Nice ambiance. Generous serving. Nice music. Though the wait time is something that they can improve on.

The food is great. The view is relaxing, beautiful.

Panagatan Seafoods Restaurant is more or less a 30-minute ride from the city proper (say from Centrio Mall). The restaurant stands out from the rest in line because of it's location which is along the highway. Our taxi fare is roughly P200 (USD4).

We went here after our meeting last March 24, 215. The place is big, has relaxingly open space. The view around is a plus, can see plenty of rocks surfaced maybe because it's low tide that time. The breeze is malansa ''mussel-smelling" but by far not annoying.

So we ordered 2 big alimango, shrimp sinigang, buttered cheese scallops, grilled pusit and of course Cagayan De Oro's trademark Sinuglaw. Yum, panalo! Fresh na masarap pa. Definitely, I would recommend this place.

That night, there roughly around 100 people dining.
Speaks a lot about how good the restaurant is.

I would have given them 5 stars had the service been fast. We waited more than 30 minutes for our orders. Having said that, EVERYTHING was so good. We had halabos na hipon, steamed lapu-lapu, and lato salad. They were all fresh and cooked the right way.

Panagatan serves good seafood and we were lucky to be able to try both the main branch by the dagat and the one in Centrio! :)

Reasonably priced and so delicious. We had sinigang, the sour broth was perfect. Garlic shrimps with fresh sweet shrimps. Inihaw na liempo and panga were good too.

After coming back from our waterfalls experience, we just cleaned up a bit and headed to centrio mall to look around and eat dinner.
There are actually a lot of choices but of course we wanted something local. In Opol city, there's a famous seaside restaurant called panagatan and we were happy to see that they had another branch in centrio.
We ordered seafood (since it was their specialty). Hubby got the pinaputok na tilapia and I got Gambas. We ordered crispy shrimp again for appetizer and crispy kangkong. Got baked scallops too since it's my fave.
The shrimp was so so, better at kagay anon. Didn't like the kangkong too. However, hubby's tilapia was super fresh and amaze! The scallops were good too, much bigger than the ones in Manila.
But when my Gambas came, it was super dissaponting! It wasn't sizzling at all and the shrimp were tiny, parang pang toppings sa pancit.
Decided to get an order of liempo to compensate for the boo Gambas. Surprise, it was super good! Probably the best liempo I've had! The meat was tender and sweet (not because of the marinate).
Service was lackluster too. Btw I've noticed that in the restos in CDO. Just a sidenote.
So if you're going to panagatan, get the scallops and liempo, steer clear of the Gambas!
