Sorry for my 2 stars rate. But I am just being honest. That for a price of 599php? I was expecting it was gooey or somehow tasted more of cheese. But when we got to taste it, especially me? I was disappointed. Because what I expect was not what I got. Overrated. 128575128531128549

Overrated. For me the taste is bland and lacking of melt in your mouth feeling. This is the dessert that i don't want to taste anymore, not worth my money.

When I hear of egg tart, my mind goes "wow! That should be good, it is good, egg tarts in HongKong are so damn good!". Lord Stow's lives up to that egg tart expectation and I keep on buying their egg tarts whenever I have the chance..

So, here we have Cheese Egg Tart from Pablo, sounded delightful, appetizing, enticing.. in short, it sounded delicious (haha). However, before I got the chance to see and taste it, I already have received and read sad reviews about it. According to the reviews, the taste was not bad but was not good either; it was just OK. The ratings here in Looloo is 3.5. Sayang, it looks good pa man din sa picture.. But I said to myself, I would still try it for the sake of tasting it when I get the chance (kapag may nadaanan na store at maiksi ang pila).

Anyway, on to my actual experience.. My friend and I decided to check this branch, there was no queue at all at 1230pm, so we ordered the classic, one Cheese Egg Tart for P599 (I didn't know that it was that expensive given its size128561). We got excited because it looks and smells good. 128512 then we tasted it after eating lunch.. Ugh whatta disappointment. 128563128553128546 Binaba ko na nga expectations ko, hindi pa rin umabot. Sayang P400 kasi willing lang ako bilhin yun for P200-250 haha. I didn't find the Cheese in it, it was just creamy, milky, light, almost flavorless, the crust was flakey and too plain. The taste was forgettable. But atleast it was OK. It didn't taste bad that I was disgusted or what. But, I would not buy it anytime soon again and would not recommend it to my friends. So sad this Cheese Egg Tart. ☹️

Japan's best gooey cheese tart! Surprisingly, there's no long queue! I ordered freshly baked cheese tart for 599 and freshly baked matcha cheese tart for 699. They have promo.. Buy 2 cheese tarts and get 200 pesos discount(didn't get when promo will end).

Freshly baked cheese tart = 110881108811088
Freshly baked matcha cheese tart = 11088110881108811088

Someone told me, PH price was expensive. We only have 1 size here. Japan have mini version for 1 to 2 pax. Then you can choose if rare or medium rare(how gooey your cheese tart).

Freshly baked cheese tart didn't meet my expectations but still.. I will try chocolate cheese tart next time.

After eating lunch, I decided that I wanted to try Pablo, since I saw that there was no line anymore, even though it was a Saturday.

Since I was disappointed with their cheesetart (back in September, courtesy of a friend), I thought I wouldn't try it again anytime soon. What I really wanted to try this time is their soft serve.

The taste was okay. You can taste a little of the cheese (thank God) in the ice cream, but aside from that, it's just a plain and overpriced ice cream. It was okay, but definitely not worth P150.

Finally got to tried the super hyped Pablo's Cheesecake! It was definitely overhyped. I can't imagine myself lining up for this 128514 Good thing sister dropped by the mall and saw NO line and bought one home. Horaaay! 127882

On to the review ⬇️
Although it was overhyped, I must say this is a good cheesecake. The cheesecake itself is super soft and dances in your mouth when you bite into it. The filling had an airy and custard like texture which made it feel so light. It had the right balance of tanginess and sweetness too. The crust was not your ordinary cheesecake crust because this one was similar to a croissant - flakey and buttery. And the thing is, it went very well with their soft filling. Also, the flavor is great and the smell - oh, it smells amazing. It had a sweet scent of pineapple and mango mixed together. 128524 Anyhow, for me, it's the perfect light dessert to cleanse your palate after a heavy meal 128077🏻

But to be honest, it's a bit too expensive for a tiny-sized cheesecake. Maybe if it was at least a hundred fifty bucks cheaper I'd consider consuming this on a monthly basis. Also, when we got home, we immediately tasted the cheesecake. It was weird at first because of the temperature (room temperature) but after refrigerating it and tasting it again, it was good. So it's either you eat it warm (freshly baked) or cold only, nothing in between. I heard that it tastes better when freshly baked but it's been 3 hours before we got taste it.

P. S. The cheesecake was destroyed while we drove through the traffic home 128514128678

The best way to describe Pablo's Cheese Tart is "a very expensive egg tart" (similar to that of Lord Stowe's but at 599 pesos each) - super creamy cheese pudding in a crispy, flaky crust with a mango glaze.

If you must try these cheese tarts, I suggest you bring a senior parent/friend since they have a dedicated lane for them. Another option is to line up first thing in the morning (they open at 10am). They only allow 2 cheese tarts per person and the original lasts for 2 days if kept chilled.

Tried this in Osaka twice in their dine in outlet in dohtonbori and take out counter in nankai namba station. No difference in the quality except that here in Manila you can only have the medium rare consistency of this cheesetart. In Osaka when you dine its a default rare consistency for your cheesetart and its lovely to see your cheesetart ooze on slice.

First Saturday of its opening week, waited in line for three long hours to order one, and half an hour to get it.

The cheese tart is too gooey for me, good thing I have a friend to share it with. Medyo umay. The mango-tasting glaze did not compliment the tart in any way, that we first scrape and ate it first. Wrong move, cause we realized in the end na sya siguro yung pantanggal umay.

Will I have it again? Sure. Will I wait in line again? No.

Lastly, it is too pricey for me at Php 599. Even the other goodies were on the pricey side.

Too much hype. The taste did not well deliver for me.
But then again, iba-iba tayo ng taste 128521128522

Went again today.. queued for an hour, paid P599 for the cheese tart, and waited for 45 minutes to get it. It was good but I don't think it's worth lining up for or The Philippine price tag. I'm hoping it will be better tomorrow like most baked goods. The regular cheese tart's saving grace for me was its apricot glaze and the croissant-like crust.

I also bought the ff:

Iced matcha latte - 1008410084100841008410084 very good, not watered down

Black sabrel cheese - 1008410084100841008410084 my favorite but so expensive at P499 for 9 tiny cookies 128557.

Golden brulee pudding - 100841008410084 good like a lighter version of our leche flan

I wanted to buy their soft served but got discouraged when I saw how tiny it was. P150 for that???

So ung 1hr napagiikot namin nakuha na namin ung inorder namin. 128522128079🏻

This is it!

Iloveyou! 10084

Hello looloo! It's nice to be back 128521

I've waited for months for Pablo to open, and now it's finally here!! Good thing I didn't line up for hours just to have a bite of this gooey cheesecake.128513

Of course, Matcha will always be my first choice, when I got the cheesecake I took some quick photos and decided to have a bite.

After eating up the whole cheese tart I realized that I was not satisfied with it. I suppose the overrated reviews are to blame here,128517 it makes someone like me expect the cheese tart to be extremely good, when in fact, it wasn't. The taste of matcha was good and it was just the right amount of taste, the cheese, on the other hand, didn't go quite well with the whole tart. It was too soft for me that looked like melted cheese, thus making it hard to chew properly.

A good tip to avoid this: maybe you can store in ref for hours before tasting it, I think it will be better.

I'll just try this once again and probably will try the original one in Osaka when I get the chance to.

Osaka's best cheese tart looks good and smells good but didn't meet my expectation when it comes to flavor and texture. I bought just the hype, it was a P600 letdown.

Pablo Cheese Tart teased Filipinos about it's opening date for more than a year. The first time I saw it's tarp in Rob Place Manila was back in 2014 and I thought that it'll open in a couple of months. But I was wrong! Two years later, Pablo has FINALLY opened it's first branch in the Philippines! Located in Robinson's Place Manila, my favorite mall, G/F Pedro Gil wing.

We were in Robinson's Place Manila on Sunday, just four days after the grand opening. I have seen news of long lines, cut-off times and even one tart per person policy. When we got there, the line was indeed crazy long!
You need to queue for about an hour, get transferred to the final line and wait for another good 10 minutes then buy your tart plus extras like biscuits, pudding, drinks or soft-serve ice cream if you wish. If you think that's the end of it, wait until the cashier asks you if you are willing to wait for an hour before you can get your order because they have a long queue to fill-up! Are you going to wait for another hour? lol

I was planning to get the Cheese Tart, the Matcha Cheese Tart and the Premium Cheese Tart but when we went, it was around 5-6PM then, they only had the Cheese Tart available! I was also eyeing their Cheese and Matcha Soft-Serve Ice Cream but it was sold out as well. So, I settled for the following --

> Cheese Tart for 599Php

I've read countless times that in Japan, these Cheese Tarts come in two "doneness" - rare (gooey and creamy) and medium (a firmer version) - but here, they're only serving medium. The Cheese Tart smelled incredible and will perk up your curiosity when you pass by the store. When I got mine, I opened the box right away and was so giddy to try the "BEST CHEESE TART IN THE WORLD!" I took a slice and watched as the cheese broke free from the firm but soft crust! It looked so creamy, gooey and cheesy. It was wobbly and fluid but it didn't really spill into a mess like when you cut a molten lava cake.

Verdict? It was good though it wasn't how I expected it to be. I was looking for a cheesy sharpness, and velvety texture. It was more custard-y to me than cheesy. It was also airy and instead of getting a velvety smooth texture, the cheese part was rather bubbly. The tart was also glazed with what seemed like a ripe mango glaze (according to my Pinoy taste buds) but when I researched, I found out that it was Apricot.

If there is one thing that I loved about this tart, it was the crust. Instead of the usual tart crust, Pablo Cheese Tart had a flaky, buttery puff pastry as it's crust. It was crispy and held it's filling well and I loved how it's texture created a contrast to the rather very soft cheese filling.

Since I wasn't able to score the Matcha and Premium Cheese Tarts, I settled for the Sabrels. I got the Matcha and Black Truffle. They're super expensive and I don't see myself buying these again! Nine small cookies for 499Php, dunk a whole cookie into your mouth and you're done! If you're wondering what these cookies are, they're Langue de Chat also known as Lengua de Gato locally or you can also call them Cheese Short breads... The thinness, the texture, the crisp, the taste - yep, expensive Lengua de Gato.

> Sabrel Cheese Matcha - 499Php for a box of 9

I love these Matcha Sabrels! Matcha x Mascarpone = love! The cookie thins were infused with matcha then filled with creamy Mascarpone with a strong Matcha kick. The earthy flavor, the bitterness of Matcha and the overall sweetness - I would have bought a lot if it wasn't too expensive!

> Sabrel Cheese Black with Truffle Salt Cookies for 499Php

If I love the Matcha Sabrels, hubby love these black ones.
Thin Langue de Chat cookies infused with bamboo charcoal and black cocoa, filled with gouda cheese and truffle salt cream - these cookies can be addicting! The marriage of the black truffle with the salt and creamy cheese was amazing! Totally unique and honestly, I haven't had anything like it before!

> Golden Brulee Pudding for 180Php per pc | 999Php for 6 pcs.

Then the Pudding. This is the most affordable item in their menu, aside from the soft-serve ice cream. Their pudding comes in round plastic container inside a box with two packets (one for the caramel sauce and one for the caramel crunch) and a plastic spoon.
The pudding was wobbly like a jello. It was pretty good. Not too sweet, smooth and a nice lemon touch. The caramel sauce was sweet and had a bitter after taste. Same goes for the crunch which gave a good contrast in terms of texture to the pudding.

If you're eyeing on the Chocolate Cheese Tart, I'm sorry to report that they're not making it daily yet and they also have a limited production of the Matcha Cheese Tart and the Premium Cheese Tart so better line up early, as in mall opening early.

Not keen on going back yet. Maybe when they've finally opened their BGC Branch, I will go and try the Matcha and Premium Cheese Tarts. Also hoping that they'll work on the Cheese Tart to make it well worth the price tag.
