And it was all dark after these were served! It became one good and fun pub with the drinks flowing and music popping. The ambiance was just nice. Couple that with their dishes and drinks, one would sure have a good time here. 127747

Pablo's Pub and Restaurant is one place that I have been wanting to visit. I usually check it out whenever we visit Cafe Seol Hwa for dessert on Saturday nights. The place is always packed, with mostly young professionals as it's clientele. I have been planning to visit with the husband and finally had the chance on Thursday.

Pablo's Pub has this Mafia HQ feel once you get inside. The place was splashed with black paint, with some warm colors coming from the wooden tables. TV sets, chandeliers and a hidden function room are some of the other things that you can see inside. Taking inspiration from Pablo Escobar, Pablo's Pub and Restaurant screams bad-ass elegance.

To kick off the night, we started with a glass of cranberry juice. Nothing really fancy, just plain cranberry juice.

They revamped their menu. They trimmed down the selection to their best-sellers. Appetizers, mains and dessert - a little over ten dishes in total.

| Paprika Fries for 160Php

Paprika Fries landed into our table first. The usual bar fries would mean greasy sticks but since they coated these babies with Paprika, the greasiness wasn't as much. Skin-on fries that still retained their crunch even after taking some snaps, these fries were good starters. By the way, you can add 100Php if you want your fries with truffle oil.

| Spicy Chicken Tenders for 250Php

We also got to try their Spicy Chicken Tenders. Tender chicken bites coated in a thick and heavy sauce made up of paprika and cayenne pepper, the sauce came in too strong for me. It has the tendency to get cloying but if you wanna breakaway from that flavor, you can dunk the chicken into the sour cream with heavy cream dip.

| Chicharon Bulaklak for 230Php

Classic bar chow! How can you go wrong with this cholesterol rich, super yummy finger food? According to their head chef, Chef Mario, they have their own mix of seasoning that makes their version of this bar chow favorite even more sinful. I must admit that this is the best version of Chicharong Bulaklak that I've had so far! Crunchy, salty with hints of black pepper, as usual, this is best when dipped into a spicy vinegar mix!

| Pablo's Cheese Burger for 190Php

For the main event, Javier had us try their best seller since day 1! Pablo's Cheeseburger! Sandwiched in a buttered then toasted brioche bun was a quarter pound of pure beef patty. Cooked medium well, the beef patty was tasty but lacked the juiciness that I was looking for - maybe because it was too thin. Nonetheless, I liked the taste of butter in the soft bun, the mild cheddar cheese that this came with, the crisp lettuce and the fresh tomato slices. Not the best in the market but definitely a bang for your buck at 190Php!

We also tried their version of Jack Coke. Instead of using JD, they used Jameson which is an Irish Whiskey. Good stuff. It was on the sweet side.

Overall, it was a good experience. Nothing too fancy or extra ordinary with the food, but forgivable since these are bar chows, best paired with beer, cocktails or some other alcoholic drinks.

REGULAR HAPPY HOUR: 5PM to 9PM, Mon to Sat!

P.S. Pablo's Pub and Restaurant will be having it's ANNIVERSARY WEEK and they'll be offering the following deals from OCTOBER 10-13 ---

> 2 Cheeseburgers for 299Php ONLY (regular price: 190Php each)
> 2 Double Cheeseburgers for 549Php ONLY (regular price: 290Php each)

Sponsored Dinner

Dinner x Drinks at Pablo's Pub!

I am the queen of useless trivia and i know who Pablo Escobar is.  He is the wealthiest criminal of all time.  Why am i talking about him?  No particular reason,  i am assuming that Pablo's Pub is loosely based on the king of the Columbian Drug Cartel.  I ain't kidding,  saw a lil bit of Don Pablo in their  Menu.

¶ Cartagena -  Don Pablo owned massive island getaway on Isla Grande, 22 miles from Cartegena.  Uncanny,  right?

¶ Cartel - Don Pablo is the founder and head of the Medellín Cartel

¶ The Escobar -  this is a dead giveaway.

Alas!  Menu is revised and the Don Pablo elements vanished into thin air.   I contemplated editing my review but i made an executive decision to run with it after finishing my steaming cup of chamomile.

Let's talk interior,  shall we?  Pablo's reminds me of those Irish Pubs i see in movies.  From the dim lights,  the bar and the furniture.  Oh!  The pub where S sang her heart out (while they were looking for Kendall Malone).  I'm gonna zip it with the Orphan Black reference and focus on more pressing matters.

Liquids.

While we were waiting for the others to arrive,  refreshments were served.

¶ Cranberry Juice.   Who among you watched The Departed???  This is Leo's drink of choice (before he beat the crap out of the dude who made a snide comment).   Why am i mentioning this?  No particular reason,  it felt like it's appropriate with the ambience.

¶ Jameson and Coke.  Oh whisky!  You and your deviant ways.  This was okay,  biased opinion as i haven't had whisky in a while.  I forgot what it tastes like.

Solids.

Spicy Chicken Tenders (php 250).  Cayenne pepper infused chicken fillet with some sour cream sauce on the side.  Not enough heat and too much salt.  It's better if you slather an indecent amount of sour cream,  this somehow tones down the salt.

Pablo's Cheeseburger (php 190).   I wanted to like this burger,  i really do but certain elements made me think otherwise.  Let's talk burger components.  A quarter pounder patty cooked medium well,  Mild cheddar,  special sauce,  lettuce,  tomatoes and home-made toasted x buttered brioche bun.  The patty is too thin and not as juicy as I want it to be.  The mild cheddar x special cheese concoction is wicked.  Whatever they have on the sauce goes well with the cheddar.  Now,  ze bun....i find it too oily (occupational hazard of toasting them and adding butter).  Apart from the excess oil,  i think it is too airy for a brioche bun.

As you can see there are a lot of pros and cons about the burger.  Set aside my preferences,  i think that ze cheeseburger falls on the "just okay"  category.  It is not something that would wow you and not something that would trigger an online rant.  Let's factor in the price,  you cant get a decent burger for less than php 200 in BGC.

¶ Chicharon Bulaklak (php 230).  The quintessential  "putok-batok"  bar chow.   These babies are coated with breading hence making it less oily compared.  Best eaten with the dipping sauce as it somehow lessens the guilt and health risk... Har-Har.   The dip is a concoction of vinegar,  garlic,  pepper and lemon.

¶ Paprika Fries (php 160).  I love potatoes.  So Pablo's Paprika Fries is right up my alley.  The marriage between potatoes and paprika is perfect.  The fries are cooked well,  not too crunchy and not too soggy.   Apart from adding an interesting flavor contrast,  the paprika adds a dash of colour to dem fries.

I'm giving Pablo 3 due to the following points:

° Prices are reasonable
° Food is okay

Thank you for having us,  Don Pablo.

Working in Fort Bonifacio could sure dent your wallet if you’re not smart with your money. Temptation is very strong, especially on payday, as we are surrounded by restaurants and retail stores. There are even a few malls to choose from. And being stranded could also be costly. Believe me. As a person who brings homemade food to work, I make sure that I spend less than PHP100 a day, even less on most days. But when rain pours, sometimes, so does money.

Hey, Pablo’s!

Rain was crazy a few weeks ago. Since I had no plans to brave the rain, I decided to join my officemates for dinner at Pablo’s.

Pablo's has Happy Hour until 8 p.m. but since I have some drinks at home, I focused on the real food. On my first night, I opted to get the Sirloin Beef Tapa with 2 Eggs (PHP245) and an order of Pablo’s Potato Chips (PHP170).

The potato chips confused me. Those were definitely not “paper thin” as what the menu claimed. It was fat potato cuts. At least it was crispy.

But it was smothered with spicy red powder making it difficult for me to enjoy.

My officemates kept saying that Pablo’s tapa is deeeelish so I had my palate ready for something awesome.

When it was served, first thing that came to mind was, “serving size is okay, it’s fragrant too, but is it better than my mom’s tapa?” Yes, I have never tasted better tapa than my mom’s. My mom’s tapa has this sweet and tangy taste that I love and so far, I have not tasted anything better.

It was okay. The tapa was tender and it was juicy. It was a nice mix of sweet and salty taste. I didn’t taste the tanginess that I want from tapa though. But it was pretty good for its price. And I loved that the rice was not your usual plain rice. It was mixed with tapa sauce and bits of marinated sirloin.

Overall, it was still a pleasant dining experience. Pablo's is a good place to hang out and have a drink or two.

Super enjoyed our afterparty here for my bf's bday! 127881128149

Loved the cocktails and food we had in general. Only thing I didn't enjoy here was when most of our fave cocktails were oos and there's some dishes that were too salty, like kidney-pleading salty level. 128534 I think that was the platter with the chicken something. Enjoyed the chicharon buleklek and the wedges a lot! We had like so many rounds of that we got high with cholesterol and not with alcohol haha Staff were very nice, sharp and accommodating plus They've got good live acoustic artists too! 🙃

Lunch at Pablo's Pub with the boyfriend earlier today. He was craving for burger so I suggested we eat here. I really enjoyed the burger and fries before so I was excited for him to try it for himself. 128513

We arrived at around 12nn and we were the only customers that time. I guess people usually go here at night and not during daylight. 128517

We ordered the two things he needs to try here -- The Classic 1/2lb. Burger (325) and Paprika Fries (230).

The Classic 127828
- Ony said the burger was okay. Just recently, he was able to try Chili's Big Mouth Burgers and according to him, it's better than Pablo's pub. I liked the burger, it's really tasty and huge but nothing extraordinarily special about it. I enjoyed and loved this before but it's not the same anymore. The bun was not toasted. There wasn't that much cheese and lettuce, as well. But we still finished our burgers. Just not the best burgers for us. 128518

Paprika Fries 127839
- Though there's fries already served with the burger, we still ordered this additional fries as Anthony really really really loves fries! As in! But just recently, I asked him to stop from eating mcdo fries (or any fries) since junk food and not healthy. 128518128513 So he really insisted we get more fries. So yup, their fries are made from real legit potatoes (less unhealthy). It's perfectly fried thick slices of potatoes, crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. 128518 What makes it's special (and pricey) is the addition of Spanish Paprika. The fries is really addicting. With mayo and tomato ketchup as your dip, you can eat the whole basket on your own.

They have TV here as well so you can watch live NBA games while having burgers and fries. Service was just okay. Kuya was really nice but was so relaxed. When I asked for water, he'll just give the water to me and we need to ask for another one for Ony. 128563 Maybe because we're the only ones eating. But still, service is very important. But he's nice! 128517

My girlfriends and I were supposed to go to another pub, unfortunately, or should I say fortunately, that pub was full already and there were no tables anymore. So we've decided to try Pablo's instead. The music was good. As in really good. And they also serve wonderful cocktails. Just the right amount of alcohol for me. 128522

All hail their half-pound burger! 128588

My burger-connoisseur friend and I both agreed that Pablo's is one of the best burgers we've tasted locally, and is in fact capable of holding its own when placed side-by-side with its American counterparts. The patty was tender and flavorful, the sauce, vegetables and [melted] cheese perfectly portioned, the bun chewy and tasty, and everything fresh and of excellent quality. The fries were well-seasoned, and crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside.

Although I didn't get to try their liempo, I was told by a trustworthy tongue that it had merited a stamp of approval. The garlic rice it was served with (which I did try, and mind you, I'm extremely picky about my rice) was just greasy enough, just garlicky enough, and just soft enough. It may actually be the best I've had.

The chicharon bulaklak was satisfactory, however tasted like a "sosyal" version of the Pinoy classic. I don't know about you, but when I order something like that, I'd prefer to have it authentic and dampa-esque as opposed to altered and "improved". This is one of the few dishes whose recipe in my opinion doesn't leave much room for experimenting. I wouldn't recommend ordering it.

The Big Heist, simply a chewy chocolate chip cookie a la mode, was a sweet ending to an amazing meal. I'm m very particular with my desserts, and this one made the cut. It's a must-order for all the sweet tooths.

I've heard much about their hazelnut beer, which didn't disappoint. It was simply San Miguel Pale Pilsen with hazelnut syrup, but was a welcome concoction. The caramel beer I can't say the same for. It was absolutely disgusting, tasted like medicine, and I couldn't stomach more than one sip.

Collectively, it was a positive dining experience, waiters were [overly] attentive, ambience was great, and I'll definitely be coming back in the near future.

One of my default go to places on a Friday or Saturday night lately. Their beef tapa is superb (both filling and sulit) and they often have promo on drinks.

We did our dear friend Regina A's despidida here and they had a 50% off promo on their Chivas bottles. Now that's a party hahaha. 127881

Ps: not packed on weekdays and early hours. Best to go early to get a good table because it doubles as a bar during the wee hours so it gets kinda crowded.

We didn't go here for the food but we checked this place out at night and it was loud. The place seems nice but the music was way too loud for me. Tumatanders na haha! But maybe the food will make me reconsider my rating of this place. 128513

I've seen a lot of good reviews about their food. Will try them next time 128077

Prime Pork Rib! Since I'm a meat and protein lover, I didn't skip the chance to taste this one. This one is thick and reasonable for its price. The tenderness of their meat will surely makes your mouth watering and craving for some more!

So I heard this place currently offers a buy 1 take 1 burger until november 27, well, I tried it earlier and it didn't disappoint me. I took their "The pounder" an all beef topped with american cheddar, their own Pablo's sauce, lettuce and tomato with fries on the sides. Imagine two thick patties grilled medium rare, juicy and tender, delightful isn't it? That's what I got today! One pounder burger is enough to fulfill your cravings and probably can fill you up for the whole day. So hurry and try their burger! And in my opinion this is obviously better than the one 8cuts is offering.

Tried their Pablo's Pound Burger. Couldn't even finish the whole thing. 2 patties in one burger whew! For the record! I love how the burgers are well-grilled (best served medium-well). The softness of the buns and patties are not so tender (which makes the burger yummy in every bite together with the cheese). The burger may collapse as to its softness but you'll get to appreciate it more in every bite. Plus, the paprika fries isn't too salty but tasty. The staff are accommodating too. I enjoyed the coziness of the place. Grab a chance to try their buy one take one promo till the 27th only!you wouldn't regret it.

It's Pablo's Burger Week! 127828127828127828

They have this buy 1 take 1 promo for all burgers. But what made it even better is that the promo doesn't apply only to burgers, but to pasta and cocktails as well!

First time to eat at Pablo's. The place seems to be inspired by the popular drug lord Pablo Escobar.

I ordered the Pablo's Half Pounder + Bacon.

Half pound beef patty, tomato, lettuce and mozzarella plus the bacon. Oooh. Heaven. The patty alone was very tasty.

It was served with a side of thick cut paprika fries. Really good stuff!

Might go back later in the week for pasta!

Take note. There are only certain times of the day that the promo applies. It differs per day. Check out their social media accounts for more details.

Had the burger which was quite tasty. Truffle fries, k lang. The one in Burger Bar is better. Decent place to have a drink and some grub. I'm just not a fan of tugsh tugsh music, so I wouldn't say I'd be here a lot.
