cheesecake! It was definitely overhyped. I can't imagine myself lining up for this 128514 Good thing sister dropped by the mall and saw NO line and bought one home. Horaaay! 127882

On to the review ⬇️
Although it was overhyped, I must say this is a good cheesecake. The cheesecake itself is super soft and dances in your mouth when you bite into it. The filling had an airy and custard like texture which made it feel so light. It had the right balance of tanginess and sweetness too. The crust was not your ordinary cheesecake crust because this one was similar to a croissant - flakey and buttery. And the thing is, it went very well with their soft filling. Also, the flavor is great and the smell - oh, it smells amazing. It had a sweet scent of pineapple and mango mixed together. 128524 Anyhow, for me, it's the perfect light dessert to cleanse your palate after a heavy meal 128077🏻

But to be honest, it's a bit too expensive for a tiny-sized cheesecake. Maybe if it was at least a hundred fifty bucks cheaper I'd consider consuming this on a monthly basis. Also, when we got home, we immediately tasted the cheesecake. It was weird at first because of the temperature (room temperature) but after refrigerating it and tasting it again, it was good. So it's either you eat it warm (freshly baked) or cold only, nothing in between. I heard that it tastes better when freshly baked but it's been 3 hours before we got taste it.

P. S. The cheesecake was destroyed while we drove through the traffic home 128514128678

The best way to describe Pablo's Cheese Tart is "a very expensive egg tart" (similar to that of Lord Stowe's but at 599 pesos each) - super creamy cheese pudding in a crispy, flaky crust with a mango glaze.

If you must try these cheese tarts, I suggest you bring a senior parent/friend since they have a dedicated lane for them. Another option is to line up first thing in the morning (they open at 10am). They only allow 2 cheese tarts per person and the original lasts for 2 days if kept chilled.

Tried this in Osaka twice in their dine in outlet in dohtonbori and take out counter in nankai namba station. No difference in the quality except that here in Manila you can only have the medium rare consistency of this cheesetart. In Osaka when you dine its a default rare consistency for your cheesetart and its lovely to see your cheesetart ooze on slice.

First Saturday of its opening week, waited in line for three long hours to order one, and half an hour to get it.

The cheese tart is too gooey for me, good thing I have a friend to share it with. Medyo umay. The mango-tasting glaze did not compliment the tart in any way, that we first scrape and ate it first. Wrong move, cause we realized in the end na sya siguro yung pantanggal umay.

Will I have it again? Sure. Will I wait in line again? No.

Lastly, it is too pricey for me at Php 599. Even the other goodies were on the pricey side.

Too much hype. The taste did not well deliver for me.
But then again, iba-iba tayo ng taste 128521128522

Went again today.. queued for an hour, paid P599 for the cheese tart, and waited for 45 minutes to get it. It was good but I don't think it's worth lining up for or The Philippine price tag. I'm hoping it will be better tomorrow like most baked goods. The regular cheese tart's saving grace for me was its apricot glaze and the croissant-like crust.

I also bought the ff:

Iced matcha latte - 1008410084100841008410084 very good, not watered down

Black sabrel cheese - 1008410084100841008410084 my favorite but so expensive at P499 for 9 tiny cookies 128557.

Golden brulee pudding - 100841008410084 good like a lighter version of our leche flan

I wanted to buy their soft served but got discouraged when I saw how tiny it was. P150 for that??? Mag-Lawson na lang ako.
