When it comes to laid back vibe accomodation in Siargao, Paglaom Hostel is one of the best that i recommend.

Your home away from home. This humble hostel operated by Cocoy and Sanne (probably the coolest owners you will ever meet) is designed to have its guests interact more with each other. You'll gonna meet other nationalities or fellow Pinoys who are fond of surfing or just backpackers who just love to travel. It is located in General Luna which is a motor ride away to the famous Cloud 9, a less than 10-minute walk to the nearest beach, near to market and other restaurants.

Paglaom Hostel usually gets fully booked really fast especially during peak season, so better have your reservations made weeks before your travel. At Php 250 a night plus taxes, it is one of the most affordable accomodations you can get in the island paradise. You can book your reservations online thru A minimum of two days is required.

The design of the hostel is made of indigenous materials and open spaces compose of a mess hall, separate sleeping halls, a communal kitchen, locker rooms, common indoor toilets (male and female), outdoor showers, and washing areas and an open green area at the middle.

The sleeping halls are very cool. You got to experience sleeping on their 18 bunker type beds separated into two. Don't forget to write your name on the side of the bed. Also, even the halls are open, don't mind the insects since mosquito nets are provided per bed.

The Mess Hall. This is where new friendships are made, surfers and non-surfers alike. You can jam and chat with other guests, play with the dogs and cats, have yourself lying on the hammocks or just simply sit on the pillows while playing guitar or draw graffitis on every part of it.

I love the concept of tab system. They really put trust in their guests. Whatever you get in their communal kitchen or their in-store shop, you'll have to record it on their log book by yourself. Payment is done upon check-out of the hostel. The best part is....FREE WIFI, for those who can't wait to post their travel pictures on their social networking accounts.

DEFINITELY, backpacking to the next level.
STAY STOKED at Paglaom. 'Til next time. 128076
